I've never seen a layout like this one in a single wide....I appreciate the thought that went into the design, really masterful and innovative. Having these separate and hidden areas for laundry and pantry storage makes all the difference and the entire home looks casual and uncluttered. I love it!

WOW! I am really impressed. about 25 years ago my best friend and her family hosted a Bible study in their single wide. It was the 5 of them, my family was 6 back then, another family of 4, and sometimes a few other people. (So 6 adults and 9 small children plus whoever else came) They lived is a small single wide and so every time I see a single wide tour I think of hers. It had the kitchen on the end, a pretty good sized living room, 2 small bedrooms and a bathroom.) I was blown away by this one! She's not in the market for one but I am forwarding this on to her. God has really blessed all of the families. There have been lots of changes in our families since then. All of the families have changed dramatically. More kids for all of us and now all the kids are grown and having kids of their own. ( I know that between my friend and I with our total of 9 kids in the end there have been 10 grandbabies!) I love the idea of this home being where young families get together like we used to. We ended up moving in a cross the street and the other family next door ( the 4th family was the next street over) and we would have the most amazing BBQs that consisted of one of the men rolling his BBQ out to the driveway and we would scrounge up what ever we had and throw it on. Where one family fell short another would pick up and we had some amazing meals while the kids all played together. We all sometimes struggled to make ends meat back then and are in much better places now ( in all regards) but I still miss the days when we would BBQ, and then sit around in the front of our houses while the kids played or slept and we would sing together. It doesn't take a lot of money or the best address to make things special. It's the time we spend with those we love and taking the time to appreciate the moments that make a house a home. Blessings!

A lovely home with a lot of wasted space.
Could have had a double sink in the master with a tower cabinet at each end.
Could have just had the washer and dryer with just closet doors to free up extra space for the dining room!
Loose the tall cabinet by the fridge to get some extra counter space.

The person who find a way to make this into a european Scandinavian version where it adheres to the rules for insulation and stuff, they will be billionaires because building a home in these areas is INCREDIBLE expensive. (And most are still just like all others) - and we have a weather/climate where there is not so many extremes so it would be a solution that could endure and last for a long time, - and with a good base quality you could keep maintaining it and develop it. … but the way it is layed out the way it is set up is absolutely brilliant.

My parents moved us to New Mexico for 2 years in the 80’s and we lived in a trailer. It had brown paneling and brown carpet. It was dark inside. Its layout similar to this. It was brand new but felt really cheap inside. It’s nice to see they are making them look nicer than they used to.

In 1979 had Skyline custom build my home, Had more solid walls, raised ceiling 6 in, vinyl throughout, more insulation, bigger windows, metal siding. Was wonderful. When sold it a few years later got full asking price in less than a week on market. All you have to do is know what you want, make it clear and find the right company. Wasn't much more expensive as I remember. Factory guys said they like doing end to end vinyl, was very fast and easy.

Chance, Love the channel. As a single person, I mostly enjoy single-wide tours. I've lived in two mobile homes (one single the other a double wide) and currently I'm in an 85'X16' (3-bedroom two full bath) manufactured on my own land (in what started out as a manufactured home subdivision. As a single person. The industry misses the mark in neglecting the single adult market. On one's own land manufactured homes are perfectly sized for the single person wanting to avoid rental housing, Manufactured ( "family only" mobile home parks).

Nice to see a different floor plan in a single wide. I would personally like it with just 2 bedrooms. Not a fan of no linen closet or storage for the main bathroom, too small of closets in the 2 bedrooms, and last the furnace and water heater access in the dinning area.

    • @marcodamanlius
      @marcodamanlius Год назад +1

I agree. Just the main and one bedroom and you can easily knock out the closets and make that well, pretty narrow path into the 2nd bedroom as a WIC. Close off the door by take it out, seal it and only have one entrance and walk through the space where the closets are currently seen in the video and there you go. A giant WIC. My sister did that with her double wide by converting 3rd bedroom as a WIC. I would do the same.

    Okay, Chance. Good video!
#1) Love the Pantry!! But I don't like barn doors inside the house. So I would change the barn door to a pocket door. Kitchen is a little small, but doable. Not a lot of counter space and no place for an island. But you could add a small "counter" that folds down at the end of the existing counters - when finished with them, just fold them down out of the way. I would remove the dishwasher as we don't need one, and replace it with another cabinet. I didn't see a microwave, and not really sure where we could put one, but would need one just the same. I would want a gas or butane cook stove - I couldn't tell for sure but I think this one was gas.
#2) In the Living Room I would put a gas/butane fireplace there where the built-in is - it's suppose to be an entertainment center I think. The T.V. would go above the fireplace.
#3) I like the fact that the utility room is enclosed. I have never liked the washer and dryer being in the hallway!
#4) I'd turn one of the guest bedrooms into my Library Music Studio Office Room, or as much as I had room for anyway!
#5) You know, I actually think there might be enough room in the Master Bathroom to add a small handicapped tub. If so, I'd do it. And I'd put a seat in the shown shower. But if there isn't room, I'd either remove the shown shower and put in a big handicapped tub/shower combo, or I'd put my handicapped tub/shower combo in place of the tub/shower in the guest bathroom.
#6) As the only back door is the sliding doors in the dining room, I would change those doors to one like the front door. Or maybe one with 3/4 glass.
Place needs porches all around, some enclosed and some just covered. And we need a garage somewhere. Don't really want to put it at the dining room door though. So maybe a detached garage this time, with a covered, or enclosed, walkway to the porch, so we could go in/out by the dining room door. Carpets in the living room and bedrooms only.
Good video, like I said, Chance! The price isn't too bad either. God bless you and your family!

I really like this home! The dining area is a little small and the corner of the counter leading into it could have angled to prevent bruises…..yeah, I’d run into it all the time! Lol! If I were designing it, I’d probably angle the outside countertop corners on both sides of the stove for symmetry. And instead of the tv cabinet in the living room (why ever did they place those little stools there?), I’d have a gas log fireplace with an area for the tv and components over it. :)

I really like this. However I would prefer drywall instead of wallboard. In the research I've done there's only a $5000 difference between drywall and wallboard. My understanding is that the house does have drywall but instead of mudding it they wallpaper over the drywall and put those thin boards to cover the seams. The other thing is the master bathroom shower has no shelving for shampoo and soap and things. So really that's the only 1 thing I have a issue with. The wallboard vs drywall is just my opinion. The house is beautiful.

It's a very nice model. And love the pantry is so big! But I see where they make sacrifices in areas to make it work. I get the guest bedroom had to have smaller closets. I kinda feel like they could have made the living room a more smaller and give the dining room a little extra more room even though you could put in a screened in deck porch there. Master bedroom was a good size but I wish the closet was a little bit bigger. Then not to mention there's enough room there to add a 2nd vanity so you and your spouse don't have to fight over one sink.

With that said I would do a more traditional cottage style back door instead of sliding door. Would definitely add some storage in that corner by the window in master bathroom like the 3 shelves with doors. The closets are pretty small in the other two bedrooms but I could make it work. Definitely like this home compared to the traditional layouts. I would love to have this on about 15 acres of land. Someday 😊

This is definitely different and I like it. There are a couple of things that I didn't like, but could live with - first, didn't really care for the furnace being in the dining space. Second, the countertop space was a bit on the premium side. No built in microwave means that it will take some of that space. Again, I can live with it.

That pantry! 😍😍😍 Definitely impressive for a single wide. The only thing I was really meh about was the dinning area. It almost seemed like an after thought on the part of the designer's. 😅😆 Still pretty impressive layout for a single wide.

I really like it. Given that it's a single-wide, I think it's almost as good as it can get. Pricing, however, for what is a cheaply constructed home, seems steep to me. Still, I really like it.

It's a better look all around because smaller doesn't mean you don't get large size master suites these days! But also higher end materials come with a smaller home too! Very nice manufactured home...price is right!

I like this single wide its a good floor plan that don't have any wiggle room but I would switch the pantry with laundry room unless you don't mind everyone eating all the snacks when you are not looking and besides you are not doing laundry during movie night and the dining room was a fresh idea and I prefer a pocket door over the barn door, I look forward to seeing more single wide homes.

I really like this home, even better than some of the doublewide models you have shown. The only change I would make is to have the pantry open at the dining end of the kitchen relocate the furnace and hot water access. Otherwise, a well planned home.

Neat-O! It's fun to see new layouts and features! I like that there IS a walk-in pantry...but I would put the entrance in the dining nook and move the water heater/furnace to the "U-Til-Tee Room" (leaving room for stack-able washer/dryer and/or on-demand water heater which is very small). This would also create another solid wall in the living room making that space more versatile. Thanks again for another stellar video.

I like the way that some mobile homes are using either sheet rock (or sheet rock like material), instead
of paneling! It makes the mobile seem more like a regular house! However, this kitchen seems like it's in
a hallway, thereby increasing traffic through it! Lastly, where do you sit to eat, breakfast. lunch & dinner?
    Design floor, maybe?

This would make a great tiny/park model home for one or two people if the two bedrooms and bathroom were removed and a porch added. This way a little more room could be added to the dining area. And do away with the vinyl siding. Great tour, thank you so much! 👍

I like that it has room for a kitchen table, which is more than a lot of single wides can say. But unfortunately the space is small and claustrophobic. Needs to be next to the living area. Also, on about all of these single wides, I wish they would allocate a little more space to the master closet and a little less to the master bath, so you can have rods and shelves on both sides of the closet.

This is so beautiful I want to cry. In San Francisco, I live in an SRO, and recently rejected from renting a HUD apartment thanks to equal fax. They won't let us purchase a tiny house
and park it where I like. I haven't seen a marble countertop in 20 years. A house that size will cost 1.5 million dollars where I live.

Great home, Chance! Love the dinning nook, that's perfect. LOVE the pantry, don't find that in a single wide -- and they still managed to put a decent laundrey in it!
Yes, this SW is quite perfect, it has personality and you don't feel like its a set of boxes, there's great flow here. Yummy!
I'd love the back bedrooms to be the bathroom in the clear back, that evens out the size of the 2 spare bedrooms, then you don't have one kid saying, "But why does he get the big bedroom?"
The SW folks are putting their thinking caps on, this one is very nice!

Interesting, the floorplan for this mobile home is eerily similar to my father's mobile home, which I want to say was built in 1995. The bedroom/bathroom layout is 95% the same, while the main difference in the living quarters is that the laundry room is on the side of the back door, and the dining area is actually in the kitchen. Although I'm sure that this form factor likely has a decent amount of constraints, it's just interesting how similar it is to a mobile home built nearly 30 years ago on the inside.
