Do you think life is meaningless, what is the point of our lives here?

3 seconds of hearing you screamed to me that you need to let go. there isnt a need to contemplate the meaning of life so deeply. i know one major reason our generation feeling so lost is not being surrounded by our own people. even us xennials were born into multiculturalism. our controllers have destroyed our sense of tribe over the decades. those off grid africans holding on to thousands of years of tradition do not battle with these feelings of being lost. their tribe gives them meaning of life. people with biracial parents can feel especially lost.
sounds like you should wait until your house is silent and you are in bed about to sleep - and sincerely ask God to reveal himself. if you dont believe in one, that is even more reason to take my suggestion.

I think the point of life is to put forth what's in your soul not for the "reward" of status or accolade, but for the simple (but challenging) enjoyment of "creating" via the use of your own brain/body and everything that goes along with that. Along the way, as you try to create what you think you can, you discover you both can and can't do what you thought you could so. You also learn what you ought and not ought to do. The benefit of this is you grow as a person/soul. I think it's better to think about it in terms of "is there a standard i should be living up to?" rather than "is there a point?". The first question is at least manageable, the other one is kind of irrelevent and a black hole because we are already here. As far as "is there a standard i should be living up to?" - the point of life is to explore that question by doing what i mentioned earlier - exploring, creating, reflecting, etc.

Im 43. Starting to realize that life is full of temporary fulfilments/ low points. money, promotions, plaques and recognition, deaths, losses, failures, regrets. I realized I have to physically show up even if I'm mentally checked out. That's the struggle. That's when I win.. or at least feel better. We all and always have been struggling with life since the beginning of the human species. I'm not exempt from all of this. Just show up, start with that, then the rest is... what it is. No answers to life. Trick yourself into thinking the struggle and suffering is the best part.

I appreciate this new "series" you're doing a lot. It's very cathartic to hear someone just pontificate life in a bleak and honest way. There's so much drivel and mundanity in this world. I feel much more understood as a (real) person by the end of these videos.

I’m 40 and my only saving grace is my wife and two kids. Everyone else in my life has been a complete disappointment. I have zero joy in my work or any of the people I work with. I try to enjoy my hobbies and invest so hopefully I can replace my income and leave the workforce forever. Our society is a scam and the American dream is a lie.

I feel like this all the time now, especially the past year . I’m 39. Constant feelings of dread and anxiety. Never married , no children. Last girlfriend/date was 15 years ago , never been successful since . I live with my mom and sister , I have a job that pays well but I hate it . I bought an expensive car thinking it would make me feel something , it doesn’t .
I think about getting my own apartment but I don’t see the point. I’d be even more lonely , and it would be just another expense. The idea of doing this for another 30 years is too much .
I used to be a huge gamer but not so much the past ten years . I’ll play here and there but I’d rather just lay here and watch tv instead . I used to be into travel and sports . Now a days I’m so exhausted from work , on my free time I’d rather just sleep or turn off my brain and watch tv/RUclips .
I guess this is it .

The best piece of advice i can give you..Anytime a negative thought comes to you, replace it with a positive thought. Our brains are like computers, but it takes a while to reprogram the brain. Ive led myself out of a really bad three year curled in the fetal position depresiion with this method and i think it can work for you. Dont give up, keep replacing with positive thoughts. So your therapist was right about rumination, but you must replace those negative thoughts.

I try to focus on my wife and daughters. Do what is necessary to earn decent money but see the job as exactly this: a necessity and nothing more.
Other than that I concentrate on some hobbies like being in the nature, listening to music, reading books or playing video games.
Don’t waste emotions thinking about other people or society or the deeper meaning of life. We all will get older and everybody’s life ends that’s for sure. Maybe the cycle will start again after rebirth but this we won’t know for sure for the time being.
We come from nothing, we are going back to nothing-In the end what have we lost? Nothing!

About the issue with being unappreciated and to solve it is by not thinking about it I'd like to add:
The negative feelings you have isn't a problem, it's an experience. You simply can't solve them because there is no solution.
I hate to come off as giving unsolicited advice but you seem to be really struggling.
All I can say is find your center. Whatever that is, clearly it's not just being a father and living the suburban dream. We do matter it's starring back at us every second of the day. Reality is far more complicated than we can imagine as that's the higher powers pushing into our face that we are something greater that just a chaotic mess of meaninglessness. Never forget that.

I don't mean to hurt your feelings but you are in nearly the same position as I was a couple of years ago and I think you need to hear this: you have to let go of the job. I had a lucrative, prestigious job, but it was so monotonous, so draining, and so boring that I was absolutely miserable. Yet, I couldn't let go of the money, prestige, and experience, so I stayed and my mental health really declined. Nothing got better until I found God and got a new job.

There's traditions of humans and then there's truth. People(religion, government, society) say a lot of things, but then there's the words that are true. The truth was from the beginning. God is truth. The truth brings true life, it does not take away. A thief comes to kill, steal, and destroy, but the truth gives life and life in the fullest.
There's an ancient language that's being used that people have forgotten. Things spoken in tongue and parables...
In the gospel Jesus is saying what the things are. "I thank you Father for hiding these things from the learning and the wise and revealing them to the innocent and the simple."
Those who have ears let them hear, those who have eyes let them see.
People still think that fasting is talking about literal food and drink...
But what does Isaiah 58 say that true fasting is? "John came neithet eating nor drinking, and they say he has a devil. The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a glutton and a drunkard and friend of publicans and sinners."
What is it to eat and drink?
"I have food you know not of."
"If you knew the grace of God and who I am, you would ask me for a drink and I would give you fresh and living water."
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for what is right for they will be filled."
*"Eat my flesh and drink my blood." The flesh is the word of God and the wine is the preserved information.."you don't put old wine into old wineskins lesd they burst. New wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are PRESERVED. No one who has drunken old wine desires the new immediately; for he says, 'The old is better.""
    "Behold, I make everything new."
"I will not drink this cup again until I drink it the day I drink it new with you in my Father's Kingdom"
Noah had a vineyard. He got drunk on wine. His younger son saw him naked. When Noah awoke he cursed his grandson calling him a servant of servants...Was Noah really butt naked and he was embarrassed..or did Noah's youngest son see Noah's fault/iniquities. Then Noah, being prideful, unfavored his youngest son and gave his other two sons good gifts to cover the "nakedness".....
a recurring theme of one child getting the favor/blessing and one being cast out. One at the left and one at the right. But strait is the way that leads to life and wisdom is proven right by all her children.
Did Daniel get thrown into a den of lions? Did Paul baptiste a lion? Did Samson eat honey out of a lion? ..Is a lion is a ruler or a king?
Was Jesus a lamb or a shepherd. Is a shepherd just a person who herds sheep?.."Feed my sheep."
Jesus said to the pharisees, "You brood of vipers!"...They are snakes because they misunderstand and use wise words to cause harm...
Moses picked up the the snake by the tail and it became a staff. Moses had the understanding/the authority to carry the wisdom. And Mose's wisdom swallowed Pharoah and his servants/snakes wisdom.
Does killing always mean kill? Or can killing mean cutting of from power?
Exodus: "God speaks in visions and dreams. God speaks in riddles" "To see God face to face is to see God without riddle."
Jeremiah: "Jeremiah what do you see? And I said, I see a branch or a shoot of an almond tree. (Aaron's rod...)Then the Lord said you have seen well. I am alert and active watching over my word to perform it.
Jeremiah what do you see? I said, a boiling pot and it's mouth is about to poor on Judea in the south. The Lord said, the evil from the north nation's sins/wrongs ways/misunderstanding is going to disclose itself in the south."
A plant grew over Jonah and gave him shade.
Psalm 144: " That our sons may be as plants full grown in their youth, and our daughters as cornerstone polished after the similitude of a palace."
Isaiah 61: "They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.
Isaiah 11: " A shoot will come from the stumps of Jesse, from his roots a branch will bear fruit, with justice and righteousness for the poor and needy of the earth "
Jesus:" I am the true vine and you are the branches."
Jonah was swallowed by a big fish.(People without a ruler?)
Habbakuk 1:You have made people like fish in the sea, like sea creatures that have no ruler. The wicked foe pulls them up with hooks and catches them in his net."
Jesus: "Cast your net on the right side! Peter, I will make you a Fisher of men."
Jesus: No sign will be given except for the sign of Jonah...you can discern the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times?"
Jesus: "I will open my mouth in parables. I will utter things that have been hidden since the foundation of the world."
Jesus was the name given to truth. Jesus said, "The flesh profits nothing, the spirit is what gives life and the words I speak are full of spirit and they are life." The more you understand the language the more you start to see it in everything..stories and symbolism in other cultures Egypt, Greece, Mexico, China, Assyria...because God preserved the truth.
For instance look at the Assyrian Winged genie..he's holding a bag/basket and he's collecting words/information..In other depictions they are hunting lions or perhaps kings(Nahum 2:"Assyria is like a lion. Where is lions den now? Where did they feed their Cubs? Where did all the lions go? In their den they had nothing to fear.".....Daniel was thrown into the lions den..)
Even today we use the language many times unknowingly. The government has a head and a body. Government leaders come together annually and the meet at a Summit/Mountain. There are giants in the land,..Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg...they stream live on different channels..like rivers..a flood of information..
2000 years ago since the time of Jesus they say....What were people doing for 2000 years? And humanity has been around much longer than that. Only 248 years ago was The United States founded...it was only discovered less than 300 years ago. No other existing nations claimed it? Most of the world was just tribal people who didn't know anything?...in the last 300 years or less they just discovered electricity/popularized it, no aircrafts, no cars, no understanding of medicine/chemistry/microbiology, no computers/ no mass production...but only now, in our time, all these things discovered...or was it hidden and forgotten, are we being told the truth about the world? Are we a people who have forgotten who we are living in a land of confusion/mystery Babylon?..
Their is an original language. One that started the world and is the foundation of all human language and understanding. A language the world once knew. A language that at it's root is all truth. The true language and meaning and history of all things. Truth. The Word of God.
