Yeah I just got this video recommended today. Never been to this channel before, but would have 100% watched the first one when it came out if RUclips had recommended it to me. This is such a fun concept and I would personally love to see other gens.
It’s probably bc these “can you beat pokemon…” videos have been extremely outplayed in general so people already know the answer. Yes you can beat Pokémon with… anything
Yeah, it seems like the correlation between quality of video/challenge and number of views is very weak. This video is pretty much perfect imo (interesting/difficult challenge, good narration etc), definitely deserves more views. I'd sooner be looking up marketing/SEO strats than give up on this kind of content because it's definitely great quality
@@loulou3676 I'll be honest, I think the last one got a low reception probably has more to do with the offhand comment made earlier on about how the run petered out at the second gym. It makes sense to me that *that* one wouldn't pull many viewers, whereas this, a game that goes a much longer distance, would.
This is a really unique challenge concept. I was actually genuinely wondering if it was possible to complete the game! Thanks so much for taking the effort to go through with making this.
I feel bad that you felt the series tanked on views enough to not keep doing it cause it’s such a cool idea but it’s definitely tricky to title it and have it communicate what you’re doing
NGL, the most thought out, exciting yet relaxing, well edited, video. You are so good at these. I wish I could get a ETU video every day but I know these take insane time, preparation, and skill, and just want to say we appreciate it!
I genuinely think this is the most impressive video I've ever seen. Is there anything else other than like, subscribe, and comment I can do? Genuinely, you deserve something for this, it is amazing
this is my favorite challenge on RUclips, and I really enjoyed the first one as well. It’s a shame that they aren’t super popular, as I would love to see this in emerald
This might have been a bear to make, but it was a joy to watch. Thanks for being the only man bold enough to make it happen. Loved every minute of it, amazed you got there in the end. Well done, FJ, it was great.
This is incredible. I'm so sorry your videos don't get enough attention. As someone working on my own challenge, this is an amazing feat of dedication and patience. Thank you so much for not giving up. Keep fighting, dude! >=)
Man, this was absolutely insane. Your dedication to a challenge like this is unmatched by any other I've seen and you are a true inspiration! This video could have been 3 hours long and I would've watched it all. Thank you for the hard work and I was both surprised and happy to see the outcome at the end! Simply amazing.
This is equally incredible and insane. It was extremely satisfying to watch until the end. No one else could ever pull this off because they don't have the sheer determination and patience that you do. You honestly make the best videos. This one is now literally my favourite RUclips video of all time. Please keep it coming!
I always enjoy your longer form videos, but this one gave me a rising sense of anxiety throughout like I was watching a bridge collapsing in super slow-motion. Good stuff, excellent job.
Wow, this has to be one of the coolest Pokémon challenges I’ve ever seen. The amount of planning that went into this was insane and you did a fantastic job.
Now this is definitely an amazing run. I'm honestly shocked you made it all the way through (both in actually being possible and having the patience to grind out so many things).
Making sure I didn't look at the time bar at all during this video was the best decision as it meant I had literally no idea when it would come close to ending, so I was always on the edge of my seat
Great content as always my man! When I first saw this challenge in red i assumed from the title that each move was 1 PP per Pokemon. So you could use every pokemons move once before you have to go to the pokemon center. Which sounds way more doable, but seems like you are doing fine even with the far more difficult version.
Holy crud! This was so thrilling, especially towards the end! Congrats on making it all the way through! Very impressive! More people should see this!💕
Really... this is incredible... I am used to see crazy pokemon challenges and i never saw such ambitious run being succesful. I hope your channel gets more subscribers, you deserve it.
major props for the dedication you put into this challenge! i enjoy watching and mainly listening to these long vids from you especially at night, they help me fall asleep. 😌 love the effort, soothing voice and also that sweet alliteration at 17:16 👌🏼
Absolute mad lad, good job on beating Blaine's Blastoise! Seems to me most challenge runners stop after the Elite Four because "hurr, the credits rolled so the rest of the game doesn't count!", so it's refreshing to see someone go the extra mile, especially with such an insane challenge
Dude, that was SO IMPRESSIVE, I am in awe of the amount of effort and planning you put in to make that work and honestly I was holding my breath through that Red battle. Seriously congratulations on achieving this, what an incredible challenge!
I'm surprised to see that this challenge isn't more popular. Man, this is so interesting, stressful and enjoyable at the same time! I'd never imagined you could go further than one or maybe two gyms. Great video!
Sorry to hear this isn't more popular than it should be. This is absolutely amazing. For what it's worth, I think I speak for most people who watched this when I say I'm very grateful for this very cool concept and the time and effort you put into this. Much appreciated good sir!
And I'm really happy you got to complete the challenge! Even for someone who loves a good puzzle and a bit of strategy, my head hurts thinking about all the thinking this challenge needs! Well done - an excellent video! 👍
Ayy new ETU video!!!! Genuinely so blown away by all the effort u put into ur vids :') also this was the first challenge in a while where i genuinely had NO idea how itd go, huge kudos!!!!
Insane dedication! Huge congrats for the accomplishment and a big thanks for the entertainment. I'm certainly sad to hear we won't be getting any more of these but can understand it. Edit: I wrote this comment while you were on the Elite 4 and was entirely sure you wouldn't do the Kanto stuff. I can't fathom how much time the planning alone must've taken.
That was incredible! I can’t believe you managed to get to Red. I really like this challenge and I’m a bit sad you’re not going to continue it. But I also understand why, and it’s a shame this type of video isn’t more popular, you deserve plenty of recognition for this
That has to be one of if not the most impressive thing I've ever seen. The video is great and really entertaining! I can't imagine how difficult and long the run was. I can't wait to see what you have coming up.
I'm surprised this series isn't doing better, I loved it! Thanks for uploading, I really appreciate all the work you put into your vids, can't wait to see what you upload next ❤
The mere fact you dedicated this much heart and effort into a video without expecting much viewership in return earns a sub of respect in itself. Amazing job dealing with the very limited challenge as well, I couldn't even fathom planning for something like this. Also, Bronze was well worth it, he was the mascot of the challenge as far as I'm concerned
This was actually a SUPERB well done challenge, one that would not attempt ever, especially past E4+Champion, it's crazy hard challenge not only to plan but also to execute, truly an accomplishment. Congrats F.J.
This was seriously impressive from start to finish, and I thoroughly enjoyed both this and the first one! I understand why you wouldn't wanna continue this challenge going forward, but it's really unique and you've blown me away by managing to beat smash Crystal this handily with a crazy limitation like this!
The concept, execution, commentary, it's all excellent. It's a shame it doesnt draw people in, this is so unique it really deserves more attention. I think these videos would be more appreciated if more people knew they were out there.
This is super impressive. I also really enjoyed watching it. Kind of sad to hear you say you won't be doing another one, but I totally understand with it not pulling the viewers, especially when there is so much work that goes into it. I would've gone insane doing it and you absolutely nailed it! As always, a great video and I have enjoyed your channel and all your unique challenge videos
I just suscribed to you because of this video, so it's a shame it isn't more popular, as you mentioned. I had actually already watched the blue one, but the fact that you went ahead and tried it in crystal was what convinced me to suscribe. you absolute legend
I genuinely love these challenges, it's such an inventive and clever challenge to place on yourself, even if it does come down to good RNG at the end of the day!
Thank you for your creative content! A lot of "pokemon challenges" are often just brute force solo runs or drawn out Nuzlocke runs. Not that those are bad, but it's refreshing to see a challenge pop into my subscriptions that makes me think "huh... /Can/ you do that???"
Aye homie, this challenge alone puts you on a tier above others. It isn't the most glamorous run but it shows so much attention to detail and planning that it takes to finish, and it showcases your knowledge of the game. Excellent job
As someone who has done challenge runs that require a ton of patience and planning, as well as knowing pokémon reasonably well: Holy cow, this is seriously amazing. This seems like a monster of a challenge. Well done, and really nice presentation, great video :) One of the more fascinating thing to me personally is, that you didn't seem to turn off moves. Even if you just turned them back on for the video, that's still most of the time °-°;
What an amazing Journey. Nice job and thank you for making this. I enjoy you running around johto with an igglybuff, beedrill, gayrados, entei, raiko, and Hoho
This was a fantastic video! That final battle with Red had me on the edge of my seat, wasn't sure how it would turn out. I'm a bit sad to hear that these challenges aren't pulling in viewers, making it not worth the massive time sink, but for what it's worth, I had a blast watching this, and would absolutely watch more in the future!
Mad props to you, man I've seen people beat the games with a single pokemon, or with no exp But this. This was something special. Honestly, you should have clickbaited the hell out of this title. "Hardest challenge" "Most unique challenge" -- it ain't even a lie
Incredible effort put into this, sorry to hear that you feel like it doesn’t appeal to people. This appeared in my recommended and I really enjoyed it, so that’s something at least? I’ve subscribed - great video!
I just wanted to comment; this was a REALLY interesting challenge. The planning, the sheer time it must've taken to catch all the legendaries to win, grinding out game corner....I fear the sheer scope and structure of future games might not make it feasible but really glad it worked here.
It might not draw many viewers, but I think it should. This is miles more interesting than the countless "can I beat (GAME) with (ONLY ONE WEAK POKEMON)" runs that have become popular recently. Nothing wrong with those, mind, but I feel like the skill and difficulty behind this challenge makes it more worth the watch. Good work ETU.
Igglybuff being useful is not something I'd thought I'd hear but on challenge runs, you find the best help in the weirdest Pokemon. Great job all around, I thought it would probably take till gen 4 to finish a game but here you are beating Red. This was very entertaing and I'm sorry not too many people were interested in the first video. Congrats on completing, Arceus knows this must've been a chore.
That was damn impressive. All the time, research and calculating you did... I salute you, F.J. and as always, the commentary was on point. Love your content
I wish I could subscribe and like more than once, seriously bro you make amazing content ! I hope you reach 100k soon and whatever challenges you come up with next, I look forward too ! I found your channel last year by accident and watched all the Ash’s team challenges, again you make premium content and you’re a hidden gem on this platform, thank you ‼️
I enjoy all of your videos because they are soo creative and diverse! It adds a special twist to the usual pokemon challenge and makes watching very interesting and exciting👏☝
I do enjoy this concept! It's a darn shame it's not found to be worth the time. I'll subscribe based off of this video, even though it was your "what if Ash woke up on time" series that introduced me to your channel.
Thanks FJ, I've really enjoyed these challenge videos. I think players can learn a lot about a game from watching these kind of challenge runs and it makes everything so interesting. With that being said though I totally understand why you won't do this again. I look forward to other interesting challenge vids!
A shame to see that you might not attempt further challenges. I just found your channel through this video being recommended to me and I'm glad I did. You have a nice, chill voice that stands out well among the other PokeTubers who are constantly shouting and hyping themselves up for the smallest of things like their audience are children with an attention span of two seconds. I can't wait for future videos!
Now THIS sounds like an actual challenge! Super excited for this long video, so commenting before watching! Thanks for uploading, & will probably comment more later!
I actually really enjoy this as a concept and would love to see how it fairs with other gens. I feel one of the issues with the first video was just the overall length of it. It became apparent almost immediately that the run would end extremely quickly. I wonder how this challenge could be used when mixed with Gen 7 where depending on the move you could gain a lot of levels in a single battle by using the sos chaining.
I wish you would make more of these! I don’t think they’re unpopular, I think RUclips’s algorithm is finicky. Love your channel, incredibly underrated, you are one of my favorite Poketubers
That was by far the most impressive pokemon challenge run I've ever seen. Sure, speedruns can break the games in half, and single pokemon runs can be tough, but this clearly took an ENORMOUS amount of effort, both planning and grinding resets. But in the end, the shiny beedrill was totally worth it.
Please don't feel discouraged, Even if your videos don't get the recognition it deserves please don't stop because trust me we all love your amazing content. Please carry on making unique and fun concepts.
I'm surprised that this series isn't doing better than it is. I've never seen your channel before, but I knew that I wanted to watch this just from the title.
Tough to hear you say this concept doesn't pull viewers considering how much effort it must take. I certainly love it!
I thought it was super interesting.
Have to say that I'm a fan of this as well.
Yeah, it's just not being recommended to people enough. This was a great challenge and video but it only popped up on my recommended now.
Ooo a new and unique challenge that’s rare around RUclips!
He only come up with the best challenges on RUclips! And enjoy is quality over quantity approach
Agreed. This is so much better than "Can i beat Pokemon Red with only a Geodude!!!" Yes.... yes you can.
For real though…it’s getting so old.
@@m1j1browning Same with "Can you beat a Pokémon nuzlocke with only ... Pokémon?"
can you beat pokemon yellow with only yellow pokemon????
Audience retention is weird. I really enjoyed the first 'one use' challenge, and liked this one a lot as well!
Thanks for the great content.
Yeah, it seems like the correlation between quality of video/challenge and number of views is very weak. This is definitely an impressive feat, I can only imagine the planning that went into this one
This is a really unique challenge concept. I was actually genuinely wondering if it was possible to complete the game! Thanks so much for taking the effort to go through with making this.
Hello Danganronpa fan
This is seriously impressive, this must have taken forever to finish.
Or what
I didn't think this was possible you absolute legend
I think u spoiled it for me cuz of top comment but yes he is a legend

This one is longer, hopefully it works out!!!
Wow I genuinely didn't think this would be possible even with the extra moves from gen 2. Thanks so much for taking the time to run these challenges!

I've never seen your channel before, but I knew that I wanted to watch this just from the title.
the sheer amount of planning and thinking ahead this must have taken, props to you my dude!
