    Is this also possible for different types of sand. Or use it for sand between stones to prevent weed.

    Is the resin binder sprayed on neat or is is diluted in order to make it thin enough to spray.

    Great vid. Was wondering if this could be used on a breedon gravel path ? Hate breedon gravel as it walks everywhere 🥴

      I actually tried bonding breedon a few months back. Didn't last long.

      Sorry I didn't see your comment sooner! Yes, it's a possible replacement as long as there is only light foot traffic. Breedon Golden Bravel is often used for driveways and courtyards, where EasiHold might not be best suited, but Vuba make alternative products that would be fine in such applications.

    How many coats should you put on. We did one so far and it's held up pretty good but we are trying to make it more solid to put patio furniture on it without sinking too much.

    • @TonyMcCormack
      @TonyMcCormack  3 года назад +1

      In theory, it's a 'single application' product, intended to work as 'one coat' but I can'y see any issue with applying a second coat.

    What would you suggest to seal sand between pavers.

    • @TonyMcCormack
      @TonyMcCormack  3 года назад

      In theory, you could use the Easihold, but it very much depends on the type of "pavers".

    How far does a 25kg bag of stone go if over laying (mixed with easihold) thanks

    • @TonyMcCormack

      That depends on the aggregate type and depth - your agg supplier should be able to tell you coverage at various thicknesses/depths.

    I'm guessing this system would not be best for areas that receive medium to heavy foot traffic?

      Yep - best for light to medium "family" foot traffic

    Would a easihold mix be good for a patio/path?

    • @TonyMcCormack
      @TonyMcCormack  2 года назад

      It's target market is low-use paths and occasional patios. Vuba have alternative resins for your more 'regular use' patios.

  • @jackmorley6257

    Can you lay on top of hard standing ground e.g concrete/ tarmac etc.

    • @TonyMcCormack
      @TonyMcCormack  2 года назад

      Yes, but this isn't a traditional resin bound system: it will give you a foot-traffic capable surface over an existing bound (concrete or bitmac) surface, but it won't make it suitable for vehicles.

    What of I get the spray on my pavers? Will this be ok? Or will they turn colors.

    • @Chanesmyname

      I saw an Amazon review where it looked like the guy had sprayed everything with the solution, he seemed happy about it and he took a photograph and it was gravel between Indian stone slab. But in this video the stone is masked off it appears and looks like it was pointless when there seems to be marks all on the finished result and the masking is removed? Looks like natural stone slabs to me in the video

    • @TonyMcCormack
      @TonyMcCormack  2 года назад

      There could be some darkening of the colours, but it depends on what form of paver, and how much of he resin is applied.

  • @lukederrick1247

    Can you do it with any type of gravel

    • @TonyMcCormack
      @TonyMcCormack  2 года назад

      It needs to be a "clean" gravel, so no fines, dust or other contaminants. Best results are achieved when gravels specifically for resin bound surfacing are used, rather than any old gravel you happen to have. There is, thankfully, a HUGE range of choice from various suppliers so it shouldn't be hard to find one that you like.

    will this also act as a weed Block?

    • @TonyMcCormack
      @TonyMcCormack  3 года назад +1

      It will deter most weeds growing from *through* but, like all paving and surfacing, it can do nothing about weeds growing *into* the surface (from seeds, in particular)

    How deep can the pea gravel be

    • @TonyMcCormack
      @TonyMcCormack  3 года назад

      That is a bloody good question, and one I'll have to check with the manufacturer, Vuba, but I'd say 50mm would be possible, as it relies on the resin binder 'dribbling' down through the gravel. I'll check with them (they won't be in now until Monday) and get back to you......

    • @TonyMcCormack
      @TonyMcCormack  3 года назад +3

      I managed to have a word with the company and their technical guy has told me...."Because it’s an air drying binder, it is somewhat limited. We'd say the maximum depth of application is around 20mm. Between 15mm and 20mm being the optimal." I trust that helps you. If you need something to bind deeper gravel, you should contact Vuba directly - they're very helpful and may well be able to point you in the right direction.
