I bought one of these on Amazon for about 30 bucks. I am getting another because I love it so much! (As a back up). I've used it a half dozen times and it performs flawlessly. Initially, with the spray hole so small I thought it would take forever to back fill. I tested the rate by shooting the spray into a 5 gal jug. Took 3 minutes to fill. Not bad! TIP: dedicate an old hose to this unit. I leave it attached and coiled. Ready to go! Get one!

Do you need a vacuum breaker to protect potable hose and water supply?

Good question! It comes with a back-flow preventer. -Scott

Too funny, having just wrote this, I decided to check Amazon. This unit is selling for $19.00 !!!! (10/22/13) Seriously, get one of these! I just bought my backup and a water filter.

These do little if anything! Watch the video where they use a clear tank to test this!

What a waste of perfectly good clean water ! Some people have a phobia about sewage....and don't seem to mind using/polluting another large amount of fresh water to deal with it. Seems like the fact that water is either scarce or expensive to treat has not gotten to the RV world

So I take it to conserve water at home you save up a couple loads before you flush your toilet? Get real.

@@MaxOrbit six years later....what you suggest is just what is causing the "clogs" some people buy this gizmo to deal with in the first place: using their black water tanks like outhouses / not using enough flush water to begin with....causing them to use twice as much water later to deal with the "clogs". Some even buy it to "clean" their black tanks every time they hit the dump station. I wonder if they "clean" their septic tanks after every pump-out at home (????)
At one time or another I drove a septic tank pump truck, I installed tanks and built septic fields....I maintained small community septic systems, I built large sani lift stations.....I dealt with sewage A LOT in my working life. The way I see a great many RVers deal with the issue just make me laugh!

This was the biggest waste of money and time I’ve ever went through. What a piece of junk. It does absolutely nothing.

"So I take it to conserve water at home you save up a couple loads before you flush your toilet?".....No I do not. That would be an extreme form of water management. The device shown and the practice of backflushing tanks is the other end of the scale...the FAR end. There is no good reason to do it. The tanks are sealed and vented. Imagine what happens in the tank during travel! And the video shows backflushing of the GREY TANK as well (???) LOL
    ...talk about "getting real"

Francois Lepine A lot of people use this product to break up a clog that otherwise would be very difficult to break up. I use it to follow the geo method so I can use my grey water recycler, which means I use less water than 99% of rvers including you.

@@ussj4brolli and how did you get a "clog" in the first place???? It's by not using enough fresh water to flush/fill the black tank enough in the first place...your conserving of fresh water/fear of running out of fresh water is causing the "clogs"....."We've seen the enemy..and it is us"!!!! @@ussj4brolli you were the victim of bad design then.....in ANY well designed sewage disposal system the size of the first fitting in the system (toilet?) should be followed by greater diameter fittings all the way to the eventual outlet. Just common sense. If the ball made it through the toilet it SHOULD have made it through all the way to the end of the dump hose.
