On making a Voltage Controlled Amplifier (really, here, a Current Controlled Amplifier) with an Operational Transconductance Amplifier. This is a test run consisting me of improvising with a Wacom tablet, drawing using Sketchbook Free and capturing video and audio with Quicktime.
thanks. the simple statement that an OTA is not a normal op amp was so helpful. please do more vids on this

thanks a lot
You are quite welcome! I have a playlist for the full course up here now: ruclips.net/video/mYk8r3QlNi8/видео.html
Thanks so much. OTAs mystified me for the longest time (I think I posted to [sdiy] asking about them even.) Can't wait for the next part. I feel like a lot of VCAs eschew OTAs for other techniques though--I assume this is because of noise/distortion concerns?
Exactly! That's why people use dbx/THAT chips in compressors, and you generally only see OTAs used in guitar pedal compressors.
I have my full course up here now: ruclips.net/video/mYk8r3QlNi8/видео.html
yes please, do that follow up.
Here's the complete playlist for the course: ruclips.net/video/mYk8r3QlNi8/видео.html
working with the IL300 vishay photo isolation device, the op amp description is poor. However this OTA info helps a lot. Thanks. :)
You are welcome! The full course I up now: ruclips.net/video/mYk8r3QlNi8/видео.html
Please please please do part 2, all the written material on OTA's is incredibly dry.
I just posted a greatly refined version: ruclips.net/video/96j2tNKFCPI/видео.html

@@Lantertronics Thank you so much for letting me know, your videos are absolutely fantastic.
Great teaching. Your artwork is nearly as bad as myn. I am used to seeing perfect penmanship and freehand drawings that are better than my work with templates.
Heh, yeah, my handwriting is crap. ;)
I have a new version of the lecture up that's done in powerpoint and much nicer looking: ruclips.net/video/96j2tNKFCPI/видео.html
