1:38 I think people tend to forget that Shinji knocked out Ichigo for his Vizard Training (to get him to fight his inner hollow in his inner world) using a simple hand motion presumably using Kido without an incantation or name. (The Kido is never actually named but that is still an impressive use of Kido as it’s stated that Kido without an incantation is weaker by nature).
@ true I just mean people tend to downplay if Shinji is a Kido user or much of one in canon. I don’t think anyone thinks Head Captain Yamamoto isn’t a master of all 4 areas of Shinigami combat.
As far as the divisions of the gotei 13, it is stated in turn back the pendulum that the captain of the division basically decides what the divisions' main responsibilities are. This always seemed strange given that the gotei is a military type of organization. Kisuke turned the 12th division into research and development on a whim. I do find it odd that divisions aren't more specialized than what they are, but then you do have the kido corps and onimitsukido, which are connected to the gotei yet are somewhat seperate entities. Quilge is one of my favorite sternritter, gets a bit underrated because he appears and is beaten so early in the arc. Quilge is someone who has likely been training sternritter for over a thousand years since he seems like kind of an old school quincy, probably teaching by the time jugram and bazz both made it into the sternritter. He is the only other quincy besides uryu to use ransotengai, which caused mayuri to praise uryu as a prodigy, and kubo has stated that his is the most powerful sklaverei of the sternritter.
Quilge was a true loss to the vandenreich. He seemed like the perfect combination of traditional Quincy arts and newest upgrades. Yhwach apparently liked hin so much that he got to have his own little private fraction. The Jagdarmee should have been more of an outpost that back up the sternritters.
@@thegreatleaderjimpickens7919yes but that isn’t the only issue here. The mask soldiers were I think afraid of the sternritters and their moods. That’s why they couldn’t be any help. Staying in small groups would have actually been the smartest decision. None of the sternritters could really coordinate the foot soldiers which is why they couldn’t help them. Everyone was for themselves.
Honestly the Jegdarmee should have been a outpost in the world of the living like Urahara was. Instead of recruiting arrancars they should have been more of back up for the sternritters. Quilge was favored enough by Yhwach to have his own unit. None of the masked soldiers were any real help to the sternritters. I think they were afraid of them. One wrong word, gestures or glare and I’d be the Bambietta treatment.
Well in case of Shinji it alligns well with the previous QnA about who is the most skilled kido user in Vizard after Hachi, Kubo answered that one by Rose, though with this maybe Shinji is the third most skilled among the vizard in Kido.
Quilge's character is the perfect fussion of both the old and new ways of the Quincy race. He truly embodied that and took great pride in being a Quincy, probably more than Pernida. As for the kido capabilities, each character has their own personal preference when it comes to combat. I wouldn't like to see anyone ask why Urahara Kisuke excels at kido while his successor (Mayuri-sama) has not been seen to fight using kido.
I doubt it, the schutzstaffel are made up of 3 godly beings, yhwachs right hand man, yhwachs successor, and askin who was able to join last minute (im guessing because yhwach recognized his abilities as useful for the later battles, someone should ask kubo that). Quilge is talented, proficient, and a useful asset, but his strength doesn't even come close to what the others are capable of.
I really doubt it. Quilgue was skilled in the technical Quincy arts but lacked raw stats. There are a handful of regular Sternritters like Mask de Masculine and Bazz B that are several tiers above Kirge in raw power, nevermind the actual Schutzstaffel.
@@skippi99r32 Quilge has the power to basically nullify most captain class opponents via the jail if he wanted to (Sorry, people like Shinji, Renji, Rukia, Byakuya, etc basically can do jack all against him and Ichigo would have been stuck if he hadn't awaken his dormant Quincy powers during his encagement). Also he's definitely a close confidant of Yhwach as he knows about Uryu Ishida and his potential which not even a veteran like Sternritter Bazz-B knew about. Quilge was probably considered for the Royal Guard at some point at the very least.
@@Varre922 The confination power of the Jail is really disproportionally higher than the rest of Quilgue's abilities. Ichigo caught Quilgue's arrows with his bare hand when he was in Shikai, meanwhile Lille was outright one-shotting replicas of the floating RG islands and a replica of Senjumaru. The difference is infinite.
Yeah I’ve always thought that since one person could be chosen to join Ychwach’s Schutzstaffel, that one of the original four had to be replaced by the time the Quincy head to the Royal Palace. I’ve always believed that Quilge was the original fourth before Askin. But nonetheless, just glad Askin got the spotlight like he did.
Kido Corps and Squad Four are prohibited from deployment on Earth i wonder if they are Elemental more than generating the Kido energy, but their forms can house the energy for healing and repairing damage, like when in The Fourth Film, the Kido Corps were deployed to Seal Hell, but only managed to stop the energy from leaking out. and used in Movie III to restrain the Ohen, as it marched thru Earth
BOY..... if only such details about Quilge couldve made it to the anime... you know the EXTENDED ANIME the extended anime that's supposed to help develop previously undeveloped characters. You know... the EXTENDED anime we were promised back in 2022
What would give Quilge a backstory serve? Just to make fans happy and let them know some more neat facts about him? Lol, ya'll really don't seem to understand how Kubo writes his villains. To him they don't need backstory, as that could be a way for the audience to emphasize with the villain of the story, which he doesn't want people to do. Of course there are some expectations like Stark or Bazz-B but that's really it.
@Grayson-Winchester i think it stinks that the moment Quilge dies in the anime we suddenly get a BIG detail that could've helped his character be built in the anime. Its just too little too late and thats a CONSTANT for Bleach tybw in particular

@Grayson-Winchester honestly I want to see the sternritter interact with eachother as people rather than just be stuck solo and be simple walls. My dream scene is Gerard and Mask arm wrestling at a bar in the barracks and when gerard wins James accused Gerard of cheating by using his schrift and Gerard just saying you don't win these sorts of things when you're weak

It's the same to what Genryuusai did to knock out Hinamori when she frantically yapping to Hitsugaya in arrancar arc

If only other Sternritters were like him, and less of comically evil teenagers. Robert Accutrone looked promising as well. Too bad.

Opie having such a reputation is expected given his status and reputation. A military man who was just for the business end of his blade and leading.

I like how kubo doesn’t call neither momo nor shinji as "masters" of kido. Rather just uses the word "skilled".
Quite consistent.

kira canonically called momo hinamori a kido master and hes supposed to be stronger than her
So basically Quilge almost the same as Jugram in terms of leadership but much stricter and grandiose
Makes sense. He was the instructor after all.
In my opinion he got carried away by his sadism. I wished he would have provided backup for the sternritters from an outpost

Testament to Unohana on how diversified her skill set is. As a Captain she offers alot to the Gotei 13 but was killed off 😅
Kubo Fridging women ... So water is wet.

Most likely in the Hell arc i am thinking.
