The AfD wants good relations with Russia, they want the war to end, that's something they always said, and it's partly why they are being attacked by the other parties. However, the reason why the AfD became so popular has more to do with domestic issues caused by the other parties over the years. They point out the problems of migration, bureaucracy, economics, failed energy policies, censorship, and the declining school and health system and not being dragged into another war with Russia. That's what really interests people in Germany.
