I've never heard of mud paint. That color is stunning! How you managed to save an inexpensive piece of furniture and make it look stylish and modern is truly incredible. bravo!
I really appreciate you making these videos. You have no idea how much we needed these DIY tutorials during quarantine. You explain everything so clearly! Thank you again. Stay safe
Hi Katie....this just happened to me with another paint....it’s not the paint...it’s bc it’s not wood...wasn’t able to absorb the extra water! We had it in the sprayer and the whole cute little cabinet was alligator texture!...so I quickly grabbed a sponge brush and got as much as smooth as I could...what a mess!! So a little sanding and second coat with straight paint and fixed it....so now I know no water with non wood surfaces...your piece turned out cute...nice we have so many colors to choose from...I love a pop of color! Thank you for sharing😊k
Another piece of furniture given a second chance to be beautiful!....this color is strikingly different but beautiful!...God bless y’all and stay safe and healthy!
I'm here in October 2021 and glad that I discovered your channel. It's been tough times and I'm sure you do the best you can among so many challenges. I rarely find a channel and a person that I instantly like and relate to, but you are really an exceptional humanbeing. Take care, stay safe and give yourself some time to rest too. Beautiful makeover!
Happy to see you use a brush for the paint. I envy your sprayer but don't think I would ever purchase one. Seeing you use the brush makes me believe I could do this too!! Love your channel and glad I've subscribed. Keep up the great work.
I’ve worked successfully with the bubbling tops! They are a bummer. I’ve scraped them off with an exacto knife, then filled with wood putty and sanded. Takes a few tries and TONS of patience but it works. Absolutely must prime after trimming, filling and before painting or you’ll just get more bubbling.
I have been watching you paint and I am wondering how you don't have paint all over you. I have to buy new T- Shirts about every 3 months. Everything I have has paint on it. You are wonderful 😊
Love the creativity...I did have to fast forward to the actual DIY I think you're an #AMAZING artist & Mom...I am painting a cabinet in Zebra print...thanks for the ideas
I've painted particle board furniture it works perfectly well. This video is a good example of how it can go. No, it's not the furniture you're going to say as heirloom pieces. But if you're strapped for cash and you pick up a sturdy particle board piece by the side of the road you can turn it into something nice and creative.
I am a new subscriber, you are very talented, I really like your projects, keep up the good work. May the Lord bless you and your family and keep you safe until He returns.
Wow beautiful! So glad I found a video on how to redo one of those fake wood furniture pieces. I hate to admit it but I'm "blessed" with one of those TV stands made from it that my husband picked out and it fits our space nicely, but I can't stand the light fake color. Thank you for giving me hope!
Love the mud paint! I would have taken the drawers out for primer and painting. I really want to see you using your power saw. Overcome those fears, u can do it!! Finished product was mwah, lol. 🤗
I agree about learning to use the power tools. I'm 69yr old mobility challenged lady. Ijust bought a used table saw from a neighbor. Now watching RUclips videos about blades and tips on how to use the saw. First project: ripping some melamine shelves then on to ripping my new laminate flooring.
I love this color! We have an old farmhouse that one of the bathrooms is tile and there is a stripe this color throughout the floor. I have an old cabinet I wanted to paint and I think I will do it this color! Great video thanks so much!
Beautiful! Just completed my first furniture redo. And it turned out awesome. Your videos gave the confidence to tackle it. Thanks Katie. I just subscribed to your amazing channel.
Beautiful! I absolutely love this piece 😍 the color is so romantic and fun. I really liked your choice in nobs to finish it off. Just, lovely 🌸 New subscriber here for sure!!
I have some industrial type shelves and matching tv stand that came from walmart and are particle board and powder coated metal. I may sell the shelves but thought about painting the tv stand white. Can the BIN primer be used on the whole thing? Do you have any suggestions for this project? I want to revamp my house and get rid of my gray carpet and gray walls and get flooring and white walls. My taste has been industrial/farmhouse/victorian era and now I just want white with wood accents, antiques and greenery with small black accents. I’d essentially like the white tv stand to look rustic somehow but I’m a beginner at all this and don’t know what I’m doing. Lol I would be grateful for any tips or help on what to do.
Hi, I have a furniture that is made up of : 48% particle board, 38% MDF, 7% iron, 6% paperboard, 1% polypropylene Can I also flip it.. .like in this video? & what type of paint would I use?
Just started following you and LOVE your incredible ideas. This has really sparked my interest to revamp my walnut colour Entertainment unit to a lighter oak finish which I thought might have never worked. So thank youuuuu! A quick question: Do you recommend using a oil based or water based primer for this type of particleboard furniture?
Hi there can you give me a little bit of info about that primer? I’ve never used it before and just started a project with it right now. I have noticed that it dries extremely fast? And how in the world do you wash it out of your brushes or if you get it on your skin? You don’t recommend sanding in between coats do you just between the last coat and the paint correct
Hi Ann. BIN is a shellac based primer. It does dry extremely quickly, especially right now when it’s so hot. It requires ammonia for clean up and is a pain in the butt to do. That’s why I wear gloves, use disposable rollers and line my tray with tin foil. I only sand the last coat before I start painting. It’s not completely necessary, but I prefer a silky smooth finish.
I love your channel! I refinished furniture for years but then came across a dresser with bedbugs and became super terrified of buying furniture to flip. Have you ever gotten bed bugs? And what tips do you have To check a piece of furniture ?
I have NEVER had any experiences with bed bugs or bugs in general (other than the occasional spider 🕷) I’m sure there’s some sort of insecticide on the market though.
Was just wondering wether the cleaner you use would be the same as sugar soap in the UK. Plus also I think you're very pretty and have a calming voice . PS I'm a happily married woman so not in a creepy way 😉

They’re a true nightmare and yeah perhaps there is a pesticide. Thank you so much for your quick response and please keep uploading more videos ! 💕

😂😂😂 thank you Angela! It’s been a while since someone called me pretty. My hubby should take note 😜
