I went with Exile Performance muffler front from Canada . The exile is aim to the recoil side,I prefer it . that way. I pulled the muffler and used heat shield foil tape on top of the oi tank.
I prefer the Egan straight shot as well...i have one on my 500i and my 400c...ive ran both on the 500i..the Egan straight shot to me feels like more power gain..imo🤙🏻😎....those 2511 pipes work great
The welds are thicker because the metal is thicker. I definitely noticed the extra weight on my 500i with the Egan SS, but not the weight of the West Coast BB. I think both are great products, and as long as you don't bash your outlet, The BB is plenty strong, and looks well made.
I am a climber and leaning saw building, timing and porting as I go so I subscribed. I’ve learned a lot from RUclips by sticking to the good channels. Nice to meet ya. I’m in Florida
It's funny to hear how folks complain about saw weight, one being better than another by a few ounces, spend double for light bars, but then want heavier mufflers. Both mufflers work great. Bark Box has a lower fuller tone with slight back pressure whereas Straight Shot is louder and much sharper exhaust note with less back pressure. No use having a muffler too open if it ain't sucking as much more air on the intake side.
Lots of personal preferences and theories. But dyno results are facts not based on personal preference, feelings or weight price point I can go on but you get it.
i got the bark box put it on my 500i and cut for a bit i liked it alot but then my saw started running like crap never had a saw run so bad for me so i took it back and they recalibrated and checked it came back on everything was fine so they gave it back and i went and ran it at work the next day it was worse than when i took it to them so i said fuck this ill try the stock cover and see what happends if not i was going to sell the saw cause it sucked so bad but once i put that stock muffler cover on it and made a few cuts she went right back to the saw i remembered so i might try that egan straight shot hope it works this time.
@@417sawshopI am curious to why it was doing it tho my buddy has the same saw same bark box and his doesnt do what mine was doing but like i said after i put the stock cover back on and made 3-4 cuts it was back to how it was when i first bought it
Bark box is PLENTY thick enough! Stainless for Gods sakes, not to mention extensively tested? You can see plenty penetration from weld on backside off plate, and finally their selling like hot cakes!😂
Just the fact that with the Egan product that you have to buy a separate deflector to keep from burning your cover is quote frankly a joke. Sir, you are way too one sided and you should only review products if you can do it without prejudice. Its obvious you are.
you don't have to buy the deflector lots of people don't use it. it's optional. I was pretty sure I just pointed out the differences that I seen and based my opinion on the one I liked. that's why I said you decide. but its my channel and my money I spend on products I use so I can say pretty much what I want. if you choose how to spend your money how you want...and you choose to say what you want on your channel. 😀 👍

I use a 32" bar, so the bigger weight is welcome to balance the saw 🤗
They were both tested on a Dyno and the straight shot came out on top Egan performance is all i sale to my customers.

Welcome aboard!
I’ve run both, I prefer the barkbox personally.

Nice comparison... With Egan muffler do I need to change oil mix ratio on my M-tronic saw? I run 1:45 xp+
on an M tronic or fuel injection, it's bolt it on and let her rip.
Bark box all the way
Gordy’s products rock! WCS
nothing wrong with a bark box... but the straight shot definitely makes more power
I am in Greenville and interested in bringing some saws out for you to look at. I don't have FB how can I contact you?

Do you use Jason's Filter system?
yes I exclusively use Eganperformancesaws.com products in my shop unless the customer provides other products.

Hope it works. I have yet to have any issues with the straight shot.

It's definitely something I haven't experienced. I would say there's probably an underlying issue.
straight shot melting paint not good for me no thanks.
each to his own. there's a 6$ deflector available if your worried about paint.
Bark Box will do the same thing... Cottontop has a video showing all his saws with bark boxes having the rubber on the wrap handles being melted
