For Indian road conditions SUVs are the best compared to Sedan...SUV has more suspension functionally by size than sedans....for highways Sedans are the best...
Dont forget the automotive manufacturers are not idiots to manufacture SUV vehicles over Sedans just because the customer segment prefers it

Nice explanation. Sedan is always better than suv for similar price range in comfort and driving handling. Below 20 lakh SUV are mini trucks only with very less feeling of luxury.They are not SUV but MUV, smaller version of SUV.SUV is best if buy for tuner or endeavour etc. No comparison with them. for indian conditions for potholes, speed breakers,water in underpass during rains SUV is better.If most of time vehicle is in highway or city then sedan is best.

Only reasons i have to ignore sedans are 1) ground clearance ( because im a rough driver) and 2) it helps a lot in rainy season where your roads in city gets drowned in floods and car doesnt get stuck in it like many smaller hatchbacks.😅
If u check SLAVIA there ground clearance is approx 180 Which is equivalent to suv 😊

Both are silly reasons..!!! First ...if you are a rough driver...you should be ashamed of yourself...!!! Second Rain happens once or twice a year to cause floods if any...if at all...You are saying as if it floods every day...or week..

I also own a hatchback which i had to pay a hefty bill for repairs because of floods. True, like you said rains happen in limited time frame in a year but it always poses a threat towards cars
We need compact sedans. There we get hatchbacks with extended boot. Sedans are too big and not everyone needs 520 Ltrs bootspace. Amaze hss 400 Ltrs bootspace and that too is sufficient for most. But we not getting higher GC car like Virtus in Compact Sedan segment with 1.5 Ltr engine option. Not everyone has budget to extend so better we get Compact Sedans as well with performance engines. Either 1.2 Ltr 4 cylinder GDI engine or 1.5 Ltr 4 cylinder NA engine option. And there too we should start getting full hybrid or CNG option.

Please consider following factors:
1. Road condition where you will be driving the car mostly (60-70% of the times).
2. After sales service in your area which is very important factor.
If I compare these two cars you mentioned, on good road conditions I will go with City which offers better mileage and comfort. You may also have a look at Volkswagen virtus which is a very good sedan and competes with city, but mileage will be a bit lower than City.

If you need more number of seats, then go for Ertiga. Ciaz is far better looking family car than Ertiga. So, if you are okay with sedan, go for CIAZ.

Jyadatar EV ka range 200-300 kms hai single charge ke bad… wo bhi on paper. So, 250 kms on highway Boht challenging hoga Aapke liye.. Boht plan karke chalana padega aur hamesha anxiety Rehga..
Diesel cars ki future bright nahi dikhraha hai due to new emission norms aur kafi sare manufacturers discontinue kar rahe hai diesel cars.
So, in my opinion, Aapke liye CNG best hai.. but thoda Boht performance aur bootspace compromise karna padega. Company fitted CNG cars ke engine Boht acche se tuned hote hai aur aapke jo running hai usme Boht jaldi cost recover ho ke aap fuel me Boht save kar payenge.

Cng availability is an issue along with the waiting time. Though you can run on petrol, it completely defeats purpose of mileage...

Finally somebody has applied there mind....for road driving an suv has no meaning. It is actually less comfortable than a sedan consumes more fuel.
Body roll in suv gives you more driving fatigue.
Verna 2023 vs MG astor 2023 which ones is better in 20 lakhs.
I would go for Verna as I prefer the comfort of sedan!

Ground clearance is very important nowadays because everyone wants to go to hills and hills pe ground clearance bhut important h.
In our country none of the affordable sedans are full size sedans, there are merely an elongated hatchback.
Skoda superb, Octavia, slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna?

Sedan vs SUVSUV has only one advantage ie HIGHER GROUND CLEARANCE .That can handle the road bumps effectively. But high ground clearance makes it unstable as compared with Sedan.
Sedan has the biggest advantage that its safer than SUV because of better balance due to LOW GROUND CLERANCE. Sedans are better in balance, low in body roll better in aerodynamics as compared with SUV.
Sedans are better in mileage because of its aerodynamic body.
SUV can perform better for off road driving. But Sedan is meant for city and highway driving.
All SUV's rear row seats are not comfurtable enough in case of LONG DRAWING..3-5 hours non stop driving. Rear seat middle passager always feel uneasiness while seating on bumpy seat .. But Sedan rear are all time more comfurtable for rear sitting passengers.
Sedan has better boot space and its always a better family vehicle than SUV.
All SUVs in India are scam. No SUV is SUV unless it has 4 wheel drive mechanism.
Chances of ovetrning at sharp turn at speed Sedan normally never losts balance whereas SUVs may easily overturn because of high body roll.
SUV normally considered a choice of less matured people whereas because of Premium image sedans are considered choice of people who are sensible and matured enough.

One thing you did not mention is that since sedan has boot/ trunk space on back, this give more safety to passengers sitting on back in case any vehicle hit the sedan from back.

Indians are not practical buyers.... Most SUVs sold in India are not really SUVs they are just cross over. Most people who those buy SUVs never really go off road. On the other hand Sedans are fuel efficient, elegant and stable on highway and city...

Unfortunately, barring Dezire & Amaze, all other sedans have increased their 'Length' by @ 300mm, in their new versions ( Honda City/Verna/Slavia, Virtues/Ciaz)!!
Honda City 4th Gen., Rapid/Vento, or Verna, came with bigger engines(1.5,1.2TSI,1.6), & short length( @4400mm), making NEW SEDAN'S IMPRACTICAL IN CITIES!!
in any Indian city, roads are so choked, that you can't overtake an auto( Three wheeler) , on a two wheeler!! How will you drive a 4700mm sedan car? I feel, 4400 was the optimum length!!!
Wrong planning/ design by all car makers!!! Honda City 4th Gen, Verna, or Rapid/ Vento's length were Optimum, for Indian road conditions.
Buying decisions of These new, longer sedans will be affected by their LENGTH,
Whereas, shorter sedans like Dezire, & amaze will sell like hot cakes, despite their small engines!!🎉

sedan segment is really cool for driving but the fact is we in INDIA doesnt do justice to sedan culture.. most of time i think that compact SUV is a joke... there is SUV sedan and hatchback ... the compact suv r waste but here we want budget yet suv so it works.. its also a reason y GMC-JEEP-TOYOTA pure suv;s doesnt work here.. thnx to safari-scorpio-fortuner they have kept alive SUV alive..and thnx to city-slavia-verna for sedan

My experience is the opposite of what you suggest in this video. I'm a tall person and find much more comfort in SUVs than sedans. That's so cos when you're tall, if you sit on a seat with low height (like in a sedan), it leads to more lower back fatigue (because of how biomechanics works). In sedans a tall person sits like a frog. However in SUVs seats are higher and therefore not hard for the lower back. That means much less fatigue even in long travel. This is not about the seat's plushness or design, but about the height (and so, if you're hips are in line with your knees or even a bit higher)
But I don't see this issue being tackled somehow any time soon. I imagine that low height cars (basically any car that is not an SUV) may be less comfortable overall for people who are tall and especially more so if they're also thin.
But Indian roads demand SUV. Roads here are unpredictable.
I don't know , i am a tall person, i found a sedan more comfortable than a SUV especially in long rides
@@sony5244 Oh. If the roads are good then Sedan is perfect. I travel a lot for leisure during my free time and roads in India are a mix of good and bad. I get jerks in my Honda City but when I took a ride in my friend's Breeza it was so smooth. Tough choice.
@@sony5244 Well, there are different kinds of bodies. Subjective experience does decide things a lot in car choices. I have not sat in the new Wagon-R yet, but I imagine it might be the best I may be able to handle seat-height-wise out of any hatchback or sedan.

Sedan and hatchback come in different price bracket.
But yes, you will get better performance in premium hatchback than entry level sedans like Dzire, xcent and amaze. Because entry level sedans have same engine of a hatchback with larger boot space, so car power drastically drops.
