Love the attention you're bringing to the sport man. I remember watching ultimate highlights and seeing these 240p videos from across the field, thanks for everything you've done and keep going!
James from Wii Sports i think i’ve watched 24+ hours of frisbee on youtube but ive only watched 5 minutes of WNBA. I literally searched “WNBA highlights”, then I saw a 6’6 girl miss a wide open layup
When I saw that one clip of your knee giving out when you said you've had several knee surgeries, then seeing how this game goes about. I can only imagine how many other injuries you may have sustained. Dislocated fingers, shoulders, elbows. Some very savage stuff.
This was such good times - I watched it back in the day when Brodie was making Bro Tips and before the AUDL. I'm still sad that his career was curtailed with multiple repetitive injuries to the same knee. I always wonder what would've happened if he'd taken time to rehab and heal and then strengthen it before competing on it. I know he worked with Tim Morrill (spelling) - I'm sure he'd've had ideas about strength and conditioning to prevent injuries. 'Cause Brodie was on fucking fire. He might still be my all time favorite player for his college, club, and beginning AUDL before he jacked himself totally up. For his leadership. His sense of humor. There was a video on his FL teammate that only saw a green light and threw for goals regardless of the defensive situation that was hilarious. Also his contribution of how to videos and hammer trick shots was great in the day - like wish these'd been available when I learned ultimate. He had everything - best hammer I've ever seen. A systematic approach to training pretty much every aspect of the game from throwing to laying out on D, to how to catch at your apex. And watching him dominate an entire field was awesome. Didn't he have the opening goal of the AUDL? 80 yard hammers for the alley cats. I'd like to see how he aged as an ulti player if he'd stayed in good shape. Also admire him for his business acumen - does he make a living doing frisbee trick shots? - check out his girl. So he's living the motherfucking life! So good for him.
You have so much to offer this sport and some of us are just starting to pick it up and doing short passes and such, so when I see you doing this, its like a game changer for those who want try something new...
@@joseyuyarimilianmartinelli750 Same with Ultimate Frisbee....the point was people acting hard while playing a game, especially one that isn't physical. Basketball has you grind on people LOL SOOO TOUGH.
Hey Brodie my name is Rashaan and I'm a 16 year boy who loves adventure. I play almost every sport there possibly are. I've even played a little ultimate for my church and you have inspired me to bring ultimate back to Memphis and I would like to thank you for.
ultimate has got to be my favourite sport, i have been on my school ultimate frisbee since grade 4 and won the city chamionships 4 years in a row, hopefully we can bring it home again this year !!
Brodie you might have to be the best Thrower I've ever seen! Been watching your video's for a year and I'm so impressed. Just by watching your vids i feel like I'm gonna light it up on my Frisbee team this year ahha it gets be pumped
Matt Ford “me and real athletes” whatever you say man. you clearly don’t know anything if you think “it’s a bunch of frat guys”. If the only stuff you’ve seen is AUDL and Brodie Smith you still don’t know anything. It is not college intramural level by a mile. Watch some club games or watch some Callahan videos and tell me there aren’t real athletes in this sport.
Matt Ford i almost went D1 for baseball until I had Tommy John surgery on my left elbow. In case you’re wondering. That’s why I started playing ultimate for fun with friends until I fell in love with the sport and love playing it. It’s not anywhere close to football and baseball I’ll give you that, but don’t diss people playing this sport just cause you think you’re better than them. You’d get your shit rocked playing this sport. I bet you can’t even fucking throw a frisbee.
YoyoItJeff if a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to see it, did it still fall over? just because a player does not call a foul, does not mean brodie isn't committing a foul. let's take the play at 1:03 for example. pretty clear extension of brodie's off-hand to prevent opposing player from making play, which is a foul, regardless of whether or not one is called. it's an infraction of the rules, and a display of poor spirit. btw at elite club levels there are observers.
Me too about the sports science. I remember Ray Illian's dad did something like that a few years back, where they measured Illian's VO2 max, and put censors on a disc as he threw a backhand and a flick. As I recall the backhand spun about twice as fast, but the flick's wind up and release was half the time. And that crisp flick he threw just comes from thousands upon thousands of throws over several years
Called throwing people open, and it is what ultimate is all about... Taking the top off of the boring zones and mocking the endless ladders of the drones
i have never played ultimate frisbee but know that i have watched your vids i suddenly feel the urge to go outside, find some mates and play ultimate frisbee.
Man, watching you throw a hammer in the game is epic. It's so smooth yet goes so fast and far, it's obviously your bread-and-butter shot for a reason! If I could at least throw it nearly as smooth and half as far, I'd feel pretty accomplished. But my throw's come a long way since I first tried it (but that's not saying much lol). I'm guessing your proficiency comes more from your fitness more than anything of course.
I have never seen real ultimate frisbee but I love the fase-plants that people do when they have just done a crazy run and catches it just inside the line :D
Hey Brodie, at school during lunch, I throw a frisbee around with a friend, I can toss 4 different throws: Backhand, Forehand, Hammer, and Blade. I threw a hammer to my friend today and a blade, I' hoping to master more throws, like the scoober. My friend says he can't throw a hammer, he won't even try to throw it, if you have any advice for me that I can give to him, then please do so, Thanks for being so inspirational to me Brodie! Keep throwing that disc!
This is my absolute favorite sport, and it gets somewhat popular in my town to organize it with people every once in a while but I'd love to have a professional team going
Glad you guys enjoyed this video! In the process of making some other sick vids!

I have no idea how this works, but its just so epic!
Every single time Brodie skys someone, he fouls them pretty blatantly...
MrTrollolicious actually he isnt, its only a foul if called
fouls in ultimate are self policing, there are no refs, o if it isnt called as a foul then no foul
