    I just built a very similar PC in that same black Terra case. I looove it! It's for the living room and doesn't look out of place. I also did the same thing by getting an extra fan for the bottom and then realizing I needed that space for the cables. I'm 3 weeks in and airflow and heat hasn't been a problem which I was concerned about not fitting in that extra fan.

      I was expecting temperatures to be poor, but I'd say definitely acceptable! Just love the design. Fractal are doing the business these days
      My GF got jealous so now wants me to make one for her, so I'll see if a slim fan will fit with a more sensible PSU
      Thanks for stopping by 🤘

    almost all terra builds use a slim fan for exhaust on the bottom of the sfx psu. a sfx-l with the cables+a normal fan gives you no room
    nice build

    • @thecomputersurgeon
      @thecomputersurgeon  2 месяца назад

      I think even a slim fan wouldn't fit tbh, maybe because it's a 1000w unit? Not 100% sure

      @@thecomputersurgeon yours is sfx-l so sfx large basically :) I have a sf850 from corsair and the slim fan fits under no problem.

    That ITX PC looks really fancy. I like that how that Fractal Tera case looks. If and when I do my own ITX PC, I'll definitely take this case into consideration.

    I wish the fractal ridge performed as well as this in the horizontal orientation, much prefer the ridge, great video.

      I also love the Ridge!!
      It would cool to have one with a wooden theme because the hardware compatibility rocks, and it's very space efficient

    I've often seen the bottom fan installed on the OUTSIDE of the Terra, so I imagine other folks must have run into the same problem as you.

    • @thecomputersurgeon
      @thecomputersurgeon  2 месяца назад +1

      Interesting - you'd have to elevate the case a bit though right? As the fan wouldn't have much room for airflow

    • @theshakyproject2971
      @theshakyproject2971 2 месяца назад

      @@thecomputersurgeon I never even thought about airflow, I just thought it looked hideous and defeated the purpose of an SFF case. No elevation from what I've seen. I guess they feel the feet on the Terra is just enough?

    • @thecomputersurgeon
      @thecomputersurgeon  2 месяца назад +1

      I guess so, but I agree it takes away from the "sleekness" of this case

    It a beautiful box but it is also a hotter than hades without proper cooling, put a range hood on top if you value your hardwear or use it as decoration. I like it too but whew Fractals new era is tops.

    1000w seems overkill. 700w will do for sure. Totally worth it with the fan on the bottom. Also order low profile PSU cable and order a custom part on stay to be able to add another fan above PSU.

    Looks nice, but personally, i dont mind a bigger case. Rather have decent hw and cooling, but if it has the same perf, then i would also get it. :).

    • @thecomputersurgeon
      @thecomputersurgeon  2 месяца назад

      It's very close to the same performance, but you'll get better value for money with a larger case (paradoxically) :)

      I agree, I find pump noise really annoying so a high quality fan on the cooler is all I need. Set 82c temp limit, and I'm cool with losing a few % performance for the lowest noise

      @thecomputersurgeon  2 месяца назад

      Yeah it is very expensive. That's the downside of ITX. It appeals to a smaller market and requires more R+D. If ITX was mainstream I think it would be a different story, but for now the value play is mATX/ATX
