There are a couple of quirks in the rules for breaststroke. - Any time prior to the first breaststroke kick, a butterfly kick is permitted - On the first stroke, while submerged, you may pull all the way back - On the final stroke, your elbows may break the surface This allows the use of a single butterfly arm stroke + a butterfly kick, as long you only take one stroke. I am curious if it is possible to complete a 25 doing a butterfly-breaststroke.
@@chunzman The rule says the "hands shall not be brought back beyond the hip line, except during the first stroke". If you only take one stroke, the 'first' stroke is also the 'last' stroke. This allows the hands to be brought past the hip line, and allows the elbows to break the surface. No pullout, just one butterfly arm stroke and one butterfly kick.
@@AK-fz9up So they could do - gliding, one dolphin, one fly pull without body dolphin, then body dolphin on recovery on both 25 and it would've technically counted as backstroke? :)
@@AK-fz9up the rules are talking about the first stroke that is part of the breaststroke pullout. IT says that you are submerged while doing it. Not sure how you can do a fly stroke while underwater.
hahaha! Right? Training yards and racing in Metres sucks. I trained in a Yds pool at the Cdn Uni I went to.. . they finally built a proper 50m pool the year after I left.
I mostly impressed by how butter-slicing that entry was.
Pure art.
10 - 10 - 10 - 10, but then this is swimming and not diving.

Arms can’t go past hipline on that final stroke so it would not be a full butterfly stroke

Meanwhile the fastest breast roller on my team goes 26.2 on a relay exchange
Breast roller bruh
26.2 scy Br is actually very respectable. LM is otherworldly!
POV : You’re here from the BBC commentator
He makes a 25 short course pool look like a kiddie pool its insane.
It's yards tho
@@jimmy3k767 wow 2 metres less than a 25m pool
@@nathanrogers1793 that's a big difference when you are a pro swimmer like me
@@jimmy3k767 not. it. isn't. Im also a pro swimmer and trust me, 2 metres in a pool is not much different, either way the pool was 25m
@@nathanrogers1793 bro that pool is 50m by 25yard you dingus
Thats actually insane
Mental its made me go brow all the way Dog its Puke
BBC One sent me here. What a star 🔥
Very cool! May try this at practice some day!!! 😄

That’s actually crazy 😂
I love these kinds of challenges
This looks like a fun challenge! I'll try it in training, but I'm planning not to come up for a breath for 50 meters!😎
He already did this at a PAC-12s. Cheeky hand pay
This is a 1-stroke 50! Zero the first 25.
I did it in PAC-14s
no one like marchand. hes so graceful
BBC One sent you here so the RUclips algorithm could send me here. 😊😊😊
imma try this!
Bro gonna try this and go like a 40 ☠️ you are NOT leon
thats faster than my 50 freestyle I go 27.33😭😭 tho I am specialized for long distance swimming (still new to it so focusing on 200 and 400 free)
Thanks BBC commentary 😮😮
what bbc say ?
It’s almost as fast as my 50 free 💀
That’s my 50 free time…
Super 😊
Arizona State is the most fun school to swim at.
Calling me stupid in 104 different ways
How long is this pool?
I think it’s so dumb to have American pools 25yd and then everywhere else it’s 50m… makes underwater swimming so much more important
This does not look like a 25m pool
Thats 25y
I can’t swim that fast
Hey
A world record in the only country that has yards
hahaha! Right? Training yards and racing in Metres sucks. I trained in a Yds pool at the Cdn Uni I went to.. . they finally built a proper 50m pool the year after I left.
It’s not a real world record 💀
@@BobReginald-g5pDude it's Léon Marchand nobody can beat him in this challenge
