    I like voyager but confronting „janeway“ after discovering she isn’t who she seems to be alone in close quarters is the same level of stupidity as a witness in red dead redemption seeing someone murdering another person and screaming out loud „hey you! I saw you doing this and I‘m gonna report you!!“ 😂

      @@raven4k998, He may have suspected it, but IIRC, he wasn't sure until The Doctor flunked that misdirection that was thrown his way. Or maybe he wanted to leave a trail of bread crumbs without tipping off the aliens. So he deliberately aloud himself to be exposed.
      Or the writers just overlooked that fact for the sake of the plot.

    • @darkaquatus
      @darkaquatus 3 года назад +12

      Well, I'm not so sure about that. He had a choice to make there. He heard about a personal, but significant story and he could either act as if he had no idea what Chakotay was talking about, or he could just carefully play along. He chose the latter. There are multiple reasons why the story wasn't put in her service record. Perhaps it was never put there because it contained sensitive information. Or perhaps the incident was later removed because it would damage the reputation of certain people. Maybe the mission involved required a higher security clearance. Who knows? Thinking about it, I would say that choosing to carefully play along is the safer choice here.

    • @mitchellmelkin4078
      @mitchellmelkin4078 2 года назад +4

      MrErizid, Another possibility is that he simply didn't have time to cover every contingency, as he was trying to work out his plan while thinking on his feet, with the Hierarchy duo surveilling him constantly. Alternatively, it might well be that The Doctor's overweening self-regard, spurred him to believe that he could carry out the masquerade without much concern about ever being tripped up.

More character development for Chakotay and Kim is a good start. More consistent character behaviour, instead of making the character fit the story. I respect Robert Beltran as an actor, and I feel he was perfect for this role - but as it neared the final seasons, you could tell the man lost his passion for this, which is a rotten shame.
