SCP 3583 is a self-driving school bus that resists any attempt by a human to sit in the drivers seat.
If four or fewer adults are aboard, SCP3583 enters behavior pattern one. In this pattern, SCP-3583 will dematerialize and enter a parallel reality called SCP-3583-A.
If five or more adults are aboard, SCP-3583 enters behavior pattern two. In this pattern, SCP-3583 will travel to the sites of mass casualty events, seemingly arriving in the days or weeks preceding the incident, where it will circle the area for approximately 45 to 100 minutes. After this, it will enter pattern one, delivering each child passenger to their home before then delivering its adult passengers home as well.

Well there's nothing they can do to contain it currently and there's no garantee that shutting the school down will stop it or even attach it to another school. At least the bus has made no visable attempts to kill anyone.

Personally I like to imagine the reason this SCP goes to that alternate plane is to avoid traffic. As for the adults that alternate plane may be tied to memory

Can you imagine a class specifically designed to use the busses 2nd state to teach about those sites of tragedies? Not sure what the curriculum would be, but the visual aid would certainly be striking
A great example of how the SCP classification system truly works. They measure how easy something is to contain, rather than how dangerous it is. Thus, a Safe scp can be extremely deadly, while a Keter one can be quite harmless. Great video as always!

This SCP is a pretty nice reminder that the Keter class only refer to SCPs that are very difficult to contain, not the super dangerous ones.
Yes, most of the time the difficulty in containing an entity comes directly from the level of threat it poses but still.
Does the Foundation even _have_ a rating system for the hazard levels of the objects?

Again, Safe, Euclid, Keter... All of that only designated the difficulty level when it come to how hard the SCP is to contain, an SCP can be a world destroying dangerous threat but if you can just put it in a box and forget about it then it's probably safe because it's not escaping anytime soon.
I feel that this is a good time to make a public announcement. Keter class does NOT mean "will kill you in 2 seconds". Keter class means "Impossiple or incredibly difficult to contain"

Coming from a small town, i can verify that yes. People would definitely let the bus do its job if everyone was safe and the bus is a “hard worker” which still kinda means something out here. But i can so easily see a school or my school letting this slide xD

Anyone stuck behind them also knows about the huge black clouds of smoke from the exhaust pipe that you can smell even with your windows up and practically suffocates you in your own car forcing you to roll down your window or die at the stoplight in the drivers seat of your car, get new busses government.
Lol in the Philippines private school services/ school van will drop you off in front of your house they sometimes use their own car.
Does anyone else feel like this SCP entry is low-key a metaphor about our desensitization to violence/horrible events across the world due to being exposed to them via social media and the 24-hour news cycle and our ability to trivialize these things as long as they're seemingly far away from us?
Those kids became so desensitized to being in that "Hell world" because it became normalized through repetition over time even though a very thin wall (the bus) was what separated them from the horrors outside. I think the bus itself represents social media/news. It's driven by and invisible driver who despite not being "real" in the physical sense, it still follows a set of rules that allows it to guide them through traffic and the Hell-World respectfully. (Like a social media algorithm) And if no one is paying attention it'll make them pay attention by putting on its sirens. (Like breaking news stories) and the community just excepts it kind of like a law of nature and don't see any issue with it and are content in being manipulated by this invisible force. (Like us casually accepting that social media companies via their algorithms take our data with our tacit consent and use it to build profiles of us so they can tailor our experience and manipulate us into paying attention to certain things or to market/sell us products. And the social media companies design them to specifically be addictive and self-replicating.)
Also, let that bus break down in the middle of that Hell-world and their tunes of it being "normalized", yet "cool, exciting, and entertaining" would change real quick.
I think this SCP entry is speaking about us here in the West. But, I'm just talking shit. What do ya'll think?😅😂
No my friend, you definitely do get it, a lot of others didn’t, or are just scared to admit it.
The only thing wrong about the bus is the fact that no one got so desensitized and manipulated by the evil out there and started to attack their fellow bus riders on the bus, or someone evil already being on the bus (school shooter).
Evil is not only all around them outside the bus, but it can also be on the bus with them too.
The fact that many people in the comments are saying that it’s just a relaxing harmless and fun ride on this bus, definitely proves your theory right about how everyone is desensitized and could possibly make you a little bit more cautious while out and about.

The whole point is, new girl to a community gets to experience a scp that puts em through a hellscape, all the other kids are experienced and used to it at this rate so there is nothing weird. The barrier of safety is thin and clearly not to be fully trusted but it has not failed yet so why should they worry. Well everyday there is different between social media and reality at least for me. There are f up news and things shown in social media, but when I’m outside, everything around me is normal. So there is that. It is not like I’m unaware of those things. It exists some place some where but it is not like it exists everywhere all the time. So worrying about it too much is useless.

Hellbus is just basically just a better name for oppisitebus since pretty much everything is just opposite, normal world: sky: blue, police/swat: helpers, normal people: friendly, rats/spiders: small, hellbus realm: sky: red, police/swat: situation escalators/harmers, everyone: beat everyone to death attitude, rats/spiders: giant. It took a while to write this.

I went to the nerd bar in Vegas for Halloween, and I met a guy dressed as a D-Class there. I recommended your channel, but he left before I got his name. Hope he checked it out. Pretty sure he was my soul mate lol
So what happens if someone tries to leave the bus while it’s in “hell?” Does the “bus driver” get annoyed if the students are being particularly disruptive or loud? Will the foundation give amnestics to students who graduate/leave the school? Is the bus immune to outside stressors while the students are inside? If the bus capacity is full to the brim with adults, how will it get rid of adults to fill the seats with children? After a certain point, will it use its powers to deter adults from entering?
Figured that giving my point of view on it might help.
1 Maybe it honks on lower frequency or uses something similar to what it uses to put people into a trance to get on the bus so they will stay seated (in the video it doesn't show any of the kids moving around the bus when its in "hell" so this kinda supports the idea).
2 I don't think it cares.
3 seeing as how the community just rolls with it, I highly doubt it.
4 It seems intangible so maybe.

I feel like the Bus wants to either change the Overall Image of Demons where some are good while others aren’t.
Or unless this Demon is trying to Teach a Lesson by making its Riders appreciate what they have in the Peaceful City/Reality they live in cuz we know it can all change in an instant hundreds of times over.
Or it’s fulfilling an obligation to someone or has been paid by someone to do this.
While the demon is well a demon I like the idea that it's will not let a single person leave out of both being a professional and a sense of protection for those who it is driving for, and yes it's doing its job if it wont let you leave out of protection for you that's kinda wholesome
Maybe the bus is so safe because, in the “Hell Reality” it takes its passengers, it has full control over its environment, while back here it can’t affect the world nearly as strongly.
It’s like a Reality Warper that used its ability, traumatizing as it can be, to take its passengers through what is objectively a safer route home

It must have SOME way of defending the students in this scenario, right? Otherwise how could its safety record be so high?
It's probably the same reason why the Hellbus is never seen in archived footage. It has invisibility or perception filter.

I absolutely love stories where the town is just fine with the paranormal thing.
Like how in this case, the kids are totally used to this strange schoolbus and even have come to enjoying it. And how the school also has no problems sending it kids through hell every day. It's just so cute and wholesome.
We need more stories like these. (Another one that people will like is "my physics lab has a strange set of rules" where the narrator is just like; "Don't enter lab 3 at night. And only use the chemicals in that locker when staff are present because those chemicals are really dangerous." Like, they combine normal chemistry rules and the paranormal ones. And the message is like "Follow normal lab rules and follow paranormal rules. Not following either of them will probably mean death so just don't question them!" Like, the realism is amazing.)
The scariest thing about this anomaly is that if you've ridden it, it knows exactly where you live.

Has the spc foundation tried getting d-class personal to prematurely leave the school bus? I'm curious as to if they would exit into the new reality, or if they would step off into the regular reality. And what would happen if someone rode on the roof of the bus? Man, watching these videos just has me asking questions...
The bus will never leave until it has enough children on board, so doing that would likely be an unacceptable risk to said kids. And with the Foundation's inability to ever contain this SCP, it makes more sense to remain on the town's good side to keep things quiet.

It's SCPs like this that let me know that I'm severely jaded, and desensitized due to trauma. Even more scarily, that we ALL are so jaded, and messed up that we can just listen to this story being told just fine as entertainment. WE are the kids on the bus when you think about the world at large right now, and this says more about society than anything else. I've never had an SCP make me question things so much, and it's really messing with me. 😰

1: person with many homes. Take a d class, who already has a few homes, see where it drops them, or have their home not be in Oklahoma. Would it drop them at a hotel? Drive it all the way out? Just not drop them at all?
2: What happens if a person tries to leave the bus while driving through the hell dimension? Or would it have unbreakable windows?
3: maybe disabling it forcibly by shooting the engine block? Or melting it down.

ironically enough... with enough engineering I think you could totally recreate this scp in reality. not the teleporting or materializing parts, of course, but the outside different parts being held together would just be cosmetic changes. Thin tv screens in place of the windows and small speakers embedded throughout the walls for stereo effects could recreate the effect of seeing monsters and would only take good 3d rendering effects and the driverless part, we already have self driving cars.
Even though it’s a Keter, I actually didn’t mind this one being protected by a school lol. I mean it doesn’t do any harm to any of the kids so consider this Keter to be pretty cool to ride in. This was a good one. Thanks Dr Bob!!!

The Keter class is only because it's almost impossible to contain, it has nothing to do with it's danger, which is actually very low.
A dead/vanished bus of kids is a pretty tame catastrophe by SCP standards. And that's only if something changes.
You'd think they'd have at least 1 soldier and 1 specialist onboard every trip to potentially learn of what could possibly be images of the future since it so clearly shows images from the past.
idk about most schools but my school students had a set bus. like i would always take the same bus home and the buses even had lists of people that were allowed to ride each one
I was a massive horror geek when I was a kid. I watched slasher films when I was like eight. If I hopped on that bus and was still safe after the first go-around, that would be my favorite part of the school day.

Honestly this scp did give us an education of keter class scp not being violent but rather incredibly hard to contain
Honestly just leave the bus alone. It's contained itself in a specfic area, it seems easy to berid of any evidence of its existence or pass it off as a hoax, and it's kinda cool and helping out a school's fundings. Part of me wonders if the bus has any ill intent at all, but who knows really. The hypno horn could be a bit problematic at the least.
I think that the hellbus is a demon that’s trying to earn good credit with God, but can’t help but do a little torment on its routes because it’s still a demon. That’s my theory, at least.
plot twist: a school buss driver died and went to hell but made a deal with the devil to be allowed to continue his work with the catch that he tours people through hell in hopes of raising tourism.

This isn't a real anomaly. It's just an advanced self-driving car prototype with AR/VR integration. It wouldn't be particularly out of place in Silicon Valley.
Maybe if the bus would mind to be installed with indoor curtains and music speakers, it would be better. It just its travel paths that come through those interdimensional places
