    Bought one of these for my daughter for her 21st two years ago since she needed a carry pistol. As of the first of this month she can now carry at her school. As you mentioned, not as light as my Shield, but easier for her to rack the slide.

    • @rustychains1897
      @rustychains1897 7 лет назад +1

      Pepsiaddicto this example seems fine. I bought it for her because it is operationally identical to my 1911 which she loves and shoots like a pro. This is smaller and lighter which makes for an excellent carry gun that she shoots well.

      I considered the CCP when I was looking for a new CCW last month and went with the PPS M2 LE instead. For $50 more than the CCP I got night sights, three mags, and a pistol that came from the Walther factory, not the Umarex factory. I've got about 200rds through it and it's an excellent weapon. My father wasn't so lucky; he wanted to save a few bucks and did indeed go with the CCP and he's had to send it back already because the mag would just drop out while he was firing it.

      General Malfeasance - In shopping for a semi-auto 9mm that my 65 year old wife could easily manipulate the slide, the CCP was a great option. She shoots 1/100th the amount as I, but she is very accurate with her CCP. It's often a feature that is a priority, not 'overall' best firearm.

      Nutn....Your glock 26 appears to have VERY little recoil.....Is that a
      product of your superb pistol grip or do you have an after market recoil
      spring installed?

    I thought this was supposed to be Nutnfancy's channel? This is clearly MrFancy by bringing out the sleek, sexy Walther CCP! This is the gun James Bond should have adopted after he moved away from the PPK in Tomorrow Never Dies. Home run from Walther for sticking with blowback design for accuracy!

    As a P7 nerd i was pretty stoked about this pistol. Accuracy, ergos, and features are all great. After a few months as a ranhe rental proved that was where the good points stopped. The gun broke multiple times (slide stope broke, trigger mech broke and killed it) and takedown is horrible. I know you cant shoot guns as much as a commercial range so i figured i'd throw my 2 cents in. Keep up the great videos!

    • @geoffm683
      @geoffm683 7 лет назад

      sonofursus the range gun was not the only one i saw struggle. i know walther doesnt make crap but i think they missed a few marks with this one. the main problem is that the roll pin used to keep the barrel fixed shears after a few thousand rounds.

    • @nutnfancy
      @nutnfancy  7 лет назад +2

      Fair comment and I believe it. However the CCP in the hands of users commenting here will be shot less than 300 rds its entire life [truth] so it will do great. I agree the takedown is retarded too. -nutnfancy

    Review request: Walther P99 compact or full size and Walther Creed. The P99 is an awesome pistol that gets overlooked and deserves a lot more recognition. Thanx. Keep up the good work 👍

    • @Predalien195
      @Predalien195 7 лет назад

      I dont think the P99 is overlooked at all... look at the success of the Canik TP9, it's a P99 clone. Many people know the merits of the P99 as a shooter. My personal experience with P99's is that I'd often see super tiny parts break after long and hard use. But frankly that was a lot of first Gen P99's and very early models at that. Firing pins had some issues and striker springs would get worn, they have fixed it though.
      But of course they kind of faded from memory as other guns came around. But then like I said the TP9, just a P99 at a lower price point and it works quite well.

    I've loved my CCP! My big complaint was the takedown tool; I actually designed and 3d printed a handle for it that installs with a spring pin through the 'keychain' hole. Makes takedown a lot easier, for me at least.
    Takedown can be really finicky, though. At one point while re-assembling, that braided spring for the catch retention must have caught the wrong way, or something, because it bent itself to hell and jammed everything up halfway assembled. I finally got it back apart, bent the spring back into shape, but takedowns only got worse after that. I mentioned it to the folks at Walther when I sent it in for the recall, they just replaced the spring, and now everything is nice and smooth. Couldn't be happier.

      Kevin Roberts couldn't agree more! Doesn't get in the way of it being probably the sweetest & most accurate shooting polymer pistol out there regardless of size. Some hate the sights(not me)but again it doesn't affect anyone's accuracy with it.

    I recently sold my CCP after having a catastrophe failure at the range. Part of the locking mechanism that attached the slide to the frame shattered firing 115gr Winchester White box. Walther did repair it, but I'll stick with my PPS Classic and M2.

    What do you say about the CCP recall. Walther claims if dropped the firearm could possibly discharge. Kinda makes me a little nervous. How ever it won't stop me from getting a CCP. I love your review. It's great information and spot on in my opinion.

  • @jasystems
    @jasystems 7 лет назад

    I happen to own my CCP for about two years now and it is deadly accurate, totally agree. The take down is a Chinese puzzle, Walther needs to redo that feature pronto. The fixed barrel is out of this world accurate and the recoil is non-existent. Cant ask for for, except that take down, again. here are my "wants" to be fulfilled in future gens of this CCP:
    1. Higher capacity, possibly 10 rounds
    2. Take Down needs to be completely redesigned
    3. Magazine release would be greatly improved if paddle release was employed (totally optional)
    4. Improve upon the trigger, a little less weight - possibly 3.5 lbs
    5. Slightly bigger sites, night visible too
    Overall, a great value for $400.00 - it is the ccp of choice for just about anyone.

  • @chzzyg2698

    You talked about carrying a full-size pistol in the winter. I do it year round. Why? Because it's what I've got and can afford at the moment. And I will not sacrifice accuracy for concealability. I'll tailor my clothes around the weapon. That doesn't mean that if someone handed me a Glock or Walther or whatever medium to subcompact and I shot well with it, it was reliable and offered me a great deal on it that I wouldn't for any reason whatsoever bite and buy it. It's situation dependent. Right now I'm trying to build a solar charged deep cycle battery system and that costs a fortune!

    • @nutnfancy
      @nutnfancy  7 лет назад

      +Mark Alvey Depends on how you carry it, your body, and holster setup. We've tried out the smaller one and loved it, and we've carried a lot of carry/compact/subcompact guns on the market between the two of us through all diff. Carry. Systems and found we can run some pretty long barrels and keep them well-hidden with the right setup. I'm a size medium under 5'9 and Nutn's 6'6" (I think?) XL and he's got more real estate to hide with armpit carry and IWB holsters. For me, I start to run into issues with longer barrels when I sit in cars if there's no retention as the it pushes against the seat and drives upward, out of the holster. He's tall enough that never happens. For me, I'd go with the smaller one since it's hard enough hiding it on me, while he could easily go with the 4" since it's invisible on him anyway. The extra performance and sight radius is comforting, and if you can effectively hide and carry the longer barrel I'd probably go for that.

    I owned the bi-tone CCP. In regular in the southeast without gloves that little bugger got hot after 70 rounds. After 100 it was unbearable and started to have issues going into battery (my guess because of the heat). The safety wasn't a deal breaker and it was accurate, but I like to shoot a lot and that's a deal breaker for me.

This summer I've been using the LCP II a lot and I do love it, but the Mrs. doesn't get on board with those smaller calibers. her RA makes smaller, snappier firearms less enjoyable, so her standby is the glock 43. Beats her old-school carry back in the day of a PPK and a few mags! -Doodle

    Nice gun but I don't see why this exists when you could buy a pps m2 if you wanted a walther.

    • @nutnfancy
      @nutnfancy  7 лет назад

      +mometal0519 Having shot them side by side, I'd recommend a first gen PPS. (I'm kidding). They're fairly similar, and in a few ways I do prefer the PPS to the comparatively smaller CCP just because I shot it better, though the size is a bit bigger. That size is what makes it easier for me to shoot, so eh... it all comes down to shooter priorities. I can't really figure out their thinking behind the split unless they worried the recoil system would be a turn-off to some and wanted to maintain a standard carry 9. In the end, we all win for having more options though! -Doodle

      +austin richard Sadly we didn't have them on hand back to back, it's a fairly close race in many ways and really comes down to preference. I still carry my mk I pps and love it, but the nifty little ccp would gladly be taken by any of us! -doodle

      Umarex owns Walther. To the best of my knowledge the P22, PK380, PPX, and CCP are all made at the Umarex facility in Germany. The Rest of the Walther line is produced by Walther in Ulm.

    H&K P7 copy for sure. Difference is bore axis on the P7 is much lower. And the CCP I'm sure isn't $1500 either. Glad I got my P7M8 when I did. It's worth 4x what I paid for it now.

'Course, there was a vintage 70's Colt for Just a couple hundo more I missed out on too. But hey, you remember the ones that got away, right? :) Doodle

    the gun shoots nice, and it is easy to rack the slide for women. but it really sucks to clean that thing. My girlfriend has one and makes me clean it for her. I told her I would buy her a new one if I could throw it away

    • @noahbthesavagegardener5146
      @noahbthesavagegardener5146 7 лет назад

      I'm amazed by how many women have difficulty racking the slide on a Glock 26, while all of them can rack the slide on a full size Glock.

      Kevin Roberts my dad has one of these and I've cleaned it for him every time he's shot it because he can't field strip it. And the trigger is mushy as hell.

    • @noahbthesavagegardener5146
      @noahbthesavagegardener5146 7 лет назад

      The field strip does look even worse than the Walther PPK and Makarov, which aren't the greatest. I like the idea of having a fixed barrel to simplify the attachment of suppressors and expand the variety of them that you can use, but of course you need a threaded barrel to take advantage of that.

    I would never buy a ccp though, if I'm going up to that size, I'd rather take a glock 19 over that. That's 7 more rounds I could have

    Doesn't look like the cameraman is exercising good muzzle awareness. Getting kinda close to that danger-zone for the cool camera angles!

    • @nutnfancy
      @nutnfancy  7 лет назад

      usually if it's foreward of the muzzle we're holding it out on the periphery. The viewfinder has a good range of motion so we can dangle the cam out in places we don't like being. It's pretty rare that we're right where the camera us, normally we're holding it in it's rig a few feet off. Just for hearing protections' sake I don't really get on/past the muzzle divide with half these testers- those new brakes can be loud! -Doodle

    Have both 45 & 9. Carry 45 (pocket thumper), mostly practice with 9 (ammo cheaper). My PPQ is all Nutn says it is but too big to carry. I NEED (too much?) a G26 sized PPQ in 45.

    • @nutnfancy
      @nutnfancy  7 лет назад

      +Damian Grouse Who knows, maybe they'll come out with it. That little XD in .45 is pretty cool, albeit hefty and chunky, but it's got 9 rounds in it. For a while there everyone was hot for .45, but It almost seems like manufacturers are cooling back off from it. -Doodle
