Some of us may have the sticker on our vehicles already. Some people don't.
What I'm talking about are the new inspection stickers. It's a new design Jay Galligan with West Herr Automotive says is helpful for inspectors.
"It takes a lot of the human error out. It's an added security for the state, and an added security for the inspector knowing that everything is done the right way," Galligan said.

So they don’t have to plug it into your ecu?
Just got my new sticker and there’s no expiration date so you have no idea when they go back to get your car inspected
You have to go back to where you got it from, and have them reprint it. Cops can stop you for that

What about on the Indian Reservation? They dont use them machines they still use paper and write it up the old way. They havent plugged a car in ever does this mean they will now have to comply and get the machine like all other shops do ? My truck is a 1 ton Diesel so it doesn't get plugged in anyways but they still have to scan it

Notice the mileage is also going to be printed on with the computer. So they can charge you your mileage carbon tax when you re-register your vehicle. Ny always looking for a way to squeeze more out of an already over taxed state...
The millage has always been reported to the state and since nys has been using computers for inspections for almost 20 years it’s documented digitally every time it’s nothing new the only difference now is the computer prints it and before it was hand written on the sticker. Also we’re not the only state doing inspections like this many other states are doing them.
Ny auto inspector here. If you have illegal tint just roll down your window and remove the fuse for the windows. You don't legally need windows to pass inspection so the tech cant fuss with the fuse.
So these machines don’t get plugged into your ecu or obd2 port?
@@michaelfiorentino4359 no a tint gauge slides over the top of the window. Same as what cops use.

The car inspection in nys is irritaring, enraging & unnececssary. Instead of listing what is checked, it is easier to say what isn't checked!!!! And there's always something wrong!!!! The Democratic Peoples'Republic of NY does all that for one reason: To harass the driver!!!! It is the main reason that I left nys & went to Connecticut where the inspection consists of only an emissions test & seeing that the Cat Con is in place.....every 2 years.

Naw it’s easier now we don’t have to worry about running out of stickers or the mail taking forever to ship them they are automatically ordered before you run out. One great thing is no need to worry about stickers getting stolen or misplaced because they are printed for each car and the best thing is they are using an HP brand printer so hopefully we can buy toner locally unlike the crap printer we have had for many years.
