That’s their real voice, every proper English old man basically sounds like that
I used to work in bookies around East London and 75% of my customers sounded like this! Propa'geezas! Even more confusing when they used cockney rhyming slang which some did sometimes.
I'm from East London...these accents is all day every day! 💪🏾
I'm from the area they're from. Every old white geezer speaks like either one of these two. Unless they're Irish. That's a whole other situation 🤣
@@Greymange I’ve heard just as many old black “geezers” speak like this as well
Not really, not very well spoken at all, there common folk like you would get in New York with accents.
Pete and bas are so good man, it's mad that there's still people trying to clown them because they're 70+
FACTS
@@mmalads TRUE
Y’all seemed unaffected by the sheer brilliance of these 2. I’m blown away!
Bas is flowing so fucking hard on this one hahaha
If there is one thing I've learned this year, it's that Bas has a heavier flow than your girl has once a month
@@redfox83bc31 Grim 😂
They both be it but when Bas switches to his faster choppy flow....shit hit different. And when they get on their Jada & Styles tag team ish 🚀
I've met bas on the train in Croydon once his voice is actually that deep
wish I met Bas on the train
@@UnIucker I think deep down we all wish we met Bas on a train
Yep CR0
@@jaffiejames156 Being from Croydon and my family being from Bermondsey it’s crazy seeing them rapping as hard as they are 🤣🤣🤣
@@danic9304 not me 🤣Don't want him to stab me😅
that's really their voice
Defo ain't it's been made to sound like that.live on a mic they sound nothing like this
Good tho
These guys are a package one I’m a fan of but let’s stop being naive they don’t write their sh*t and they are miming it’s pretty obvious
@@ihavecandyinmyvan8947 Do they mime on tour as well then? 😂😂
@@westham535well that footage floating around of them performing ( do one) is to blatant backup vocals and when they tried to rap along, well a five year old could tell the voices on the backup track and Pete and bas trying to shout along were not the same but the gullible are gonna believe what they want I guess 🤷🏽♂️
Missed some cracking bars. Smoking a biff of the highest grade, now my head's twisted like a Rasta
Uk music (rap and grime) is all about bars so we don’t care if a track is 10mins or 20mins long, it’s all about the art of listening to what styles, punchlines and hype the artist can bring. Some are even an hour long and most are done live with a DJ or just in front of a camera with a beat playing. Back in the days all this was on stage in front of 100s to 1000s of people so if you messed up or said a shit bar everyone would cuss you for it lol. To understand grime you have to go BAAACK
Yesss we wanna do a history of grime livestream with yall!!
@@BradAndLex much love to both yous 👊🏾 just remember before going into this, just like American rap, grime started/came from the sound system battles waaaaay back in the day where a DJs would showcase his talents on the decks while an MC would do the same on the mic. The aim was to either hype the crowd or kill the other MC with bars. (If the producer or MC killed it the DJ would “pull-up” or “reload” the instrumental which made the crowds go crazzzzy! (Some songs are banned because they’d make people so hype gunshots would go off or fights would start) the slang you hear in the music are basically just Jamaican and African words mixed with normal English.
That’s just a regular older man cockney accent. So many old guys sound like this england.
I 100% agree with Pete’s voice being described as “crispy”. I’ve loved how he sounds on the tracks since I first heard them, but never could attach a word to it.
Definitely raspy
Pronunciation and not mumbling words so the references and the words making sentences flow in a nice descriptive matter, a thing that is often lost in rap because a trend of wanting to do it as fast as possible. Theres is not stress and they are actually telling you something so you try to listen to the lyrics in a way you wouldn't do in a song where content is repetitive or not original. I think the shorter one said something in a interview about his accent helping him in a weird way.
🧏♂
No retirement or 401k, when you be rappin this way!
They are better than 99% of artist out there, it is both their voices and them writing, lots of media out there to hear them speak.
this 2 can't apreciate...sad
You need to understand, these are true OG gangsters from the U.K.. Pete, the shorter one, was actually muscle for the mob. These OGs are the real deal. They could still make someone disappear.
They probably still DO; not just COULD. Like you said, they’ve been muscle, enforcers, debt collectors, etc, for the mob, for real. And, maybe scariest of all, they were the “Go To” guys for a number of serious gangland bigwigs and the mob. And “Go To” guys have that title for a reason. You go them when a problem needs ‘fixing’, and you can’t get anyone else who’s guaranteed to do the job properly. And I don’t need to spell out what kind of ‘jobs’ we’re talking about. But it wasn’t fixing a leaking tap (faucet). I’ll leave it there....
For anyone interested in finding out more, one of the most infamous and “successful” fixers/ “Go To” guys, going right back to the 60s’, was London gangster Freddie Foreman. There are tons of documentaries and stuff that mention him, on RUclips. Worth a look. It is fascinating. Finally, This is not idle, “make a quick buck using the ‘novelty’ aspect of being older guys rapping”. Having dug a bit, they were properly mobbed-up. Wow.... nice find......
Wait are/were they actually gangsters or are u just joking ?
@@angelogandolfo4174 man wrote a whole essay 🤣
@@rampz975
I know right! Anyway it should answer your question. Yes they were (not much now) proper high rolling gangsters.
Yooo I agree! Pete's voice does sound fried to fuck haha. Also, these bars are FILLED with really deep meanings. It is absolutely wild how much they packed in there. Hop on Genius and take a look. It's insane.
Sounds way better and way more talented then majority of mainstream artists nowadays 🤣
For some reason I burst out laughing when you said 70 year old gangster rappers 😂😂🏴🇬🇧
Pete and bas are proper geezers
Pete and Bas are the mutt's nut's!
Keep em coming!
Gravely and deeply smooth voices
They're the real deal, big following here in the UK
The Enya Boadicea sample is a sure hit.
Its actually the fugees ready or not sample of enyas sample. Its sample inception
Props to Enya, she needs more love these days 🙂💕
More people should sample her, there's great stuff there.
@@crhu319 Definitely! 🙂
"His voice is crispy. Like it's been fried." Spot on description that.
They got tons of songs been around for a bit.
At first i thought it was a parody but they are actually doing their thing! and doing it well!
They're 70 so were born 1950 ish. So they were THERE in the 60s as teenagers for the Stones , the Beatles, when THAT stuff was new. Then 30 in 1980 for The Clash, Linton Kwesi Johnson, etc.
she is looking for the word raspy lol great react!!
It's how we talk in London! 🔥💪🏾
Been waiting for you guys to react to this! They write and perform all their own stuff. Nuff respek to Pete and Bas
IMHO, if you started this with your eyes closed then opened them 1/2 way, you'd be shocked. Watching these old geezers rap actually detracts from what they are doing (due to the shock value and juxtaposition of the rap and the age). Not really my thing but kinda cool.
They blew my minds first time seeing them, Window Frame was also great
Edit: i had the same massive grinning smile first time listening to them😁
These guys are legit... and they write there own bars from what I've heard.
Lexs London Cockney accent made me fall in love. These 2 Eastenders genuinely sound like this. They did it for a bet with their Granddaughter and did well.
Definitely their voices, you'll find a lot of old London boys sound like this
They are real old skool gangsters they lived the life what they spit about is real. Their grandchildren got them into this music
Pete & Bas are real OGs. Back in the days they used to work for two of UKs biggest crime families. They used to walk the walk, now they talk the talk.
These guys are the dopest old men ever! 😎 spitting bars faster than rappers half their age...and that floowww lol
They been rapping for about 2yrs and have a good catalogue 🔥🔥🔥
Nah they started rapping in 2017
Check out their interview. This is all them. Their grandchildren just help them with the current slang words
The fusion of old school cockney and modern jafraican is genius I think.
Listen these guys have been doing bits for awhile
Bas had no right to ride the beat like that on his second verse!! Mans was going IN!
I’ve been waiting for this reaction lol
They have a thew tracks and they do live shows
They the real deal guys , they better than the majority of American rappers fr
People in disbelief proves how great they are
Yes Lex "Let's do some Ghetts" make sure it's older👌🔥🔥🔥
Glad you guys enjoyed this! Checkout their tune 'Golf' next...👌👊🔥🔥🔥🔥😂
Gotta love U.K. Hip Hop where OGs actually stands for old (yet amazing) geezers xD
“I jump in a cab, tell the dude to drive faster. I might box-in the Uber. And if he complains, I’m punching the b****rd”. Where did you even find the dudes? I’m in the UK, and I listen to a LOT of music, but even I never heard of them! What a find!!!! Nice work!!
It's hotboxing the uber.
@@bigchristie LOL!
I right I’ve only just realised what u mean. I’m being slow today......
How can you listen to Bas' insane flow and not acknowledge it my man???
"they're not that bad for their age" 💀
They're better than 90% of people 40yrs younger than them
They are well seasoned Veteran Rappers. Because Pete and Bas are musical friends, their history was hard and through the hardship they express their experiences through music 🎶🎶. They got today's slangs from their grand children in fact their grand children introduced them to Rap. They just amplified it with Cockney accent and a hint of Gangster life.
Quit hating, they absolutely went bananas on this beat.
literally no one when they first see these guys think they are real, everyone i have seen think its dubbed, edited or written for them. But surprisingly its all them!
plz react to more pete n bas they got more bars than most these youngers lmao
Love watching you guys
"I go to the gym so of course I'm gonna wear tight stuff" No brad!!🚩red card!!!🤦♂️😔😂😂
💀💀💀
🤷♂️😂😂
To be that age lol you young ones forget us geezers started hip hop and rap over 40 years ago
Facts.
You heard the Fredo and Bugsy bit but missed the bit where he clearly references the IRA.
taller dude is over here sounding a little like pop smoke lol
These guys are more like what these young American rappers wish they were
,, They are not bad,, wtfk??? They are ,, Pure Talent,, 👏❤️🔥🔥🔥 They are : The Kings of Drill 🔥🔥🔥😎
Lex had me creasing up in this one ☝️
I really encourage you to listen to their other music. Age aside, they're actually dope 💯
They have fairly standard voices for their age and location
They do live shows can really rap like that check all there songs man 🔥
It's real and that had dubious life
Low key been waiting on this... Cant wait to see your reactions... Lol
These guys has been rapping for 4 years and apparently they were like propper gangsters back in the day. They write their own lyrics but get help with the slang and such..
I seen a interview with them and thats their voice.. Alittle tuning here and obviously cause their in the studio.. But that their voice..
Oh this ws a live? I dont get notifications when your live for some reason..
Lex hyped from the jump on this one. 🔥 reaction 💯👍.
I was so In on the reaction until I realized you guys can't even appreciate true talent I think it's funny how you want to believe it's fake cause it better than anything you have heard in the last 5 year plus!!
Love the way you two are enjoying this
You need to check out some of their other tracks like Speeding, The Old Manor etc. They channelling the old English gangster vibe - see films like The Gentleman, Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrells, Snatch.
Do it chronologically, the early ones appeared a bit jokey, but they have developed and improved...
Yall are buggin. These dudes really do this. This is all them ,lyrics voice.everything
The fredo bit was because a guy very nearly kissed fredo on the lips whilst he was on ig live
Stormzy superheroes
I think that's an Enya track theyve sampled from at the start. Gotta love that dope London studio production.
Are you kidin...they r not bad?...they r f**ing amazing =D
When u gona do the
Pete and bas - old estate
They're not tuned up theres hardly any mixing on the vocals besides just making the audio clean
You guys are the cutest couples in youtube wherever there's respect there's always love wherever there's no respect there's no love
Is this a reupload or am I loosing my head
Yep!
I am going to see them live in Leeds 🤔👍
Fredo bugsy aich stormzy jk they sendin shots.
Don't forget the last line skepta get left in a casket case
How did this one sneak by me? Too cool.
Popped his noggin' with the butt of the dotty (shotgun)
And his body foamed up like a bottle of cava
"Tuned up!"
Old school gangsters
Wish for Brad to open up and listen to the metal songs like he does this stuff here. In all Brads metal reactions you see him closed up, walled off, trying to be intellectual instead of feeling the musicianship and emotion like Lex does.
bro you GOTTA check out Frank & Maury - Sticky (its the same 2 guys under a dif name)
You should try either the old estate or speeding by Pete n bas
its about time u did some more of their songs they got loads out now ,
Check out their other joints
unfortunately thats their real voices they go on tour you can check it in real time, it helps when you know the lingo

100% real, i am from england :-) check their live show videos as well, these guys doing clubs (full of people in their 20's and 30's ). check mr worldwide. ps. they like this live
They can't call out others if they can't do this live on a radio just pointing it 🤷🤣 out as radio would need them live to carry beef 🤔
