No eighteen year old woman can walk into a doctor's office and demand to have her tubes tied, unless she has serious medical problems that makes pregnancy hazardous to her health. For a woman who has never had children, it can be difficult to get a tubal ligation at any age. Yet children are allowed to make decisions that can affect their fertility in the name of 'trans.'

@@abluecanoe I was able to get a tubal ligation in my mid thirties as a single woman with no children only because I had health problems that would prevent me from being able to carry a pregnancy to term. Both the pill and diaphragm gave me chronic infections that were difficult to control. The IUD was not an option since I had endometriosis and my partner would not use a condom. I wonder how many women are like me, struggling with contraception, but unlike me cannot get a tubal ligation because they are healthy enough to go through a pregnancy.

_"Children are allowed to make decisions that can affect their fertility"_ - The statement is unclear. Please be more specific, to avoid the risk of transactivists misrepresenting your words.
*1) What do you mean by "children"?* You can choose multiple options.
      A) Small prepubescent kids.
      B) Adolescents, roughly during puberty.
      C) Young adults over 18.
      D) Other (specify).
*2) What are these "decisions"?* You can choose multiple options.
      A) Social transition (pronouns, hairstyles etc.).
      B) Puberty blockers.
      C) Hormones (testosteron and estrogens).
      D) Chest surgery.
      E) Genital surgery.
      F) Other (must specify).
*3) What do you mean by "Children are allowed to make decisions in the name of 'trans'?* Choose only the option that is closer to what you meant.
      A) "Children can just declare themselves to be trans, and that's enough to get the medical procedure."
      B) "Doctors ask children if they want the medical procedure, however that's not the only requirement."

So just downloaded and deleted the book. First few chapters a load of gobblygook( in other words garbage). First you are not assigned sex/gender at birth. Your sex is decided at conception. I knew I was having my son when I was 3 months pregnant. My eldest daughter has a genetic syndrome, which happened at conception so things go wrong but we never had anything like this when I was going to school. We were just teen-agers. I think so much of what goes in is because of social media

@@judyboast4020 Very true! I dislike the term “sex assigned at birth,” charitably it can be interpreted to mean that human beings, based on the things they think are true about the world, (like what sex you are, what race you are, etcetera) treat and conceptualize people differently. But the point of words like “sex” is explicitly to make reference to facts about the outside world, not to make reference to what we think are facts about the outside world, and so the term “sex assigned at birth” really just makes it sound like “sex” is a fictional idea that is imposed upon reality, rather than what it truly is, a categorization used to describe and represent reality.
This book isn’t uniquely bad by any means, it’s actually pretty run-of-the-mill from what I’ve seen, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t still bad, it says, in reference to Gender Criticals: “What does it mean, the chapter ultimately asks, that white women are the respectable face of a politic invested in the fantasized outcome of exposing trans children to social and literal death?”
      Pretty damn inane.

The wrestler disqualified herself by taking testosterone. She can longer play other women, and she has no business playing men because boys & men deserve to have same sex opponents that they feel free to engage with as their physical & social peers - just as women deserve that right too.
These kids and young people need to know that the consequences of doing this to yourself has significant ripple effects that they may not have thought about and that everyone else who inhabits the planet doesn't have to go along with a lie or affirm various trans-fantasies.
If schools have decided to teach or instruct the trans-delusion, then they need to facilitate a separate league for 'trans' students.

Yep. In contact sports with men, it's unfair to make a man fight a woman. There's always a question of whether the guy fought back as hard as he could and wasn't holding punches. Most, an overwhelming majority of men, don't go full force against women. The only dudes you see not holding back are the ones trying to infiltrate women's sport and prouder than anyone to utilise that male advantage.

I had a ton of issues and trauma with being a woman. It took a lot of therapy (different kinds) and not until 32 did I start thinking clearly. I realize I did want to be a mother. Because of the things that happened to me, my mental maturity was massively delayed. The children transitioning thing will always be a topic of contention when these people say that the effects of puberty blockers are irreversible. Lupron, an ingredient used in blockers that is used to chemically castrate men and intensely fight against prostate cancer, I mean the writing is on the wall of why you shouldn't be giving this stuff to children. It's not just the fertility but also the disruption of the child's skeletal development and developing as well as brain development. It's so foolish and dangerous to sit there and not actually think about these things and how it will carry over into adult life with all the other things you mentioned (heart problems, liver problems, etc).
All in all I'm not really familiar with John Oliver but he comes off as another nonce who really doesn't know what the hell he is talking about and should seriously actually look into this topic outside of the TRA group and engage with some true critical thinking.

@@oregonvibez I took Synarel (a GNRH agonist that is in the same class of drugs as Lupron and is also used as a puberty blocker) for six months as an adult for endometriosis. In this type of therapy, drugs such as Lupron and Synarel are used to increase fertility in women who have trouble conceiving. For adult women, treatment with GNRH agonists is limited to at most six months because of problem of losing bone density. The problem with giving puberty blockers to children is that they are given for years instead of months, and are almost always followed up with cross-sex hormones. It is the timing and the combination of drugs that threaten fertility.
Birth control pills put a temporary stop to fertility that ends when you stop the pill. Corticosteroids are prescribed to reduce inflammation, and I've never heard these drugs as causing infertility. In fact one of them, prednisolone, is used to treat infertility. Anabolic steroids are used in adult men who have low levels of testosterone. They can also be used to improve athletic performance in men and women. It is this type of use can cause infertility; athletes usually get these drugs without a prescription and are therefore illegal in the US.

Blood tests found he had anomalous levels of testosterone, suggesting he had been utilising extraneous sources of the male hormone for sporting benefit.
If it is against the rules for males to take that hormone, then of course that female wrestler shouldn’t wrestle girls after taking testosterone. There’s a serious question whether she should wrestle boys either.

One of the more important points is that the claim that puberty blockers don't have permanent effects because when you stop using them, puberty resumes. Sure, the puberty blockers themselves aren't permanent, but what about the lost physical development during the span in which the blockers were used? That's certainly permanent. Your body doesn't just tack the lost development period back onto the end of puberty and extend its duration, whatever missed development you had is permanent.

My brother was a millennium baby, and he showed better ability with his left hand, but because the school noticed that he wasn't strongly left handed, they encouraged him and told my mum to, train him to be right handed, which didn't have great results. I think that "trans" is currently such a nebulously and broadly defined concept that it's hard to say. Trans can include everything from a sex criminal identifying as a woman to get access to women's prisons; to a young girl who wants to cut her hair short and wear a tee-shirt and decides this makes her non-binary, and a whole load of things in between

@@torinhight No one can be "born in the wrong body", our brains ARE our body just as much as any other part of it. We are the sex we are, regardless of what our personal relationship is with the sexist stereotypes in society. "Trans" ideology, is regressive and sexist, as there is no "correct way" of being a boy or girl, man or woman, all those terms do is indicate sex and stage of maturity - decoupling sex and gender and trying to make gender into this ludicrous concoction of personality and sexist stereotypes is beyond regressive - it actively harms people who buy into it - the idea that there is something wrong with a kid's body that needs to be chemically altered because they believe living up to sexist stereotypes is some real measure of whether they are a boy or a girl (and man or woman for adults obviously), is insanity!!!
I have asked hundreds of "activists" and "allies" to explain what they are measuring themselves against to determine that they have a need to transition - NOT ONE person has been able to articulate what that is - not one person is able to distance themselves sufficiently to realise that THEY are the ones with a regressively sexist idea of what it means to be a boy/girl or man/woman and that that is the issue causing all the problems - their own misunderstanding and severely limited perspective/sexist misunderstanding of what sexist stereotypes/"gender norms" actually entail - they are not rules, they are not real boundaries, they are regressive ideas and generalisations - no one needs to live up to any such utter nonsense or feel comfortable with those stereotypes to be a boy/girl/man/woman - all those terms represent, and all they should represent, is sex and stage of maturity - by creating this whole "gender identity" nonsense, THAT IS WHAT CAUSES ALL THE DISTRESS, THIS FABRICATION OF A FRAMEWORK WHICH DISTORTS REALITY.
No one - NO ONE - in the movement has been able to explain or articulate what this supposed "womanly essence" or "manly essence" is that they feel/know/need to transition in order to represent etc. actually is - yet you all actively believe in it and push for it to be accepted. That is ludicrous.
