It's always exciting to share your first drone flight experience! The DJI Mini 4 is a great choice. It’s nice to follow your journey as you explore the skies with this drone. 💖
Hi David, Well done on the drone and your first flight. You did everything right, from checking Drone Assist to finding a good open space to fly and even using a landing pad. Your flight was spot on and you seem to have mastered it already. I’m not sure how accurate the RTH is with the Mini 4K, but with the Mini 4 Pro they say it’s a good idea to let the drone hover for a few seconds after taking off, 10-20 feet above the landing pad, before flying away. The RTH is usually a bit more accurate if you do. Again, I don’t know if this is true for the 4K but might be worth trying. Saying that.. you seem to have mastered landing it manually 😀 You’ve got a new subscriber and I look forward to watching more of these videos 😀😀 Cheers Steve
Thanks so much Steve for watching, commenting, and subscribing, I really appreciate it. That sounds a great tip, I will try that on my next flight and see if the RTH is more accurate. Kind regards David 😀📷👍

@DavidLudlowPhotography Thanks buddy. Been meaning to buy one for years, but always thought I wouldn't get the usage. Now we have the new house, new farm and the Philippines, I think it's a 'given'. Warm regards, Simon
Well done that man , I know the feeling of having to let go of a handfull of money in the air. I had 2 motorised gliders back in the day and managed to get a combined flight time of 15 seconds 😅, I have now subscribed to your channel and look forward to the future content... may even treat myself now that technology has come on . Well done it’s always scary if your new it’s all a learning curve. The scary thing I’ve found about using a phone is that on a hot day and the sun shining phones have overheating problems because of the data needed from the drone and the picture goes dark on screen . So I’ve purchased the 330 remote with built in screen so getting rid of the phone so much better and brighter display as well.
Hi, thanks so much for watching and your nice comment. That’s a great idea to purchase a remote hand controller with a screen. I will need to check which one works with the mini 4K. Kind regards David 📷😀👍
Great first flight. Seemed to handle that breeze very well. A videographer friend of mine gave me a tip for recording video. When you're panning a shot, do it very slowly, much more slowly that feels correct. Makes the shot look much better. Also, I think the reason return to home wasn't working was because you had a low battery warning. I think I saw in another video that you have to land manually after that message appears.
good to see you out with the mini 4k just like the mini 2 its a very good drone i had over 200 flights with mine regards from bletchley try and fly into the wind because the return will aid you
Thanks very much for watching and commenting it really is appreciated. Great to hear you have a drone for Christmas. I’m sure you’ll will have fun and enjoy flying it. Kind regards David 🎄📷👍
Nice first flight which always is a bit scary but you managed it very well. Looking forward to see your upcoming flights on your drone journey. Liked & subscribed! Keep it up! 👍
Hello again from California. I was surprised this morning to see you out and about flying a drone. I have been kicking around the idea of trying this out, but we do not have that many open fields and this state makes everything more difficult to enjoy doing. Anyway, I also enjoyed that you took the time to present multiple views while flying. I suspect that we will be seeing more of you with your drone in future videos and honestly, I think you were having a boat load of fun doing this. Were you doing your ground shots with your Canon M50? Merry Christmas and happy holidays.
Hello, great to hear from you again. Yes deep down I was really enjoying flying the drone, although a little nervous. I really wish I had taken the M50 to video as I was not totally happy with the footage I got from my Dji Pocket 2. I am looking forward to creating more. Have a great Christmas and New year, very kind regards David 📷👍🎄🎄
Great little video David👏 I have the same drone👍I’ve had it for just over a year. I find I rarely use these days, although we did take it to Lymington last week. It’s a great drone. I sent mine about a mile away to where my son lives and all of a sudden the camera went black and white followed by ‘Lost signal’ I thought that’s so typical of me! Pushing it too hard without easing into it🙄I hit the return to home button and just waited.. To my delight the signal restored and she flew back to me🤗 I doubt I’ll learn from it. I wasn’t aware of the hidden zip on the drone bag hiding all the new propellers until the salesman at CEX pointed it out 🤪 Happy flying
Thanks so much for watching and commenting Pete I really appreciate it. I’m not sure if I’m brave enough to fly that for away, although it’s good to know it flew back to you. Have a good new year regards David 📷👍
Hello Ian, great to hear you got one for Christmas. I’m the same, desperate for the fog to lift and to dry up to get my second flight. I’m sure you will have lots of enjoyment. Kind regards David 📷👍
Brilliant, I’m sure you’ll have fun learning and flying the drone. I’m really looking forward to flying it more and learning more. Let me know how you get on with it. Kind regards David 😀📷👍
It looks very similar to my mini 2 ps just remember if you visit various places to fly, Recalibrate at different places easy to do in the instructions have fun stay safe.
Hi David, Enjoyed watching your first flight, You did a great job, We all have to start somewhere, Look forward to following you, I am a new subscriber

Thanks for watching, subscribing, liking and commenting I really appreciate it. I am looking to sharing my next flight. I just need the weather a bit better 😀📷👍 PS: just subscribed to your channel, I’ll watch your videos later today 👍
That was great Dave. My advice - just relax. It’s far cleverer than we realise. If you lose sight and worry, just hit the RTH and leave the drive do the rest. Also if I’m ever worried I leave go off all the controls instantly, take stock and then plan my next move. The RTH I certain parameters so if it’s right advice you off feels no need to activate. Great job though Dave 👌
Thanks Phil, I appreciate your advice, I’m looking forward to taking it out again. Hope all is well. I must also get out more with the M50, the weeks just seem to fly by. Regards David 📷👍
I bought a 2nd hand DJI Mavic Mini on ebay about 6 months ago, didn't want to splash out in case I crashed it on the maiden flight. That first flight is nerve-wracking, It's so much fun though, good luck going forward.
It's an amazing drone, try flying in cine mode, the drone moves much slower and brings better cinematic shots. The more you fly, the more confident you'll become, enjoy your new venture my friend 😊
Lovely video! I was worried that the image might be horrible because the sensor's smaller than my moto g82 phone's rear camera, but this is usable. I'm planning on getting a Mini 4K or Mini 4k Pro drone but then I have to go through the tedious legal process of getting a certificate for it here in Rwanda.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting, I really appreciate it. There is not too much of a legal process here, apart from flying it within the law. Kind regards David 📷👍
Well done mate! Just don't get like me, only been doing it for a couple of years and now have four of the buggers 😅 all dji though great drones! Great new hobby for me after 30 years of Carp fishing. Must pick one out now to sell on, trouble is they're on in brand new condition but decided to sell my mini 2 se combo. Great vid for your first flight!👌👊
Thanks Paul. I’m so looking forward to using the drone more. Haha, I’ll try not to purchase more but that’s happening with my whole photography hobby. Started with one camera, then more and now a drone to my collection, it’s all a bit addictive. Regards David 📷👍
Great Video David. I was looking on getting a drone, couldn’t make up my mind on mini 2se or the mini 4K. You have eased my decision. The mini 4K it will be. Thanks a lot

nice and fun to see new people join the drone world! i do wonder why was the picture so washed out in the beginning of the video? any one has an answer for that?
Thanks for watching and commenting, I do appreciate it. I must admit I didn’t change any camera settings it was right out the box setting and the sun was virtually in front of me so I believe that’s why it was a bit washed out. Kind regards David 😀📷👍
David, once again, this is a great video! And once again, you tempt me to purchase a product you review! I've been interested in drones but haven't done much research yet. Perhaps I better start.
Thanks again for watching Trevor. I certainly found this drone to be a good price. The main thing I can see that’s different with this drone compared to the more expensive is that it has not got obstacle avoidance. It just means being very careful. Take care David 📷👍😀
You doing well to be honest I still get nervous now and Had my drone for nearly 2 years I've watched videos myself to learn to fly my mini 2 se as when u ask people they don't help so watched youtube vids now I've got a bit more confidence I brought my second drone mavic air 2 keep on flying buddy well done 👌👌👍
ive recently bought a dji too, not flown it yet, tho im on the orkney islands so should be good to use here, a very helpful video, cheers, liked and subbed... mick.
Thanks for watching, subscribing, and commenting, I really appreciate it. Wow you should get some great footage there, I’m sure you will enjoy using it, have fun, regards David 📷👍😀
Welcome. Your life will never be the same. I remember flying lower to the ground so I could see the drone against the trees in the distance. But you look fine with it. Every time you fly you will improve. On bright days try using a table instead of phone. An adaptor to hold a tablet is about 8 quid. Much easier to keep orientated. Welcome bro 👍
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I really appreciate your advice, I will look into getting an adapter for my iPad, cheers and happy new year regards David 📷👍
If you're not planning to fly FPV, then the Mini 4K is probably the best DJI starter drone. Otherwise, the Neo is cheaper, less likely to take any damage, and more aimed at FPV, while the Mini 4 Pro has a much better camera (but is significantly more expensive).
Thank you Richard for watching and commenting I really appreciate it. I just need it to stop raining and snowing so I can get back out for another flight. Kind regards David 😀📷👍
@DavidLudlowPhotography it's a snow storm her in Richmond Virginia USA. Trees are frozen. It's freezing rain now if it slowed down I want to fly some frozen trees. Can't wait. Keep on flying my friend
Hi david' great 1st flight video' I think you flew it well' im a beginner Drone flyer with a youtube channel also. I've done a fair view videos and still learning.
Hi, thanks for watching and commenting, great to hear your a beginner too and have a RUclips channel. I’ve just subscribed to your channel and will watch your videos later. Kind regards David 😀📷👍
Thats nice and steady, i opted for the choubury 89 as its under £100, i learned an expensive lesson years ago with a model helicopter, but im not sure if i should have spent more, haven't been able to connect to the phone only for the camera and it wanders about quite a bit , it really hates the wind too,
Hi thanks for watching and commenting I really appreciate it. I am absolutely amazed at how steady it is and how fast it moves. My next (2nd) flight I plan to fly a bit further away. I just hope it all goes ok. Kind regards David 📷👍
Great video, i know exactly how you feel about flying it, im the same, does worry you incase you loose it, over time you do get more confidence though, just keep practicing :-)
Thanks for watching and for your nice comment. I appreciate your encouragement to keep practicing. I am looking forward to my next flight. Kind regards David 😀📷👍
Your settings are very sensitive. There are some good videos on here on how to set them up to create very smooth video. Congrats on joining the drone club you will soon master it.
Hi. That was ace. Just a thought... I think you might need to clean your lens. I detect a finger/thumb print. The exposure system works but average metering. I exclude as much sky as possible unless I want it.
Hi Anthony thanks for watching and pointing that out to me. I must admit I flew virtually right out the box. I’ll give it a clean and take on board your advice about the sky. Kind regards David 📷👍
Hi David, congratulations on your first flight. As long as keep your drone above any obstacles in your area you should be fine. Also keep the RTH height above any nearby obstacles. Did you take out DJI's refresh package which covers you in the event of fly aways or crashes? Its definitely worth it for piece of mind. Yes, the rth wont work if you're 300yds or closer from the drone. Happy flying and enjoy your new hobby.
Hi thanks very much for your advice I really appreciate it. Yes I did take Dji refresh package. I’m really looking forward to my second flight, hopefully soon. Kind regards David 😀📷👍
Hi, great to hear from another first time flyer. I am desperately waiting for the weather to improve so I can get out on a second flight. Regards David 📷👍
@@DavidLudlowPhotography Weather isn't as bad here in Scotland, not really any snow and sitting around 0 degrees. just been out with mine still really nervous and taking it slow
Hi great to hear you have been out flying. The weather has been fairly good here today apart from very cold, and just my luck I’ve had to do some work today 😢
@@DavidLudlowPhotography I have the same drone. I've had it for approx one year now. Didn't know it can start by pressing both joysticks. Thanks and Happy New Year!
Thanks for watching. You are correct although I thought I would leave that for the viewers to judge. However in my opinion I think it is an ideal drone at a fantastic price and ideal for beginners. Kind regards David 📷👍😀
Good going, got mine during the black Friday sales and had it out a cpl of times, they are great little drones. Regards to max altitude u can set that at 120m/360ft has that's the restriction in the UK and max distance full. Iv had mine about 1.7km away and it was doing good. Regards the rth u need to be away from ur self over 20ft in all directions for it to work. U got a great location there for learning in 👍🏻
Just a tip, I wouldn't advertise the fact you've flown it so far away (look up vlos) on a public website, I'm not saying I'm squeaky clean in such matters, but then, I'm not making any admission either 👍😇
Nice one, they are good fun, I've used 3 over the years for house photography work. My Mini 3 looks just like your's. I've added some clip on legs to mine. I've flown mine from Richards house in York over to the Minster :-)
Thanks Paul, I must admit I did enjoy flying, I’ve just got to practice a bit more and overcome my nerves. Hope you’re both keeping well. Take care David
@@DavidLudlowPhotography All well thank you - I was anxious at the beginning especially over houses but it becomes second nature after a while, I often fly out over the ocean an look back towards the houses, that's also a bit of fun :-)
Hi, to be honest the DJI Mini 4K is the only one I’ve used out of the two. I have a HoverAir X1 and so wished I had waited as the DJI Neo does what the HoverAir X1 does and can also be flown with a controller, so the Neo would have been better than having both. But now I’ve got the Mini 4K I’m really happy with it. If you like a follow me type drone that is small and with palm take off then the Neo is good. So a lot is down to what you plan to use it for. Kind regards David 😀📷👍
Hi, yes this drone is just amazing especially for the price, such good value and fun. Great to hear yours is also being put to great use to help with your animal rescue. Good luck and kind regards David 📷👍
Hi, thanks for watching and commenting I really appreciate it. My understanding of the law is you don’t need to take the CAA test if your drone is under 250g and the Flyer ID does not need to be on the drone even if you have taken the test. An operator ID must be on the drone which is different to the flyer ID. Please let me know if I have this wrong. Kind regards David 📷👍
@DavidLudlowPhotography it definitely has to be on the drone I think you need to reread the rules or you will end up losing it if you get stopped by the police
I have the operator ID on the drone but not the flyer ID. I did take the test and passed, although my understanding is I didn’t need to take the test or put the flyer id on the drone. I’m still convinced it is only the operator ID required on the drone and not the flyer ID. I will double check later today. Thanks
Here is a paragraph directly from the CAA website: If your drone is under 250g then there are some variations to some of the rules. If your drone has a camera then you must register as an operator but you do not have to complete the flyer ID test.
I gotca mini 4 pro for Christmas and like you took it off briefly from garden. When im well enough, off to the canals at Foxton Locks Leicestershire. Where do you source your royalty free music from David?
Hi Ray, I know how you feel. I felt being in an open field helped me. I also set my maximum altitude to about half the legal limit, and didn’t fly it too far. I hope to take it a bit further next time but still very nervous. I’ve had a lot of advice in these comments, one of the main ones is ‘Trust the technology’. I’m looking forward to my second flight, hopefully soon. Regards David 😀📷👍
Hi I would have gone for the pro but I was really looking for a good drone on a smaller budget. I’m really happy with the 4K for the price. It hasn’t got obstacle avoidance but what a great price for such a good quality drone. Obviously it’s early days for me but I feel I will not need to spend money upgrading as this does exactly what I require. Kind regards David 😀📷👍
Im sorry but the prices you have said are way out my friend. No way did you purchase a mini 4 for under £200 or under £300 for the combi in the UK unless it was second-hand. You should ALWAYS check on drone assist BEFORE any flight.
Hi, in the video I actually said it’s just over £200. At the time I purchased it which was £216 for the drone and £319 for the combo. It is now £269 and £399 so quite a rise in price in a very short time. I purchased mine from the DJI online store. Regards David 📷👍
I used to think I wanted a drone. But the cost (back a few years ago) was unjustifiable for me. But the final reason I gave up on wanting one was the amount of governmental rules, regulations and restrictions that have been put on them here in the USA. So... I just put the thought out of my mind.
@@DavidLudlowPhotography You can change the sensitivity of the controls, including the rotation speed, for each of the 3 modes. So it is possible to set the rotation to a very slow rate for Cine mode but leave it faster for other modes Get in position using Normal or Sport mode then use Cine mode for the panning shot
Don't know if it's anyone in Swansea area but just bought dji3 and haven't got a clue where to start. Techno phobe . If anyone can get in touch help me out cheers
The mini 4k uses dji 02 video feed which is old and pretty out dated but for the price its ok its basically a mini 2 which is nearly five years old now Best beginner drone? Depends what you want to do with it Title of your video should have been " best value beginner drone"
Thanks for the information, I really appreciate it, as I’m sure you can tell I have started from no knowledge of drones whatsoever and am on a steep learning curve. Kind regards David 📷👍
Hi Dave, yes you do need an operator ID that is simple to apply for. It needs to be printed and put on your drones. Then it just needs flying based on the CAA rules and any local bylaws. Regards David 📷👍
all of the parks trusts grounds in MK you can fly sub 250grms...no worries... i fly in campbell park a lot, willen lake, etc...have trust in the tech...no higher than 400ft....just check drone assist ...no helip pads, red zones etc...
Cheers ive got over 1000 video's on different drones but.word.to.the wise the.caa have changed there stance on vblos now when flying any.drone from as far as you.are flying.without.looking at.the screen you should.be able to.know it's orention stupid I know and max distance for this is only few hundred feet away aswell so if.your fly bit further don't show screen shoot as showing all in hight range etc some.one.could report you just.be carefully as when you fly more.may want.togo.out further

But instead you start getting agitated and were not in control. Never seen your channel before and as a fellow life professional photographer I would have subscribed, but not now. Good photographers are patient, you are not.

Saying that.. you seem to have mastered landing it manually 😀

Hi, thanks so much for watching and your nice comment. That’s a great idea to purchase a remote hand controller with a screen. I will need to check which one works with the mini 4K. Kind regards David 📷😀👍
Yes got one to great little drone nice movies and pictures. can look for ice on the roof and
take some photos
Brilliant 😀📷👍
Great first flight. Seemed to handle that breeze very well. A videographer friend of mine gave me a tip for recording video. When you're panning a shot, do it very slowly, much more slowly that feels correct. Makes the shot look much better. Also, I think the reason return to home wasn't working was because you had a low battery warning. I think I saw in another video that you have to land manually after that message appears.
Thanks very much. Also thanks for the advice I really appreciate it. Kind regards David 📷👍
good to see you out with the mini 4k just like the mini 2 its a very good drone i had over 200 flights with mine regards from bletchley try and fly into the wind because the return will aid you
Hi, thanks. Hopefully I can reach 200 flights, I’m sure you must be a very competent drone pilot. Kind regards David. 😀📷👍
Thanks for this video mate really enjoyed it
Thanks so much for watching and your nice comment, I really appreciate it. Kind regards David 😀📷👍
Great video David i've just received mine for christmas.
Keep it up! 👍
Thank you very much. I really appreciate the like, sub and comment. Kind regards David 😀📷👍
Hi David, I had one for Christmas, looking forward to fog lifting and a dry day to get out there and give it a go.
Hello Ian, great to hear you got one for Christmas. I’m the same, desperate for the fog to lift and to dry up to get my second flight. I’m sure you will have lots of enjoyment. Kind regards David 📷👍
I just got one, too. I'm learning how to use it
Brilliant, I’m sure you’ll have fun learning and flying the drone. I’m really looking forward to flying it more and learning more. Let me know how you get on with it. Kind regards David 😀📷👍
It looks very similar to my mini 2 ps just remember if you visit various places to fly, Recalibrate at different places easy to do in the instructions have fun stay safe.
@@tonyrobinson362 ok thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it. Regards David 📷👍

I definitely think it’s a great Starter drone. I love mine and fly it all the time. A lot more than my Air 2S.
That’s great to know, I’ve made the right choice. Regards David 📷👍
Awesome Have fun enjoy
Thank you 😀📷👍
That was great Dave.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I’m looking forward to my next flight kind regards David 😀📷👍
Nice flight. I think I get one myself.
Brilliant, it is a great drone at a reasonable price 😀📷👍
Great videos, David
Definitely thinking of getting one
It’s a great value drone and you’ll have fun. Thanks for watching and commenting, regards David 😀📷👍
Well done for waiting for the weather, as soon as you can fly a figure eight left to right in front of you. All the stick skills will be in place.
Ok thanks for watching and the advice. I really appreciate it, kind regards David 📷👍
It's an amazing drone, try flying in cine mode, the drone moves much slower and brings better cinematic shots. The more you fly, the more confident you'll become, enjoy your new venture my friend 😊
Thanks very much I will try that on the next flight. Regards David 😀📷👍
Well done David , like me mature in age and not tech savvy . But explained it well and will 100% purchase this drone . 🤔👍👍👍👍
Thanks Mark, that’s great to hear, I’m really looking forward to my next trip out with it, just need some better UK weather. Regards David 😀📷👍
I was nervous watching you. Thanks for the video
Thanks for watching and commenting John, I really appreciate it. Regards David 📷😀👍
Great Video David. I was looking on getting a drone, couldn’t make up my mind on mini 2se or the mini 4K. You have eased my decision. The mini 4K it will be. Thanks a lot
Thanks so much for watching and commenting I really appreciate it. I’m glad I’ve been able to help you make a decision. I’m sure you will enjoy flying it and have lots of fun. Kind regards David 😀📷👍
nice and fun to see new people join the drone world! i do wonder why was the picture so washed out in the beginning of the video? any one has an answer for that?
Hopefully one day I will upgrade the drone, although I’m happy to build my confidence with this one first. 📷👍

Thanks so much for watching and commenting. It’s really appreciated. Kind regards David 📷👍
Good buy it's a great drone. Keep on flying my friend
Thank you Richard for watching and commenting I really appreciate it. I just need it to stop raining and snowing so I can get back out for another flight. Kind regards David 😀📷👍

Welcome to the flight family. Easy isn’t it! Have fun and enjoy.
Thanks Paul. It was easier than I thought. I just need more practice to give me more confidence. Kind regards David 😀📷👍
I got dji mini 4k too... on my dream.
Maybe one day 🤞📷
Your settings are very sensitive. There are some good videos on here on how to set them up to create very smooth video. Congrats on joining the drone club you will soon master it.
Thank you I will take a look. Kind regards David 📷👍
Something wrong with setting bro. I've done rth at 50 yards.
@@cheshirebowman4465 Thanks I'll check the settings 👍👍
I was the same as you, first flight a few days ago and I kept it on cinematic mode so it was slower 😂

Happy New Year to you as well. 👍👍
excellent vid, david, tho you forgot to answer yor own question, is it the best learner drone.
U got a great location there for learning in 👍🏻
Thanks for watching and commenting. Your advice is greatly appreciated. Kind regards David 📷👍
Just a tip, I wouldn't advertise the fact you've flown it so far away (look up vlos) on a public website, I'm not saying I'm squeaky clean in such matters, but then, I'm not making any admission either 👍😇
Great vid
Thank you 📷👍
Nice one, they are good fun, I've used 3 over the years for house photography work.
@@DavidLudlowPhotography All well thank you - I was anxious at the beginning especially over houses but it becomes second nature after a while, I often fly out over the ocean an look back towards the houses, that's also a bit of fun :-)
it looks a bit like mine. i have the DJI Mavic Mini 2. The instruction book on mine says at least 80 feet away to be able do the Return To Home.
Hi, thanks for watching and commenting, I really appreciate it. Thanks for the info about RTH, at first I thought I was doing something wrong. 😀📷👍
Which one do you prefer mini 4k or dji neo ? Can you help mee?
Hi, to be honest the DJI Mini 4K is the only one I’ve used out of the two. I have a HoverAir X1 and so wished I had waited as the DJI Neo does what the HoverAir X1 does and can also be flown with a controller, so the Neo would have been better than having both. But now I’ve got the Mini 4K I’m really happy with it. If you like a follow me type drone that is small and with palm take off then the Neo is good. So a lot is down to what you plan to use it for. Kind regards David 😀📷👍
Great video. Very useful. Thank you.
Thank you and you’re very welcome. Thanks for watching and commenting kind regards David 📷👍

Ok, thanks for the advice I really appreciate it. I will do that next time. Regards David 📷👍
I hope you have a Flyer id on the drone and you have done the CAA test😮
Thanks
@@DavidLudlowPhotography it has a camera so you do need to
Here is a paragraph directly from the CAA website: If your drone is under 250g then there are some variations to some of the rules.
Hi Keith thanks for watching and commenting I really appreciate it. I use the following for my music. ref.audiio.com/d363nxpm kind regards David 😀📷👍
Ive had my Mini 4 Pro for 6 months. I haven't taken it above head height. I am a bit nervous.
Are they werth buying thinking of buying a 4 pro save buying smaller one then wanting to upgrade. Let me know cheers
@DavidLudlowPhotography cheers have fun
Very nice 😅
Thank you 📷👍
Yes
👍
I used to think I wanted a drone. But the cost (back a few years ago) was unjustifiable for me. But the final reason I gave up on wanting one was the amount of governmental rules, regulations and restrictions that have been put on them here in the USA. So... I just put the thought out of my mind.
Oh that’s a shame. There are quite a few rules here and lots of places I can’t fly. I just hope I can get on with it ok. Regards David 👍📷
Whats all the dodgy flickering on the screen to the left?
I think it was caused by very low sun and probably a filter was required, although I’m not totally sure!! 📷👍
Hi David
With which app did you check the flight zone?
Hi, I used Drone Assist 📷👍regards David
The rotation movement is a bit jerky is that because of the wrong frame rate?
I’m sure it’s a combination of frame rate and me getting used to the control. I hope I can improve that on my next flight 👍📷
@@DavidLudlowPhotography You can change the sensitivity of the controls, including the rotation speed, for each of the 3 modes. So it is possible to set the rotation to a very slow rate for Cine mode but leave it faster for other modes
Get in position using Normal or Sport mode then use Cine mode for the panning shot
Ok Bob that sounds great, I will have a go a setting that. Thanks very much, kind regards David 📷👍

Best beginner drone? Depends what you want to do with it
Title of your video should have been " best value beginner drone"
Thanks for the information, I really appreciate it, as I’m sure you can tell I have started from no knowledge of drones whatsoever and am on a steep learning curve. Kind regards David 📷👍
Are there any restrictions? i heard you need an Operator ID?
Hi Dave, yes you do need an operator ID that is simple to apply for. It needs to be printed and put on your drones. Then it just needs flying based on the CAA rules and any local bylaws. Regards David 📷👍
@DavidLudlowPhotography I tend to write my id in permanent marker on my drone, Also fluorescent orange strip lining the legs.
@ that’s a good idea thanks 👍

196? Legal height is 120. Return to home should be about 40 lol
Thanks for watching and commenting I really appreciate it regards David 📷👍
I was really impressed how easy it is to fly. Then you pressed return to home and as it gets near the H pad youhave to interfere. You stupid man, just be patient and wait to seeif it really suceeds. But instead you start getting agitated and were not in control. Never seen your channel before and as a fellow life professional photographer I would have subscribed, but not now. Good photographers are patient, you are not.
Thank you for watching and commenting although your comment was more of an insult. The drone was not going to land exactly on the landing pad so I took control and as a first time flyer it was good practice for me and at no point was I agitated. Kind regards David
