Wow thanks for sharing your experience. Make sure you use lots of lotion/balm for hands and lips. Beijing is super dry in the winter - when I was there, after a day at the forbidden city, my lips were so dry and swollen I looked like a fish 😂 best of luck with your remaining event, to us, you guys are all champions!

Just started to follow you - really like your in-depth sharing of the experience of participating in the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. I wish you could show us the unique painting you got though - I heard that the Organising Committee selected 7500 paintings by Chinese children as gifts and mental support for the athletes.
4:40 I had those trade pin from Asian Games! Even tough I’m not an athlete (I’m volunteering) they just give me the pins. And after that my friends told me that pins is for trade so I trade with what I have. I had Kazakhstan, Thailand, Taiwan etc and my friends even got Tokyo 2020 too. I think it’s a cool tradition to do. We get to interact with other people from different part of the world outside the competing day. Like just out of nowhere greet and say hi to them and make a good memories. I had fun too, I stationed at traditional snack in the dining hall and introduce various snack from my country. I wish I could speak more language so I can interact with more people.
Athletes from all over the world should cherish and enjoy every day of the Beijing Winter Olympics. I believe that in the future, no matter whether you are in the Summer Olympics or Winter Olympics held in other countries, you will definitely not enjoy the treatment in China today. Not before, and never will be.

Mass start got similar to marathon status for OG with schedule for the last day. Hope your inline skating experience will be advantage against pair skaters :)
In 1980 at Lake Placid I was able to trade a lot of my Olympic gear with athletes from other countries. I have some great USSR warm up suit and a USSR participation medal, Traded my Opening/Closing Ceremony jacket with a Canadian for their great Hudson Bay jacket. Lots of great stuff. But I have to admit todays athletes get a lot more loot.
The Text on the Thumbnail should say: I trained for 15 years and became better than 99000 other professional skaters worldwide and all I got was this pillow.
It's especially challenging to host Olympics during pandemic. I think China has done a great job so far.
