That bud and bloom comparison was golden and exactly on point :) I love analog equipment and have learned to appreciate these little helpers expecially going Dawless!!! Your channel inspired a lot of that process! ... and that beat .... wow man! Thanks. 🙏
Eddie this is super important and thank you for sharing this content. As MPC user and appreciator of the vintage gear, knowing the proper studio techniques geared to our issues is dope. I was pretty bad on my cable knowledge but have had several friends teach me the error of my ways. Now it's crucial. Also you should get a a sponsorship! Can we get Mogami Cables to come through and bless you with some gear, let the people know what is up :) Thank you again! Peace peace
Glad you got your connections straight. Once that noise is outta the way and everything's properly patched, you can focus on dropping more tapes. Enjoyed your last release! peace.
Been going through your vids over the last week....one of the best channels I've seen in ages! I just find it really therapeutic to listen to your ideas on all things music....keep churning them out Eddie.
Every situation is different, but cables might be the answer, especially if you've got multiple devices and depending on your power source. A DI box might do the trick. Cheers,
insightful stuff on things i'm trying to learn. barely catching these concepts through in-the-box returns/sends, but cool to see in the hardware realm. getting a mpc2500, and I am heavily interested in routing out individual sounds
Awesome review!!!!!! Awwwwww man!!!! I didn’t get no notification that the physical copies were available of your EP’s 😢😢😡😡💔💔💔💔💔any chance of a re-up in the future?!?🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
@@eddieleonard6925 no doubt! Btw, you pronounced impedance correctly. Impedance (Z) is basically a measure of the opposition to current flow. It can include resistance (R) but also (if there’s a capacitor or inductor) the reactance of that circuit element. Z = R + jX, where X is the reactance of either a capacitor or inductor. J is the electrical engineering term for the imaginary number (square root of negative 1, often called “i” in other fields). It’s really cool to see how this circuits stuff applies in practical applications, such as signal flow and music technology in general. Thanks again for sharing bro!!
Bro thanks for sharing this! I’m a synth user and have been looking for a di box and this looks to serve my purposes well. Dope verse and and the beat… a man of many hats!! Salute!
Glad this was useful! I think you'll notice a significant improvement in your sound. There are a few 8 channel DI's, but this one (especially used) is the most affordable and reliable. Cheers,
Thanks Wes. The world of preamps is nuanced. Very closely related to choice of mics and mic placement, too. I have little experience with that, but I love running samples through preamps to saturate them. Works with plugins, too. Helps achieve that "console" feel.
Great video. Have you or can you do a video speaking about speakers and working within a room that's not setup for studio use? I'm using passive speakers and feeling like I don't get the right sound within my room and I never feel like I know what to put my efforts in, in order to get a "good enough" quality.
To be honest, that's an area I struggle with as well. I don't feel qualified to speak on the subject. Because my room isn't treated, I end up monitoring on headphones, avantone speakers, and bluetooth speakers with varying results. I wish I had the budget or know-how to build a proper recording room. I agree -- it's tough to know where to put your efforts, but luckily there's a lot of experts who have great tips on YT and other sites.
@@eddieleonard6925 thanks for the response. As far as other sources, it's tough because they come from so many sides and it's increasingly difficult to tell if they're spouting out misinformation for financial gain or if actually good advice. I also need to eventually get a sampler. I've been avoiding it with the reasoning that until music makes me money, it might not be financially responsible to spend the $350+ on a sampler.
Bro I'm just finding out that you can make bootleg versions of passive di boxes from power adapters that got transformers in them. Its a really interesting idea, reusing Old items. What
Watched twice and not for the obvious Reason😎. I did a little studying on the basics of balanced and unbalanced cabling a few years back, but this unit is really interesting. Was it always apart of your set-up and if not, did everything run directly into the 8pre? Btw Nice camera angle. That one shot was very noir.
Thanks for the verse. And yes, most people overlook the balanced vs. unbalanced thing. It's more pronounced with certain equipment (like my 3000 and s950). Yes, outputs went from di box to the mic inputs on the 8pre. Saving up for an 8 channels of "higher quality" preamps to see if there's a difference, but the interface works just fine.
@@eddieleonard6925 Thanks for the feature. More LIP tracks to follow. When setting up speakers and monitors, a lot of the time you have no choice but to pay attention to the balanced and unbalanced lines. I actually didn't know this when I first started DJing. I think back at all the strange issues I would have at my home setup and while doing gigs.
Never knew I needed this until now. Very cool. I could hear the difference immediately!
di boxes make a huge difference with certain setups. Glad this helped.

It's very subtle stuff but fascinating how it shapes sound. Glad you dig the beat. Cheers,

@@eddieleonard6925 Much respect Eddie 🙏
Thank you for this information and it’s very helpful! Thanks 🙏🏽 again!
Glad this was helpful! Thanks for tuning in.
You should do a video like this one on your Maletomp! Thank you for your content
:) Maybe I'll do that next. I love the Maletomp! I'm not sure I can even put into words what it does to sounds, but I'll try. Cheers,
ive been sleeping on the radial...definitely worth checking out.
It's a luxury item...definitely a convenience...subtle, but an essential piece to the puzzle for me.
Thanks for sharing the racks being used. Thanks. I appreciate it.
Of course. Hope this helps.
Never seen that thing before. It looks like quite good alternative for a patchbay. Thanks for another great video Man!
Glad this was informative. This unit has helped clean up my routing a lot. I'd love to get a patch bay to try that out too.
Thanks for the info I have one of their little boxes for turntables. I'll look more into this.
Nice. I forgot to mention they make smaller 1 and 2 channel di boxes also.
That was a huge difference in sound quality!
Cleans up all the hum and extra noise.
Thank-you, man! Very illuminating…
great device. a more expensive option is the rupert neve rndi-8.

Man you are a literal genius.
Far from it, but thanks for watching, and glad this was helpful.
Thanks Eddie, appreciate the knowledge. I've been battling some pesky hum lately so this is timely info...

My fault browser yt don't got edit. What was bootleg might not have 8 inputs without 8 channel mixer. Alright fam stay up
