That is one hell of a Chevy Chase impression.
its as bad as he is
Chevy's actor is streets ahead!
He also played the riddler on Gotham
I was pleased to see him in something new. He was in my mind the best version of The Riddler to date.
Now I gotta rewatch community
@@Kyle-2020 Do me a favour. Gotham was a terrible show after season 1.
@@Kyle-2020Gotham had quite a few of what I would consider the best live action versions of the characters. Riddler, Alfred, and dr strange were all amazing. Joker and penguin were amazing too though there’s definitely some competition for best ever.
as someone who has never once laughed at snl in my entire life this movie is literally good. people are overthinking this too much where is the joy in your heart
Dude went from riddles to jokes huh
great reference
@@Benlipman-dd8szat least he isnt an astronaut in this one RIP
Michael O'Donoghue is one of the people sorely missed on today's SNL. Everyone talks about the cast, and I can understand why. But his writing helped make that show what it was back in the day.
Best movie ever and to see chevy chase younger self before he became a movie actor
So, the only movie that exists covering this?
@@23jakesmith23Well there was a futile and stupid gesture with Joel McHale playing Chevy
Best movie ever? This was literally the dumbest movie I've seen in years.
This movie needed a Christopher Nolan ticking clock soundtrack
This movie does need to exist 😂😂
That’s what I was thinking when watching.
Ive only seen these vids and the trailer and was positive thats how this movie was going to be lol
I must say I’m weirded out by the likenesses in this movie
Cory Michael Smith as a young Chevy Chase was such a great casting choice, but he’s still a younger Edward Nygma/ The Riddler from Gotham to me.
Oh snap I just realized the Chevy actor was the guy who played the riddler in Gotham 😮 awesome actor.
I thought he looked familiar what a switch up he looks bigger as Chevy I haven't watched the movie but the way he carries himself in every clip I got man I hate this guy. He nailed Chevy
Outstanding impersonations.
The guy nail it portraying Chevy
That, "This is my show" said by Lorne in this scene was SPOT ON and I immediately heard the "Saturday TV Funhouse" intro play in my head right after he said it. 😂😂😂
I got Pavlov'd, couldn't help but hear the whole dang theme song
@schewepepepes SAME! LOL!!!
Guy sounds just like Chevy
Not in a million years
I love that the room is full of cigarette and cigar smoke when he opens it. Crazy that buildings like 30 Rock had people smoking in it 24/7 it for like 50 solid years.
I wonder how long it took for it to no longer smell like that? If you went in there in the ‘90s after indoor smoking was banned, there’s no way it didn’t still smell like a casino. I imagine people were still smoking inside behind closed doors for years until it became socially taboo.
you can actually watch a documentary james franco made about how an episode gets produced and you can see a few times the writers still smoke in their offices, they just blow it out a window
They actually still smoke on the 17th floor but shhhhhh.
Cheddar Cheese
Smelly but can't resist having it
God this movie is so good
It's humble of you to not ask much of life.
hahahahahaha
its painfully bad
It’s ok
Not really
You must love cringey things. This is the most embarrassing movie I've seen in many years. Awful is an understatement.
Ohio stays catching strays I see even 50 years ago 😂😂😂😂
Sadly, Chevy is a huge narcissist and a jerk. It is extremely difficult to find anyone who knows him who will say anything positive about him.
I think his family seem to like him and others have a mixed experience I think. I don’t know if it’s always as simple as they are bad totally. People sometimes are complicated. Doesn’t change the fact that he’s very funny and has made really good films.
Paul Simon is friends with Chevy and some of the cast members from Vacation and fletch series have made positive comments towards him
Norm liked him
Plus Lorne Michaels is friends with Chevy and Bill Murray (post 1980) now likes him, so there's still people who have high regard for him it's not everybody who hates him
@2ndchannel-r7c ignoring him is not bullying that's just refusing to listen, either way doing so definelty gave Chris the ticket to direct home alone
I wish the actual Chevy was this funny on his own show..
Wait Chevy"s actor is Nygma in Gotham!!!????
Corey Michael Smith yes
Movie wasn’t as good as I thought it’d be, the score was top notch though
It’s not on Netflix on the 25th…😮
Damn, anti-aging medicine has come a long way fast.
Ok
The actor who plays Lorne is a bit weak, but otherwise this looks pretty good.
Was Lorne Michaels EVER that good of an actor? It’s harder to tell now with all those fillers lol!
arguably that makes this whole thing bad because its centered around lorne.
Every time I hear a Lorne impression it sounds a bit like Dr. Evil and if I recall correctly that's who Mike Myers modeled it after. I didn't hear it here.
@ that’s because this is not a tv sketch comedy show. It’s a movie based on the show in and of itself. So yes Lorne Michaels is going to sound generic as hell because even though he has an eye for talent, both in tv acting and in tv comedy, he is a really boring individual (most Jewish Republicans kind of are). Also, everyone knows Mike Myers based Doctor Evil on Lorne Michaels. It isn’t that “interesting” of a tidbit… nor is doing ANY Austin Powers film character impressions!
@ mike did dana carvys impression of lorne for his evil voice.
Cory Michael Smith is from Ohio so that's a coincidence
When is the funny bit?
I watched this movie for 20 minutes and turned it off. Maybe it's a true a depiction of the actual characters and events, and the actors seemed to get the people they were playing down pretty well, but the characters in it were so smug I just couldn't finish it.
Chevy Chase is an icon, he’s a character. He’s on 24/7, that’s how celebrities like that were back in the day. They understood what people wanted to see and they gave it to them. Chevy plays charismatic, egotistical jerks and he portrays one in real life too… for you. Acting is a craft, it’s putting on a show to entertain people. You think Tom Cruise isn’t Tom Cruise 24/7 too? That’s the difference between normal people and real stars, which don’t exist in young celebrities nowadays, they shined everywhere they’d go and every room they would walk in. We’ll likely never have that again in entertainment or Hollywood. Charisma is a special thing, you’re either born with it or you’re not.
So does that excuse Chevy Chase how? You just said a crazy handful of nothing.
Am I tripping or is this not even a Chevy chase impersonation
This doesn’t feel like a real movie lol
What does that mean? 😅
@ it feels fake?
It's cheap parody with bad writing, inserting fake drama in, in lieu of substance.
@@jeremyapache so it feels like a fake movie? Lol movies are already fake that’s why it’s a movie
@ I have no idea what’s confusing you, but I suggest moving past it lmao
That was not a good impersonation of Chevy
It's close, but it's too cold and robotic. Chevy had a natural warmth to temper his sarcasm
It's not close.
@@arriuscalpurniuspisoTrue. Chevy would not have been the big star of SNL if he acted like that
Wow, it even started out lame
Poor directing in this scene and poor acting by the guy who plays Lorne Michaels. There should be more natural timing in the dialogue between the two characters. Both actors are immediately regurgitating their lines as soon as the other stops which comes across as very un-natural. Common pitfall nowadays in films as the assumption is that the audience has no patience.
all ex Starbaucks baristas talking real fast over you? probably a bad habit they picked up!!
The movie wanted you to feel panic. Its written from Lorne's perspective, he was a nervous wreck and before he became the powerhouse he is today, he was nervous wreck. I thought the movie did a good job showing how Lorne viewed himself and how he thought about the task of creating the first ever variety show written for and by young people.
Go watch The Natural (1984) and cry again ya boomer
damn mikedavis9244 with another awful take, common pitfall for a man who doesn't really know anything lmao
Thank God you're not a director
this is terrible
It always takes me out of a scene when people who don't smoke, smoke in movies. They do weird things with there hands when smoking. you can tell this guy (Chevy) has rarely smoked. nobody holds a cigerette and take a puff like that.
Türkiye cumhuriyeti Vatandaşı
Could this movie be any worse. Its almost as bad as SNL has been the last 30 years
Fr SNL hasn't been funny since [Insert year op stopped being a teenager here]
Who's supposed to be Chevy? Nobody in this video looked or sounded like him.
He sounds like Chevy but nowhere near as good looking
Cringe biopic
This is such a cheap parody. Yeesh.
You know SNL is on its way out; you know it to be true- the film is a goodbye letter. And it’s about damn time, SNL hasn’t been funny in 15 years
um, is the whole movie this terrible ?
This movie was really bad. Very inaccurate and the actors just I don’t know. The older I get, the more I don’t care about these “biopics”
It’s not bad, you just don’t like it.
No one could tell SNL was ever this edgy by the politically correct show they make today..
It's rated G now. The cast is too young. They act like high school kids. And the cast is too big. Like 30 rotating players. At this point I can only name Keenan and Bowen. And Keenan is so played out
yeah this movie is not good and if you think it is good it's because your the midwit SNL fan who claps like a seal for this kind of thing just because it has SNL on the tin
spend your time commenting somewhere else then
*you're
@ericlumsden4266 ??? He used your properly. You wouldn't say spend you are time elsewhere.
@@ericlumsden4266 🎉
@@GpG-dt4suwrong comment, numb-nuts. He’s referring to the OP comment “your the midwit SNL fans who claps” which should use the word “you’re”, not “your”. He is correct.
The constant chaotic hippie music is beyond annoying.
Yes, I know it’s trying to convey the chaos of the original show in the early days, but I don’t care.
Lorne lefty
1:49 He forgot to say his favourite thing about Ohio? He took a drag of his cigarette but then moved on. Bad editing
That was the joke.
Found Ohio lover in the comments XD
