I just want 1 episode where Lowkey give us the music he likes to listens to AND WHY he likes it.
I think we've heard how much he doesn't like certain songs...
Exactly 💯💯. He's so angry at everyone. He hates Nicki because she blocked him after calling her music trash. Ever since then he has an animosity
Wishful thinking. I said he doesn’t think before he speaks and he told me he thought about wishing I bump my toe. That hasn’t happened in case you’re wondering
Saying you don’t like a song is not hate or negative. It is an opinion.
You know good and well this dude be on here doing way more than just "giving his opinion" when it comes to Drake. Stop it
but in this case was not a negative thing.. do you like soccer?@@Okeke123321
Also Eddie was obviously trolling Low because - well, it’s Low.
The difference between an industry plant and any other signed artist is that a plant is marketed to be "independent" for optics, but they have connections and resources or are signed. Most people have no problem with people being signed and having a machine behind them. They problem is that they are marketed as an independent artists or an artist with no funding/backing. The problem with the term is that ppl tend to use it for ppl who aren't plants, so then when someone is a plant no one takes it seriously.
NICKI THE QUEEN OF HIP HOP🔥🔥🔥🔥🦄👊
Just wanted to show love. I enjoy Rap Life review I stay lookin forward to watching you guys weekly. E congrats on the new born. The rest of y'all stay safe out there.
30min, steady! We nicely moving into that good hour spot where we hopefully unpack the music more and talk about the *real* lesser known but more lyrical side that's slowly climbing through again
S/o to the gentlemen in studio today...
Y'all give this platform the justice it deserves👍🏾🤙🏾
4 batz manager is literally a creative director at rca records and has worked creating content for post malone etc
What does that mean though?
Industry plant means “This new artist that I don’t think is talented is becoming successful faster than I think they deserve. Obviously the ‘industry’ is MAKING me notice them against my will.”
Presently taking time and concentrating on the knowledge given
Another great Ep. 👌🏾
Ebro actually said some right. Eddie trippin tryna deny a lil Wayne drake collab.
I love Low’s heated rants. But he’s right, just cuz you don’t like a song doesn’t mean you hate the person or hating on the song.
This was a really great conversation/episode 👏🏽
Buddy: "What is an industry plant"
Us: huh?!?
Him: I just love Cardi
Us: ah ok, that explains it 😐
Fire episode 💯💯🔥🔥🥵🥵
Older man Ebro always giving wisdom
Dope Content As Always
shout out to Lowkey.
Make up your mind Low it’s either you want new Drake or u don’t , ain’t no other way around it!!!😂😂
Low can unapologetically tell the truth about his taste in the music that’s current. It’s apart of the entertainment value for him to be transparent about whatever he likes. We’re looking for hosts to have passionate takes even if it is considered “hate”. Never change, Low. 😂
I wish i had a song with drake 🐘
I first heard this industry plant chat when Drake and Wiz were blowing up and they were unsigned but moving like they had label backing. The reasoning at the time was that even labels wanted to cash in on this new internet/ blog fueled market where guys could "independently" blow up to a certain level and then the label could officially step in and draft them. You guys are industry guys who know that everyone works with a budget and connects but the fans want that sense of organic growth, that story.
Respect for the New Music Cartel. 💯
i think an industry plant is an artist that markets themselves as authentic/underground/independent but clearly follows trends/what the industry thinks consumers want
The fact that this came out 10 hrs ago and doesn’t even have 300 likes or 1k comments 😂 really shows how much people watch the show
Lil×Drake is always Massive
Time for some new artists to take the stage
@@KYLETISZAI yea but d lil×Drake Combo is outta dis world ❤️
5:57 ITS NOT THERE!! good job Low.
Ebro where can I buy that hoody
How I watch on Apple Music
for sure people are throwing the term industry plant out when they have no idea where an artist came from
Lowe is right about Wayne and Drake, Eddie is just being difficult.
nah man ya'll getting it wrong, here's an extract from the urban dictionary, ya'll gotta revisit this conversation fr
An industry plant is an artist who has Major/Indie Label backing their movement but presents themselves as a "home grown start up" label to create a pseudo organic following. They act as if things are miraculously happening for them based on their talent (via blog coverage, media coverage, mtv playing their vids, etc.) The reality is a low risk/high reward situation for labels looking to build the next "new star"
Lol love it!
how is a negative statment say "I do not like this" without trying to destroy that thing? I do not like something but I could respect it and is a positive statement say it with respect
I want EBRO to be the VP Strategy of my tiny independent music label !!!
26:07 !!!!! Nuff said
An industry plant is an artist that appears to be independent. This is non-negotiable. They have to appear to be independent and find there initial success during that "independent" phase. They have to be presented to the world as authentic in their art and representative of their demographic They appear to be self-created. Their rise seems to be organic and sponsorless. All the while this "independent" phase is actually funded and curated by a major label.
4batz for instance has a manager named Amber Ajee. She is an industry insider directly connected to RCA Records. If Amber Ajee took 4batz to record labels and presented him to money men and found sponsorship for his music with the express intent of pretending that this step had not occurred, 4batz is an industry plant. The goal is to increase fan relatability and idolization. People don't often tell the story of how they came from a lot to achieve their dreams. People speak of coming from nothing.
11:20 yes MOST OF THESE ARTISTS ARE INDUSTRY PLANTS. yall make my head hurt!!!! i wish i could be up there with yall
Now Eddie I was defending you last week not liking anything isn't negative it's an opinion.
An industry plant refers to the very quick ascent of an artist without any visible growth over the years. From the audience's point of view, they feel pressured into accepting and supporting an artist who may or may not have put in the work to get there. It just feels sus...otherwise, no one would mention it.
The truth is, 4batz has 4 singles out on streaming platforms doing crazy numbers, the earliest is from last year...and no one really knows the full backstory (might as well make peace with the idea that it may never be told).
Best to let the music speak for itself-time will always tell if an artist has what it takes to endure.
Grown men talking about Cardi that long is wild, it’s not that serious guys doesn’t need a whole segment
"Thats a Lie, There's a difference" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
i hope you guys read this: an industry plant from my observation, through all the comments ive seen about it, seem to be someone who has gotten "certain opportunities" open up for them because of their connections prior to signing a major deal. For example, Billie Eilish where her parents were both actors... as oppose to this other girl i personally know, with a voice objectively as good as Billie but lives on the east side of canada and no one have ever heard of accept for us few who found her on tiktok lol...
I'm not saying something is wrong with using your connections... just saying i think that's what people understand to be an industry plant.
aaaand nadeska dissappears again, at least eddie back so whatever fr 😂
Wayne and Drake would drop an all r&b song just because it hasn't been done
I think part is the pushed narrative about success and status. Like how they used 4 bats he automatically skipped to the level of Kanye and Drake co signs
Drake def backed up one of Lo's gyal 😭
TALK ABOUT IT B
THE SIX RAN THROUGH SOME STUFF
people are not dumb an industry plant doesn't have a past
you can be successful overnight if you have money and connection
it's sad to see how people are told what to listen to
the people that should protect artists are the ones who create and support these plants for profit
numbers can be easily manipulated
We need an ‘ignant Shit’… but the album🏆
lets talk about That Mexican OT!!
Low is trying to have it both ways tho
First Drake drops too much and he needs to take a break, now he doesn’t mind the idea of a Drake/Wayne album.
Were you dropped on your head as a child?
@@default3252 shut up
Welcome to the Drake show sad😮
How’s it sad tf? He the biggest artist in the world keep talking bout him
Domani has 150,000 monthly listeners with 10 songs. 4batz with 13 million with 4 (ironically) songs. THE MATH AIN'T MATHING.
Make it make sense 😅
Speak on Carnival being #1…. I’ll wait
Drake hopped on Versace early.. Migos weren't industry plants
Ebro asked the audience “impetus” like we know what that means 😂 industry plant really only applies to artists that fit into the “industry agenda” like spreading violence or sex in certain communities
crazy that i'm here 4th
A industry plant is easy to see tbh
This light skin guys, don’t know his name is hating so bad, he is always on the edge like he need some ( Pssy), imagine a new artist looking forward to listen to Rap life and this is the type of review LO is giving.
New artist that doesn’t want to be in the spotlight
Industry plant has a negative connotation to it. If you’ve never heard of them, they blow up in a short time, they have records and features with big artistes, constantly fed to the public in various media and are signed to major labels in a short time.
It also doesn’t make the person appealing long term because people like to have a personal connection to what they like most of the time not everytime though
It makes the person not seem authentic and they do not have a loyal fanbase which can make their downfall easier because they’re for everybody and nobody at the same time.
And they could keep recycling the same beats and sounds because of the fear of losing their appeal and that prevents them from exploring new sounds.
NFS if he dies after the album the industry something else
Где Jazmin Bean?
He just called J. Cole a young man. I never want to hear Nicki Minaj is old. And yes I brought Nicki Minaj up 😂😂
Industry Plant is an untalented artist that is being pushed like s/he is great
Thats why Drake wont do a album with Wayne, he gonna be outshine by Wayne
I don't think Jack Harlow was a industry plant tho
Imo an industry plant is someone who fits a trend at the time and has never made their own art strictly for the love of it, gets big off one song because the industry pushes them into the limelight and algorithm and bullshit, then that artist drops an album after the fact because the industry gave them a platform off a trend that they fit in during the time. Most obvious ones are Ice Spice and Cardi B. I aint trashin them or mad at em, go get your bag and I support you. But its very obvious both of those girls are attractive and shake ass during their mediocre songs and get all the pull because of it. Its wrong imo
There are struggling artists that truly care about the art of it and dont get even a fraction of the love. Perfect examples are guys like Schoolboy Q who is an amazing artist and will never win a grammy but Cardi somehow beats astroworld, swimming, damn, etc. or even up and coming artists like Kenny Mason who makes amazing art and cant even get off the ground. Its sad to me that we dont value the art over the appearance
And I understand the point of this is for commerce. The house always wins and the industry needs to get paid, I get it. But I dont like this new culture of everything always being about the money. I wish we could just admire the art itself for the beauty it brings instead of always doing it for a dollar sign. Greed is ruining everything
Ebro please speak on payola….I’ll wait
Ebro a fool for acting like he don’t know what a plant is 😂😂
Ebro's Soundcloud analogy is EXACTLY what an industry plant is. Y'all spent 20 minutes pretending not understand what it is LOL. Cappin...
Why is the low key guy so angry? He should visit a dentist first
Low is just so easy to rattle
replace low
i feel like yall be provoking low…
9:24 YALL 2 DOING TO MUCH
LOW don't like Drake 😂😂wassup bro bout you don't like him
Chillas in 🇿🇦
Too stubborn to admit Kanye and Ty Dolla got the summer!!! Vultures vol#2 destroying everything.
Huh? Are you high? Tf
These old heads suck and it shows with the lack of views. Apple needs to do better!
Y’all are supposed to be experts on hip hop yet praising this trash that Cardi has released. I cant believe yall sometimes.
Lowkey is acting a little crazy, like why homie this pressed.
Both of these Cardi tracks are complete garbage. You can’t even understand what she is saying. The bars are weak and repetitive. It’s trash. I want yall to be forreal!
