The reason why Cell said "Oh shit-!" to Vegeta's Final Flash is because that blast would've actually killed him. Toriyama himself said that it was the strongest singular blast in this arc, and Cell had to move or else he would've been vaporized.
Your reaction to the end of episode 52, as Trunks powers up to fight Cell, was exactly how everyone else reacts to that scene. Such a beautifully aggravating cliffhanger.
The thing about Cell is that he doesn't just wants to kill but mentally just want you to feel like you're absolutely nothing

The point of krillins character is to always be lonely. in the original. Anime marin says she would've married krillan if he had asked right after he broke up with her
The thing about Vegeta/Cell thing is if it was Goku, he would do the same thing. Full blooded Saiyans can't resist a good fight.
As a OG Dragonball fan you're not just "calling it" you're killing it with the predictions, im very impressed 💯.
I'm always curious to the reaction of episode 52, because of the final flash scene. Just the sheer power of the attack combined with the Bruce Falconer track is just perfection.
I think my favorite bit about Vegeta's Final Flash is the implication Cell did try to dodge it last second to avoid taking a direct hit and dying.
Something people seem to miss is that even with Goku being the complete failure of a father and idiot, he is not going to risk his son's life. He said after Gohan returned his blast that he was only using half his power hoping that would make him to actually attempt to dodge, specially by acting like it was a complete full power blast.

I absolutely love your "Vegeta/Cell Ego" counter, and then -1 had me rolling. XD
Cell can't absorb 16 because 16 is 100% mechanical. Cell can absorb 17 and 18 because they're part organic.
I wonder if you notice the changes to cell's voice in each form. Since he's perfect now his voice sounds more proper, his last form sounded similar but more "restless" and in his first form he just sounded like a bug.

According to the TFS guys, in their cannon, Cell becomes Perfect and Gohan goes Super Saiyan at the same time
