Hi Raymond, I looked at David Jones Latitude card and it seems to be one that offers heaps of flexibility with point usage and may be worth a review. 😊 The Prestige one in particular.
How long do you/should you typically hold a credit card open for before closing if your man reason for using credit cards are for the opening rewards? Is there a minimal time before it affects your credit score?
I've done a full video talking about credit card hacking here so check it out! I answer the questions that you've asked here - ruclips.net/video/ecRW53YVZmc/видео.html
Hi Raymond. I currently have the platinum edge card and was looking to open an explorer. As you mentioned in your video of having a total of $600 travel credit with this setup, can I use/combine the travel credits under one transaction? Or do I have to use it on separate bookings? Thanks.
We have a big range of stores which don't charge us fees and I believe most places charge around 3% so it's not too bad. Also since we're spending an extra 3% wouldn't that net us points as well? I just got my first Amex so I'm still getting the hang of it.
Hey Raymond I got a question,if you get a personalised offer and your an excisting member do you get the 70000 bonus points for the explorer credit card
Hi Raymond. I have this exact set up but I cannot join all the 3 card under the same account, as I called Amex and they explained to me that the platinum edge and the explorer have a different membership (called Ascent), while the essential reward has it’s own (called Gateway). I can pull under one account the first 2 but not the essential reward. Any idea about if?
I have the same issue with the platinum card (Ascent) and essential rewards card (Gateway). You can call up AMEX and ask them to transfer the Gateway reward points to the Ascent reward program as a one time transfer. This takes around 3-5 business days. Unfortunately they have now blocked where you can link the two rewards programs together
Hey mate, I did not know you couldn't pool all of your points together that kind of limits the ability to run this set up properly then unfortunately...
Yes I am also curious about this - it was my understanding that in Australia Amex has different valued rewards programs that also have different transfer partners. 1 MR is not always worth the same across the cards. @raymondla - do you have an opinion on the Platinum Reserve Credit Card? Amex has offered this card to me with a waived annual fee.
No they don't expire as long as you still have the AMEX credit card open. Once you close your AMEX credit card you have 30 business days to spend them otherwise they'll expire.

Great vid bro. Would love some reviews of the best business rewards credit cards too if possible. So hard to find Aussie geared content for CC's.

Isn’t the welcome bonus for new members only?

Pretty sure your credit score is affected as soon as you apply for a credit card

Unfortunately you can't combine them so you will need to use them for seperate bookings.
Thanks for this great info. Your videos are so helpful. How is this setup compared to Amex Qantas Ultimate card - better or worse?
You could swap out the Explorer/Platinum for the Qantas. It just depends on if you want to earn AMEX reward points or Qantas FF points.
In Australia most places that accept Amex charge a hefty surcharge (more than Master or Visa). So isn’t the points earned a bit of a false economy?

Thanks Raymond, can you still convert Amex rewards to Qantas points. They are not listed as an airline partner on the website ?
You can only convert points to qantas if you’re a Platinum Card holder
It would've been great if amex didn't ban churners. Just received an automatic rejection a week ago
It's all a scam, the only ones benefiting are Amex shareholders e.g. wazza buffet
Sorry to hear that, I've heard similar stories. Which is why I opted against trying to close my AMEX card and sign up for another one in 18-months

Is this American Express directly sending you an email for an offer?

@@raymondlathe pooling of points doesn’t change the earn rate of each card, it just provides convenience when transferring to partner airlines/hotels
