I love how it's only in season 2 that Tealk first says "indeed". It's only in season 3 that he starts saying it relatively often, and it's only in season 4 that he starts saying it twice in the same episode. By season 6 he says it three times in an episode, and season 7 before he says it four times in an episode. In season 8, he manages 7 times in one episode. Now that's character progression.

There are things I like and dont like about this. Obviously, Neelix knows about leola root, a root that tastes terrible but is incredibly nutrient dense. But they all have tricorders, which can scan these fruit with ease and identify toxins. Seriously, that should be like lesson 1 of xenoplanetary survival

Neelix does have a point. Voyager's supply situation is critical--they can't afford to be picky. And considering their technology, I would have to think they'd have some way of resequencing actual food into more palatable forms while keeping the nutritional value intact.

I figure he could taken the toxic fruit back for scientific analysis to find out if it had any other useful potential property's.
