Just buy a redmi device which has a huge custom rom support (all new devices now a days get good developers btw) and use that for software experience , nothing os just has a different font ,nothing launcher(which is available in google playstore so you can use in any rom),and that big ass toggles in quick settings which are useless. The rom I am using rn has many many customisation and features as compared to NothingOS. Also you can just buy a Motorolla device for software experience and it will have better specs than nothing in that range too. So Nothing phone(1) just gets limited to design only .
Being an mechanical engineer I like this review most because it's purely based on practical usage, Phone Value against price, Unbiased elaboration of pros as well as cons , thumbs up for that . No doubt the addition of info regarding the Service Center was definitely great. That's one thing which people aren't focusing on and the RUclipsrs too. I mean I am not saying that the brand is bad but if something happens to my phone and the Customer support guy or Service Center people know NOTHING about the Nothing Phone (1) then what will I do 😅.

Thanks for the great review, decided to get the phone. The phone’s design is excellent, it looks like an iPhone but that’s a compliment. The specs basically make it a really good jack of all trades but a master of none. In my country the price is pretty competitive. The near stock android experience is a massive plus. The biggest issue I have with the phone is that it does not include a charger in the box, Nothing should of added it. The only additional feature I wish the phone included was an LTPO display to help the battery life but I personally haven’t seen a midrange phone with the feature

*Finally an honest review after all the promotional videos.* Sd 778G, 120Hz display etc is already there on something like Galaxy M52 @ 20k and Galaxy A52's with ip-67 rating @27k with good over-all camera's, headphone jack etc. Something like S20Fe 5g @33k is way ahead if you care about camera's, performance, display, Ip-68 rating etc. *Nothing phone 1 is neither trying to be a balanced all-rounder device nor it's for performance users, their main usp is clean UI and glyph interface design.* Cheers.

Service centre is too early to say a con but yeah new company so not very good. Other things agreed completely. They should have either given the charger or included it for free for pre orders

No, if you have watched Carl's video he said he wanted to create an ecosystem within Android which will easily accessible to first party and third party devices. That's what he meant but people thought he is comparing his phone/brand with apple.
@vishalsharma Not overpriced for me as I got this phone in 30500 with back case. Considering Chinese phone as they sell at lower prices but with ads and bloatware. Their software experience is poor filled with bugs and untimely updates. And this phone was not meant for heavy users who spent more time while playing games. Chipset is not everything. They provided update as soon as you boot first time. And in coming future they will improve camera and UI.

My 3+ year old LG V30+ with 1. SD 835 (works like charm with 144 apps) 2. 2k poled curved display 3. Premium built 4. IP 67 rating 5. Wireless charging 6. 3.5 mm headphone jack 7. Quad dack 8. OIS in rear camera In 17600 rs. seems much better than the nothing phone 🤦😅

Glyph itself is a big gimmick along with 'transparent' back design which is actually not transparent. Glyph is very cringe. I would never keep my phone upside down on a desk and wait for someone to call me so that the lights start glowing in different patterns. It is so cringe and weird af

If I can't see, I can't use properly and I can't take pictures outside because I can't see properly what I'm capturing. Cameras are not that very good also. Speakers aren't loud so what's the use if I can't hear my phone ringing outdoors. Instead of wireless charging which no one uses, they could've provided charger in the box. How can you tell nothing os doesn't have bugs? We can't tell anything for atleast 1 month

And yes they should have avoided wireless charging and also have incresed the 33 W charging to 65 or more . Also about the software side I am not damn sure but have a strong hope from them and Carl . The reason I am attracted to nothing is tagt I have used xiomi & realmr for around 6 yrs and I have noticed there patterns how they bluff and cheat people by various bugs and worst customer service. Recently from 1 month my redmi note 9 Pro is just sucking me alot.

That service center part was brilliant. Even MKBHD ne bhi yeh cheez cover nahi kari. The phone is too heavy for me. 198 gms at 6.6 inch is too much. Moto Edge 30 is still the best phone in this range.

This phone is giving almost flagship experience with features like Wireless charging , no chin display ( that's expensive ) , Aluminium frame , Best of Android nd what not... We should not defame it just because of SD 778G+ .. the design is also new and innovative... So we should appreciate Nothing for providing new .. even though it can be a gimmick feature for some. The price is also considerable because it's w/o bloatware.
Your reviews are always great.. thank you for the review..but this phone cannot be praised because of it's overprice and no charger in the box. Most people don't need wireless chargers. So giving wireless charging and removing the charger is a third class job done by Nothing. If it was priced under 25k with charger in the box then it would have been a great deal.
870 won't give 4 software updates plus would have cost more . 870 is a expensive processor. Xiaomi and other companies can afford it because of scale. They sell so many smartphones that they can get better deals on chips cuz of wholesale orders.

No doubt the addition of info regarding the Service Center was definitely great. That's one thing which people aren't focusing on and the RUclipsrs too. I mean I am not saying that the brand is bad but if something happens to my phone and the Customer support guy or Service Center people know NOTHING about the Nothing Phone (1) then what will I do 😅.

Thanks for the great review, decided to get the phone. The phone’s design is excellent, it looks like an iPhone but that’s a compliment. The specs basically make it a really good jack of all trades but a master of none. In my country the price is pretty competitive. The near stock android experience is a massive plus. The biggest issue I have with the phone is that it does not include a charger in the box, Nothing should of added it. The only additional feature I wish the phone included was an LTPO display to help the battery life but I personally haven’t seen a midrange phone with the feature

Something like S20Fe 5g @33k is way ahead if you care about camera's, performance, display, Ip-68 rating etc.
*Nothing phone 1 is neither trying to be a balanced all-rounder device nor it's for performance users, their main usp is clean UI and glyph interface design.*

No, if you have watched Carl's video he said he wanted to create an ecosystem within Android which will easily accessible to first party and third party devices. That's what he meant but people thought he is comparing his phone/brand with apple.
@vishalsharma Not overpriced for me as I got this phone in 30500 with back case. Considering Chinese phone as they sell at lower prices but with ads and bloatware. Their software experience is poor filled with bugs and untimely updates. And this phone was not meant for heavy users who spent more time while playing games. Chipset is not everything. They provided update as soon as you boot first time. And in coming future they will improve camera and UI.
That's the feedback i really want .....not like other youtubers give wow lighting interface wowwww camera n all that.....u r giving real thought about the phone.... that's the reason i subscribe your channel

Glyph itself is a big gimmick along with 'transparent' back design which is actually not transparent. Glyph is very cringe. I would never keep my phone upside down on a desk and wait for someone to call me so that the lights start glowing in different patterns. It is so cringe and weird af

If I can't see, I can't use properly and I can't take pictures outside because I can't see properly what I'm capturing. Cameras are not that very good also. Speakers aren't loud so what's the use if I can't hear my phone ringing outdoors. Instead of wireless charging which no one uses, they could've provided charger in the box. How can you tell nothing os doesn't have bugs? We can't tell anything for atleast 1 month

The reason I am attracted to nothing is tagt I have used xiomi & realmr for around 6 yrs and I have noticed there patterns how they bluff and cheat people by various bugs and worst customer service.

Your reviews are always great.. thank you for the review..but this phone cannot be praised because of it's overprice and no charger in the box. Most people don't need wireless chargers. So giving wireless charging and removing the charger is a third class job done by Nothing. If it was priced under 25k with charger in the box then it would have been a great deal.
atleast under 28k. Considering the built quality, 25k with bank offer could have actually, been a blast
They should've gone with SD 870 and it would have exploded in the market. The 778G is a hype-killer. Oh, what could have been!
870 won't recieve long term support for Qualcomm
870 won't give 4 software updates plus would have cost more . 870 is a expensive processor. Xiaomi and other companies can afford it because of scale. They sell so many smartphones that they can get better deals on chips cuz of wholesale orders.
