After quitting for many years and returning with EoC, it's been very overwhelming trying to play catch up. These videos are a life and time saver, thank you!
Arch glacor is such a good boss for learning PvM. This boss taught me to pray flick which then led me on to being able to get consistent Raksha kills! Great video!
For Arch-Glacor: in some cases you can predict upcoming mechanics before previous ones have not even finished: He will always use up all selected mechanics once without repeating. and only once he is done with that - only then he will randomizes attack order list again using same logic as mentioned before. Thus if you have any worrying mechanics you want to keep track of (let's say Frost canon, when all 5 mechanics are enabled) then one can do basic observations like: - If 1st attack was Frost Cannon - then next 4 will definitely not gonna be a frost canon. - If 5th attack was Frost Cannon - then there is a 1/5 chance for 6th attack to get another Frost Cannon. - If first 4 attacks were not Frost Cannon - then you are definitely getting it on the next attack. Probably doesn't matter much on NM. But regardless - its an additional information to what's gonna happen next.
When I got back to the game around 2 years ago, I wish I'd have a guide like this one- simple, not too much info- but JUST enough to get started. Instead, I had to rely on over-qualified setups which I had no access to at least 50% of the items, and whole charts of switches and such. Wholesome guide- you get a like!
I would love a video explaining defenders, reprisers and rebounders. To see their benefits and such .. Awesome vid. You have helped me so much killing different bosses and most of all thank you for not being elitist.
A year later and this video is still a lifesaver! After returning to RS from a years-long hiatus, it's a completely different game now. Thank you so much for this guide, I'll be sure to check the rest of your content!
This is incredibly accurate. My exact PVM journey (though arch glacor has only been around recently.) When you've saved up enough and bought all your kit off the back of the rares you can start investing in afk gear for helwyr 🙃🙃. Im at 4.5k kills now. Maybe around 2k were afk
No idea if you're still reading comments on this video but I think a short comment regarding the lowest level bosses would be helpful. I, like many players who never got into bossing would likely look at the ingame list of bosses, find the lowest level ones (like giant mole and king black dragon) and reason that those are where to start.
Thanks for the video! A bit late to the party but something that would really help with these kind of videos is a video on managing adrenaline. What thresholds or ultimates (if any) to have on a revolution bar, when to use thresholds and ultimates, etc.
awesome vid, just a side note for Vin dog and purple rain, pretty sure the devotion cooldown is longer than 2 attack cycles so you'll have alternate it with debilitate
To be a bit more technical for the QBD fire wall.. the way movement works with ground splatters, some ground/wall traps, etc. Walking in rs is 1 tile per step. Running is 2 tiles. So you always skip every other tile when you're running. If you can time it so you run through the fire wall while its on the tile right in front of you, you'll essentially 'skip' through it taking 0 damage. OSRS takes advantage of this type of thing a lot with ground splatter that damages you, or time-restricted mazes and such where precise tile choice and movement matter. The best xp and gp/hr agility method in osrs is based solely on this type of thing and the skill gap to even get into it is pretty big lol. It's actually nuts watching the world record speed runs.
I would honestly make more end game stuff but I feel like I am not really the person to do so lol. Maybe I will write down some ideas focused on late/end game... any ideas? :)
Thank you so much for this exceedingly brilliant video, Init Yeah! Hi Runescapers! I'd be very grateful if anybody could explain how to turn on or open those boxes full of combat abilities / spells /actions etc. I mean the combat abilities such as slice and sever -activating them by pressing numbers or letters. Happy 'scaping and gaming!
Great video as always. More videos like this would be good. Another video would be much appreciated is walking people through combat rotations for full manual so they can have an idea to figure their rotation out, other than just reading the tips!
I'm trying to find out where to find bossing and what the requirements are to get into it. So far I've looked at 5 or 6 beginner guides and not one has explained this. Very frustrating
I tried Vindicta for the first time recently and got to second phase and died soon after But I play on mobile so it's a bit difficult so do some things I will come back to Vindicta soon just gotta get a bit more upgrades and I could probably get it after that
"Beginner's PvM Guide" Step 1, have near max combat skills and Herblore. I'm not criticizing you, this is an outstanding guide, I'm criticizing Runescape, the game has absolutely no boss progression or any kind of introduction to bossing at all, I've had an account for nearly 20 years, though didn't play for most of that time, got back into the game a couple years ago pretty seriously with some on and off since, knockking out quests in timeline order and leveling skills my kid self always wanted to level. I've gotten up to Fate of the Gods and am now combat level 127 and I've never stepped foot in GWD 1, Hell I don't even know where it is. I really thought I would eventually do a quest that would lead me there but it never happened and now the bosses are central characters in the game's story. It's honestly garbage design. I'm done ranting now.
PvM is end game content yeah, most mmos sorta lean you into it from lower levels too like having low level dungeons etc. Where as RuneScape has it thrown at the end (or toward the high levels at least). Would be nice to see them implement something sooner that is engaging to do as you level up. Like level 30 / 50 / 70 dungeon bosses or something.
No defiantly not, you could either swap to a shield for the ability or now that we have necromancy, you can use boneshield to not even need a shield :)
@InitYeah Thanks for the reply I've just come back to the game after a while and wanted to use melee but wasn't sure where to go with it. I have a zaros godsword and wanted to use that for now. I tried necromancy but it wasn't for me! Thanks for the reply!
I just recently started bossing, got my first qbd kill yesterday using magic with t70 power armour and t85 weapon. I do have overloads, super antifire, aswell as 99 prayer and curses (only 90 mage and 80 defence tho). I just feel like i never know when to use soulsplit over defensive prayers and also i feel like i take so much more damage than i'm supposed to (even tho i know a part of it comes from me not doing all mechanics correctly) I see all these videos of youtubers killing content, they seem to not take nearly as much damage as i do (even from like basic attacks and such). Could it be because of my low defence level even tho i use the same armour as recommended? I feel like when you say lv 70 is enough you say that from a maxed account perspective and it doesn't reflect what is really possible. Like yes, i can kill qbd but if i have to bank every kill and use up a ton of food, wouldn't it be worth it just getting 99 def mage range etc before starting bossing? Anyway love your content! Cheers
Also: why all youtubers say "overloads" and have a pic of a black flask but then have yellow flasks and other colors and not the actual overload one... what even are those?
Standard overloads are unlocked at 96 (or 89 boosted) so we use that icon because that is the first overload you unlock :D But I don't use that because ive turned all those into elder overloads lol which are a stronger version.
Yellow flasks are sara brews which heal you.. and there are many versions of overloads which are called combination potions like prayer renewal and overload in one potion for example. You don't need to worry about these yet if you're doing gwd1 or gwd2
@@InitYeah just like I was "complaining" above... now it seems I need to buy the recepy for the elder/supreme/holy overloads, but first I need access to Priff, and for that I need tuns of quests.... cmon.... its tiring.....
But this is the point of this video, you can't just go from gwd2 to raksha. You will get destroyed lol. Learn arch glacor, normal mode kerapac, araxxor, nex. All these bosses should come before raksha for sure. Raksha is very difficult in comparison
@RGT_ Nexus2 Is it though? I've heard this, but what about it is? People will say you heed to cancel assault and destroy, but for newer players this isn't necessary in any way. Plus assault canceling with 2h needs to be more precise. I guess it's easier to accidentally move during the channels for dw, but short of that idk. Also the range is nice, but also the learner need to know how to use it. I mean I'm splitting hairs at this point. The dps they get is similar either way. The cost is just 2.5m for each dw and it's like 45m for a Lance. A difference of 40m which for someone in t70 power armor is their entire load out.
No you dont need to, but the costs of these armours and such are so cheap that it makes sense to put yourself in that position. You could use royal dragon hide for gwd1 if you wanted. or no armour I guess lol
@@InitYeah gotcha thanks yeah I just actually made an iron and got lv60 magic with Guthix staff and divine storm so I was looking at what to do. Guess I'll try that out and see

You're better off playing legacy and just avoiding EoC all together. Nothing in EoC is worth the stress and hours of wasted time.

Bold of you to assume that my bird brain can learn to pvm with only 1 vid.
You got this!
If QBD goes the wrong colour you can use the onslaught ability to bypass the damage reduction.
Dame nice tip bro didn’t know that
Neither did i. MVP comment.
I really appreciate this type of video. Trying to get into pvm atm. Thank you!!
Yes thank you! I like the fact that you explain the boss mechs!
This is exactly what I was looking for today
U can use prayer at kril, u just have to have really good damage to skip his mechanic or heal through it
Great guide for the newer pvmers.
Glad you think so!
If you don't do mid-level and high-level version of this Init, I'm gonna be mad! Great video :)
I will at some point haha

How do you get the best from your ability bar given so many scenarios can play out?
Full manual makes that much more easier to adjust to situations. But it is something you will get to in practise and experience for sure
Notice too as the ice glacier gets ready for a ranged attack, Ice spikes spawn under you a few tics before
Of course another guide that focuses on high level characters. I’m a mid level and can’t wield t85+ weapons. Only T70.
