I know this video has 5 years, but I just found it! And thanks so much for doing these kind of videos for us who don’t have a tight schedule to do crafting, a new update would be grateful with the new craft tools out there
holy crap... the full sheet of sentiments just blew my mind, I have so many of those sets, that I just let collect dust as I hate, stamping them out one by one...this is a game changer... yay! thanks, now I am off to pull them all out and just spend the week stamping them all out and having them ready to go... lol
I really like the idea of cutting a background in order to make two cards out of it! I also like the idea of stamping your whole sentiment sheet at once. I wonder if the Scan-N-Cut can cut them all out into neat little rectangles, too, so they are ready to use. I’ll have to try that. Cutting out the stamped images all at once ahead of time is brilliant, as well. At least for those of us who have a Scan-N-Cut machine. I want to try using sticker paper with my die cutting, too. This way, when you need to use one, you can just color the die cut image to match your card, peel and stick! So much easier! Thank you, JD! Great video!
I've only watched two of your videos, but I'm really impressed with your work! You are focused, clear, give wonderful suggestions, and go quickly through your ideas. I really appreciate you and will watch you again!!
Hi JD. I came across you this morning and am soooooo happy I did. You have covered most of my problems in 2/3 videos. I am still getting to know my scan and cut all I need now is the confidence to go with it. My money saving thing is use a self healing mat as your cut into plate. I was going through loads of cutting plates so I saw a video on here bought a cheapish thick mat and haven't looked back. The top mat get dents etc from the dies but that's fine. I was also wasting card as the cut lines on my plates was marking my card. I have a Big Shot but please everyone be careful. Hugs and Luvs xxxx Wendy
Great time saving hacks. So many great ideas. My favorite is the tip for stamping our own background, to use a full size piece of cardstock and then cut it into 4s ❤️ Thanks so much
I'll go with Genius too, for sure, on all of these tips. My favorite is making your own background prints and the reasons why you gave for these tips! Thanks so much, JD☆☆☆☆☆
A full sheet of sentiments is a great idea! I already stamp a handful out in my "label" stamps to use on cards. and I stamp some out to use at our card making class at the senior center-but they are just recycling store bought/used cards and usually have the sentiment from that.
Great video and I do most of these but you gave me a couple of new ones. Here's one to add to your list. When I get a new sentiment stamp (to use on the inside of the card), I stamps several at one time. I use blank 4 x 6 index cards (yeah, I'm cheap) and keep them sorted in an index box. So when I make a card, I have the inside ready. Most videos deal with the front of the card. I rarely see one making the inside.
Thank you, JD!.My biggest issue is, I take too long making one card! I like to custom make each card, for the people I make cards for. But, I can use some of these mass production hacks to save time in some ways, to be able to personalize the cards, in others.
I saw a video where a lady stamped and punched out labels for future use, put in a baggie, lots of colors but mostly white. Same idea. I've done this often.
Does the ink stay sticky long enough? Or did you go ahead and add the embossing powder after stamping each sheet, and then heat them one after another? I must have missed something there....😏
I loved this video. I just recent,y got a stamp positioner and am playing with it a bit. Loving it so far. I make all our Christmas cards which is quite an undertaking so I learned rather quickly that it is much more efficient and time saving to do all the steps for all the cards and then move onto the next step. Thanks for the awesome video. 😊
When I mat cards, I make sure I get at least two labels/shapes, etc. from the bottom one - I use them later to put sentiments on them. No one sees it because it's hidden by the top one. I like your tips. Nicole PS I got this from Connie Stewart.
I’ve never found a handmade card video I enjoyed watching until I found yours! You you have a calming voice and so informative. I really enjoy watching your videos!
Girl, you are a crafting beast!!!! I’m learning so much by binge watching your tutorials!!! Saving them all to my craft therapy folder!!! Thanks for sharing! So helpful!
Very helpful, JD! New to cardmaking and you shared some great ideas. Little things like stamping a while sheet and then cutting. Sounds obvious, but it wasn't to me. TFS. Cheryl from AZ
I loved the sheets you used to keep all your precut images in for colouring. Hadn't thought of that, I've been putting together in a big box. Then of course can't find the image I want. I'll going to get those sleeves to do that. All your other tips are brilliant as well. Thank you.
Thank you so, so much for these AWESOME tips! I love all of them, but I love die cuts and the last one is my favorite. Now I need a Scan & Cut, to help save me time, by not having to crank out one at a time on my Sizzix.
My favorite tips was to cut more than one die even if I only need obe and store it wit the die. That's an awesome tip. Sometimes the things that will slow down my creative gift giving is ha in to haul out the equipment when I only have like 15 minutes to get out the door. Thanks for putting these together ..Im sure I'll watch this several times before incorporating all the great hacks I liked!
Your so awsome thanks for taking the time to show both how to do things step-by-step and fantastic ways to buy and save time....keep up great work from Australia
Amazing I got a scan & cut for Christmas but haven't had a chance to use it yet as we have work being done on the house ! Now I can't wait to get it out and play!
This was brilliant...I think that I like the two for one card as well as stamping the full pages of sentiments to have at the ready. Oh yeah and the die cutting multiple times not to familiar with the scan and cut but I will look into it
They were all sooo great i couldn't pick just one! I just CAN'T! You are a very creative person and that's always great to watch on RUclips. But what's even better to watch a creative person giving excellent tips and great ideas in a easy quick video with a bubbly wonderful personality that you can't stop watching and would never, ever spend up not even 10 sec. That AWESOME PERSON TO WATCH IS YOU!!!😁 Thanks for sharing 💜 Until next time.
I cut holes (circles) to use as windows, leaving me with a bunch of the centers for use as future embellishments. It's rare that I use them though, I usually forget I have them. LOL! You have some really good ideas.
I agree! So many scraps...toss? Or find a way to use them? I see a lot of videos on storing them. I need fast ways of Using them. Multi stamping of sentiments is one way. Die cutting banners with stamped sentiments will help, too, since I usually stamp on white, then mat them on the same shape offset on a colored piece. This video helps a lot.... Thank you!
@@wendywilson1736 I spent all day today sorting thru my scraps and paper. I divided them by color and put them in plastic sleeves. I stood up the sleeves in a bin and put it right under my desk so I can grab it and use it. Now they are not all mixed together. I also cut them into manageable shapes, cutting off all wonky pieces sticking out. A lot of stuff went into the recycling bin, and some went into a donate bag. I hope this helps me use them more. I like JD's idea of making multiples of some dies.
Thank you for these! It has been taking me a long time to do some cards that shouldn't be taking that long! I need to learn to do some mass production tricks. Love the paper that you made!
You're a GENIUS! Great tips! I especially love the last tip stamping & using the Brother to cut out all the images. I have one & I TOTALLY do not use it enough. And I'm going to now so I can order your hack & put them in those pockets! Like I said GENIUS! 😉😊
Never thought of the pockets to store these! I just cut a bunch of outline stickers with glitter and was wondering how up put them away. Thanks for the tip!
Thank you for all the awesome tips, especially the time saving ones! Okay, hold up.... scan and cut? Why have I not heard of this?? Holy moly! It’s like finding out horses have been replaced by cars!
I have the scan n cut. Love it, but never use it to its its fullest potential. Thanks for reminding me. Making several items on one sheet to color with different mediums later would actually be fun.
I love the scan n cut time saver! I lt would save so much time to have images stamped and cut ahead of time! It's would also be more convenient to take the images with you for classes instead of the stamps, inks and markers... Then everything to clean them with! These are good tips! Thank you for sharing them!
Brilliant....love love love all these tips for saving time and money. Now a new subscriber and frantically looking for videos I've missed...lol. Thanks JD
Thanks for sharing.... this is really helpful, I suffer from a chronic pain illness and I find making a card takes me forever now so if there are ways to help me with this I'm all for it. I have a scan n cut but don't really use it much, I got it to make flowers but they just take me too long to make :( ...... if you have an tips or ways to make flowers quick and easy please can you share x thanks
Absolutely great time saving hacks. I have the brother scan n cut and I love the plastic storage for the die cuts. Where I can get those? Please and thank you in advance.
I really enjoy these tips you have! It's really giving me a lot of ideas of what to make and how to be more productive. Loving your channel, keep up the great work!
Great video!!!! Question-- where did you purchase the clear pockets for your embellishments? I also have Brother SNC and I have a horrible system for storing my cuts
OMG JD!! I loved these tips and when you mentioned "just use the machine", I started to crack up because I have not been using my machine and have been buying dies. I know, how foolish. Thanks for all of these great ideas!!!
Also, ladies, there are so many websites out there that offer free diecuts! Ex. Designbundles, Love SVG. So not only do we not have to spend so much money on dies, but we can use the free diecuts and they are already colored! Love these ideas about storing them in the pockets and not having to continuously break out the machine!
Love the stamp the whole sheet and cut it into 4s. Thank you so much for these hacks. I want a scan cut but I’m afraid I won’t know how to use it. I am older and not with all the heck tech gadgets out there. Do you know of any basic, and easy machine I can purchase. I have spent a fortune on dies already. Ugh.
This was a great video with some great tips! I’m wondering if you’d do a video showing you using your scan n cut. I have one that I am definitely not using enough. Also, tell us which dies you pass on and which ones you do still buy.
I love your idea of stamping on large paper for background. Super smart. Like i feel like it would make it easier on my creative mind. Lol. Thanks!! Im new to your channel. Totally enjoying your videos.

scanning and cutting objects for coloring later - love this technique!

wowza!!! been stamping for 25 years and learned lots of new, wonderful shortcuts! THANKS
I watched a few of your videos and it’s amazing no one has disliked those videos. Great job!
I loved all of your ideas, but I think my favorite was stamping a full sheet with images then cutting it into four card fronts. Easy peasy!
Love the stamping all sentiments idea

Great idea! Then you can be sure your shape, flag, banner, etc.,.coordinates with your card! Store together in a baggie.😊

Always great info from you! Thanks for sharing your helpful ideas!
Awesome video. I do precut my paper, use pattern paper and stamp positioner. Some tips I most certainly will incorporate. TFS.
Great tips... I've been debating getting a scan and cut machine and you give compelling reasons to have one. Thanks for the advice.
Same here! Since it will be an investment I'm still wondering if I would really use it enough to justify the buy
All the hacks were brilliant thank you xx
