Very nice. Nice camera work too. I just got a brown and sharp screw machine and it is sitting in my garage. I hope to get it working as well as this one.

Beverly and I own a 1901 home here in Atlanta. In the process of refinishing a group of heart pine doors, we had some #9 X ¾ slotted flat head brass screws made to hang the solid wood doors. We offered the balance to others who were interested in this item and are now looking to make some additional screws.
I’d like to make some 9 X 1 and possibly several other #9 wood screw sizes. My previous order was for (1000) 9 X ¾ screws I’m looking for Made in USA screws. Thanks for Your Help,
@@caseywellington Understand you have a Brown and Sharpe screw machine. If you can make screws, I’d like to talk with you about making us some 9 X 1 and possibly several other #9 wood screw sizes. My previous order was for (1000) 9 X ¾ screws. I’m looking for Made in USA screws.
My die head works like a single point threading tool. I use the thread counter on my maual lathe and feed at the TPI. When I am done cutting the threads I need to back off and the die head pops open. When the material pulls on the die head it opens. So the die head has to be fed into the material in order to work.. At least thats the case with mine.
Setting these machines (CNC, Brown & Sharpe, BSA) including the multi-spindle versions was my first job. Although in contrast to what I can recall the timing and clearance on the video example seems wide compared to the jobs I had to set - clearances down to less than a millimeter with cam rises only a few thousands of and inch longer than the required cut. For example: notice that the bar stop had to wait for the barstock to move forward! On my jobs the barstock would hit as the turret stopped
Same here, and the part off tool only just clearing the bar stock before the collet opened! I did my apprenticeship at Plessey in Nottingham, I can remember one really high volume production run, a tiny 10BA brass bush made in a BSA 48. Part number N95330, still remembered 50 years later due to all the bloody tote pan tickets I had to fill out!
Just saw your Comment on a You Tube video of a Brown and Sharpe screw making machine . Do you know who could make us some brass wood screws? Thanks for Your Help,

cool video. Most people don't have close-ups of their machines running.
