The band is fantastic... they hit the jackpot with a perfect pitch singer with a huge voice, wide range and can mimic instruments. Charisma and her bring fine as hell is the icing on the cake. ❤❤❤ PERFECTION!
Merry Christmas 🎁 🌲💝 Thank you for gifting us fabulous videos of one of the best 1970s funk band ! ❤ ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ This is my favorite song next to Sweet Thing. A powerful quintet that had the sound of a massive funk orchestra. I will always love my Rufus featuring Chaka Khan. ❤❤❤❤❤ What fond memories !
My best friend and I were hugely into soul/funk in the late 70s. Saw EWF a few times which was amazing, but also saw a “combo” concert in Hartford of Rufus, Kool and the Gang, and Wild Cherry- our junior high art teacher took us! That would never fly nowadays
Rufus featuring Chaka Khan are such an influential group to so many artists. Not just performers of R&B or soul music. They were on the record players and am/fm radios of numerous neighborhoods back in the 70s. Ok I’m dating myself a bit here but you get the point. They were great! Chaka Khan to this day influences so many soul singers, many female of course. Excuse me, that’s RRHF Chaka Khan!
Surprised me too. That clarity of that single coil pickup tone is crisp and defined. I was trying to figure out what amp he’s playing through. Definitely a Fender amp but what model.
She has pretty incredible vocal control, I’ll give her that. I think I saw her in Napa awhile back and her bass player killed. Outdoor concert, good wine. What else could you want? (Brian Culbertson was running the show I think and he was really good too.)

Damn. They are grooving!!! Out of sight. ❤
70's Funk. So in the pocket. No autotune/click track. A beautiful groove.
Um, I recorded in the 70s. We had click tracks. We used click tracks. Not everything old is good.
What a Beautiful song... chaka is so talented... 💯✌🏾
I am a 60+ year old white country boy and I remember the first time I saw this. I was hooked on this gal. Great Music!
Thank God for Midnight Special for bringing back these fuckin' great performances. Rufus & Chaka, how could I forget how great FUNK was

Dang, forgot about this one. Diminished chords in a funk tune? Love it. And Tony's working the heck out of that Mustang.
Andr’e kickin ass on the drums!
Tightest funk ever. Change my mind
Fantastic, but I guess you never heard of Parliament Funkadelic 🤨

That little MusicMaster guitar sounds amazing!

@@curtisphilumalee1447 Fender through Fender is the only way imo!
Absolutely…. Mid 60’s Deluxe Reverb or the chime of the Princeton Reverb.
@curtisphilumalee1447 I have a 1978 MusicMaster Bass amp that I put a different speaker in and it is like a mini Bassman.
This song was written by Ray Parker Jr. And Chaka Khan so naturally the guitar 🎸 is smokin good!!!!😊
70s Funk! enough said
Never heard of Rufus. Solid performance.
You can bever go wrong with Rufus and Chaka Khan.

I'm not surprised-you young people don't know much.
There is much to learn from The Midnight Special channel. It is a treasure. Like this performance.
