  • Aerial footage of the loading of the first Liebherr STS crane on to Jumbo Jubilee . The vessel will take both cranes , built by Liebherr Killarney , to Greenock Scotland one at a time over the coming weeks .

    OK.. Nice one... It was a nice lift. Our departure is about 30th PM or 31th AM. Not sure yet.

    WOW footage, that is serious heavy lifting!!! Probably over 700 tonnes

      1220 tonnes total weight. 935 for the STS, the rest for the rifging. 72,5 meters high, 106,3 meters wide.

      @@dennisterpstra Hi Dennis, I expected as much. I worked in the Liebherr Design Dept many years ago.. Great company and it is a top of the range STS crane

    Pity that it was not possible to load with the jib for and aft. Some interesting calcs to confirm stability. Unless my eyes deceive me the crane was previously at Greenock.

      It looks big but all mass comes down to a single point. That point is less spectaculair. We also used 2 yellow pontoons on our portside to increase our lifting stability. But we could have lifted the 1000 tons STS without.

      Yup no crews to crew them
