I just watched your Write Now interview with Drew on the Goulet channel. This is the first video of yours I've checked out. I very much enjoy your style and structure. I will be sharing this with my husband because I think he will enjoy it as well. Your review of the Avatar UR is SPOT ON! This is the first Dante Del Vecchio pen I've been able to afford. I fell in love with the Avatar UR from Dante's reveal of it with Brian on Goulet's channel. The near indestructibily of the UR and the glueless engineering drew me to this pen immediately. I purchased it the INSTANT it was available! It has been my FAVORITE and most recommended pen ever since. So much so that I ordered the Demo Amber version the day I saw it's Write Now debut...I'm expecting to receive it today or tomorrow and can't wait! One comment regarding your review...while this nib is supposedly a standard Boch nib, my guess is that Peneider must do some fine tuning to them before fitting them on the Avatars and releasing them for sale. I have a few entry level gold nib pens, and many steel nib pens. My Avatar is by far the smoothest of all of them! This was a big part of my immediately ordering a demo version (along with the continued use of the UR and glueless engineering). And I completely agree with your assessment of the importance of a unique clip that ties a brand or line together. I happen to love the clip on the Avatar. I think everything about this pen exudes elegance and beauty. Thanks again for your spot on and entertaining review. I will most definitely be subscribing and watching others.
It was fascinating to watch Delvecchio assemble an Avatar from 13 pieces with a HAMMER in front of Brian Goulet. He struck the Avatar several times with the hammer and not a mark. Amazing.
@@InkquiringMinds Yes it did. Pause and look carefully at the last hammer strike on the avatar. Someone in the comments has also screen grabbed it. It is clear that the barrel cracks and then Goulet flips it over so that it does not show. The devil is in the details.
Another Great video. I just received my Avatar. They may have changed their design a bit because the cap fits tightly and the ring holding the magnet is smooth and does not scratch the grip even after 100 test uncappings. With those issues fixed, I find the pen to be perfect.
I picked up the Avatar at Goulet Pens as soon as it was available. I use it as my edc pen now and have had no issues. Like Roy says the cap does rattle a bit but I have not had it come off accidentally ever. It writes great and I use it at work everyday.
I currently suck at cursive writing. I've been working on my printed writing. But, have yet to tackle my cursive. I will now go and try to unsuck at it. :D
Appreciate the review, insights and comments. One question regarding the magnet that I've not seen addressed. While the magnet is described as strong enough to keep the cap from flying off (good!), is it also strong enough to keep the BODY of the pen attached in a deep pocket? I can just see the clip valiantly holding the cap to my shirt -- while the ink blithely leaks out of the corner of the pocket.
keep drawing. you dont have to be good at something to love it. and being bad doesn't mean you should stop. Cause if that were true, 99 percent of dudes should have stopped having sex after their first time.
Gee Roy, I already pulled the trigger on this one! Thus far, I've just been looking at it; ya know top on, top off, top on, etc.😊. One day soon, I'll wash it out & ink it up. 😁 Thanks for a great review, Roy!
This pen is a bargain. I agree with you about the "ugly" about the pen. However. Pictures does no justice for it. To know that it is scratch resistant and won't break easily. That gives you a piece of mind. I ordered my second one. I would like to see additional colors then the ones they came out with.
Thanks for another amazing review Roy. You never fail to do a thoughtful and comprehensive review with humor and that all us caveman wannabe people love. I'm for sure going to save up some nickel and dime for this one ( trust me, without me smokes you don't want to be near me).
The pen is great value for money, my only gripe is that it's slightly too feedbacky and almost pencil like making it very unforgiving to slightly rough papers. Also the EF isn't like a true EF and is more like a F to me
I suck at cooking actual meals. If I don't have a recipe you might as well make a dog do it. Off I go to be betterer, to quote the great Pen Boy Roy, "I got good words..."
Ahhh! Enough skinning. Just finished Murakami’s we’re a character is skinned alive. Still vividly racketing in the hallways of my brain. Actually angel skin is a color category of coral. Still pretty creepy.
You should check out the Avatar Demos that just came out. They still have a metal grip, but they've added a thin rubber sleeve over the grip. Should make writing with it more comfortable and less off-putting for those that don't like metal grips.
Definitely looking forward to your review on this pen. I had my eye on it and knew your review style would give me what I need to know.
underrated channel loved this review
I laughed out at the angel skin part 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'm worried about the angel! What did pineider do to them!
Mike Hostetler my point exactly!!

Actually the pen broke at the last hammer strike of that video.
@@GPngts No. They purposely broke a regular resin barrel to demonstrate. The Avatar did not break.

According to one of my administrators, I suck at everything, but said admin never sees any good in any employee in their department 🤔

Does anybody know if the Pneider Avatar can keep up with ink flow with a Bock broad or 1.1 stub nib unit?
I suck at owning just one pen
That almost sounds like you are saying it is a bad thing
me too. it really sucks.
It looks incredible! Question - what is the difference between the Avatar to Avatar UR ? And Thank you for another amazing review!
If you had to choose only one, this or the Visconti Rembrandt, which would it be?
+tl K hmmmm... tough call... I say... yes!

I suck at drawing. Trying to teach myself, but have problems practicing regularly.

How’s the balance/weight when posted?
In an interview with Brian Goulet, Dante assembled a Pneider pen, showing how he does it without glue.
I just bought one of these pens today, directly from Dante Del Vecchio. I even got a certificate signed by him. I love the pen and he is awesome!
Doubt you will see this as the video is 4yo but "angel skin" may refer to angel skin coral as it is pink rather than red.
Saw it!!!

Oh yeah, I suck at any number of things, which my darling wife is aware of & STILL loves me. 😙
Amazing penmanship !!!

Can't wait for mine to arrive. 😅
This vid is cool. Ameliorate.. that’s a good word.
I'd prefer all reviewers to say "Let's talk coin" when they talk about price from now on.
A shorter list would have been: what I don't suck at . . .
Beautiful clip.
Oh my god I also thought Dante looked like Anthony Hopkins!

Roy not all psycho like skin and the human body for instance people who don’t like pineider probably don’t like anything.
I like the Smurf skin, but it seems to me Pineider is a bit overpriced
My handwriting sucks!
I would buy this pen in a second but metal grip section is a no no.
