    Whilst the typical ‘Buy it Now’ price for a complete or nearly complete staking set in good condition is typically several hundred dollars, I find that they are often much cheaper when listed for auction on eBay.
    I was lucky enough to come across an eBay seller who listed at least 5 good staking sets for auction, all ending within a few minutes of each other. The K & D Inverto set I won that day sold for about $160.

    Ive got 2 K&D staking sets.
    A 600 series and a # 18R.
    Today a good complete set will set someone back about $700 or more.
    This hobby is not for those who are looking to save money😉
    Looking forward to your tutorials and thank you 🍻

      Je suis d'accord avec vous 👍, tous les outils utilisé pour ce hobby sont parfois hyper chers , il m'arrive d'acheter des lots d'outils, le tarif est élevé mais quand on fait le calcule on est gagnant et on revend le surplus 👍

    Thanks for your videos, still I can't understand some things cause I'm new into trying to learn to fix my watches, I love antique watches and I'm very mistrusted, I'd love to fix them by my own, I appreciate very much the knowledge you share

      That’s how I feel. I took a few on line courses and bought some cheap movements and practiced on fixing them and did a lot of reading on watch repair.

      I am not a high tech guy, so I really can't answer your question. I record and edit everything I do on my iphone 11 pro. That is as high tech as I get. Thanks for watching!

    I was thinking, is it possible that pallet fork stump @2:40 is for polishing the pallet stones, or removing and replacing them? Or all of the above?

    Would you happen to know what the 1-4 N staking punches are intended to be used for...only list I can find only goes up to the M punches?

    • @myhobbiesarenotcheap
      @myhobbiesarenotcheap  11 месяцев назад +2

      I can only find the listings in my Marshall set for the "M" punches. The K&D has "N" punches listed. N1 is for driving out broken screws. N2 is for driving out cylinder plugs. N3 is a peen punch. N4 is for removing staffs. Thanks for watching!

      Yes sir I have both a K&D and a Marshall set...these do look like the screw driving out punches for the K&D but have holes in the center for a pivot.

      @@MrVinman I have looked up what I could, but I have found no information on these. I did discover however that the #5 and 5B K&D staking tool sets have the 1-4 N included. You may want to look up more on those. Also, I suggest you go to FB groups and ask, as someone there might be more knowledgeable about these.
