    I mostly impressed by how butter-slicing that entry was.

    There are a couple of quirks in the rules for breaststroke.
    - Any time prior to the first breaststroke kick, a butterfly kick is permitted
    - On the first stroke, while submerged, you may pull all the way back
    - On the final stroke, your elbows may break the surface
    This allows the use of a single butterfly arm stroke + a butterfly kick, as long you only take one stroke.
    I am curious if it is possible to complete a 25 doing a butterfly-breaststroke.

    • @chunzman
      @chunzman 10 months ago +5

      Arms can’t go past hipline on that final stroke so it would not be a full butterfly stroke

    • @AK-fz9up
      @AK-fz9up 9 months ago +1

      @@chunzman The rule says the "hands shall not be brought back beyond the hip line, except during the first stroke". If you only take one stroke, the 'first' stroke is also the 'last' stroke. This allows the hands to be brought past the hip line, and allows the elbows to break the surface. No pullout, just one butterfly arm stroke and one butterfly kick.

      @@AK-fz9up So they could do - gliding, one dolphin, one fly pull without body dolphin, then body dolphin on recovery on both 25 and it would've technically counted as backstroke? :)

    • @HarryKang-co5xi
      @HarryKang-co5xi 5 months ago

      @@AK-fz9up the rules are talking about the first stroke that is part of the breaststroke pullout. IT says that you are submerged while doing it. Not sure how you can do a fly stroke while underwater.
