[Intro]
Powder, pow-pow-powder
Powder, pow-pow-powder
[Verse 1]
Don't wanna know where you go when you're on the run
I'd rather stay naive, too much to believe
Blood falling out from your nose and I'm wonderin', "How?"
You glamorize your pain, wear it on display
[Pre-Chorus]
And I know it's a cry for help, go help yourself
I opened a million doors, you never go
It's past point of no return, when will we learn?
Alert me, when this shit is over
[Chorus]
Lying loud (Through it all)
Cut your face (From the fall)
When you're hurt (Who'd you call?)
I can't answer now
Spent the rent (On a high)
One-way street (To thе sky)
Clean it up (Watch you die)
It's yours to decidе
[Post-Chorus]
Powder, pow-pow-powder
Powder, pow-pow-powder
[Verse 2]
Show me a picture you paint of someone else
Lived a double life, wish I was surprised
Eyes rollin' back to your head, and I'm wonderin', "How?"
I recognize our faith, put it all to waste
[Pre-Chorus]
And I know it's a cry for help, go help yourself
I opened a million doors, you never go
It's past point of no return, when will we learn?
Alert me when this shit is over
[Chorus]
Lying loud (Through it all)
Cut your face (From the fall)
When you're hurt (Who'd you call?)
I can't answer now
Spent the rent (On a high)
One-way street (To the sky)
Clean it up (Watch you die)
It's yours to decide
[Post-Chorus]
Powder, pow-pow-powder
Powder, pow-pow-powder
Powder, pow-pow-powder
Powder, pow-pow-powder
[Pre-Chorus]
And I know it's a cry for help, go help yourself
I opened a million doors, you never go
It's past point of no return, when will we learn?
Alert me, when this shit is over
[Chorus]
Lying loud (Through it all)
Cut your face (From the fall)
When you're hurt (Who'd you call?)
I can't answer now
Spent the rent (On a high)
One-way street (To the sky)
Clean it up (Watch you die)
It's yours to decide
[Post-Chorus]
Powder, pow-pow-powder
Powder, pow-pow-powder
Powder, pow-pow-powder
Powder, pow-pow-powder

"I opened a million doors, you never go." It's like trying to help someone...
exact meaning ❤
Trying to help someone who simply can’t/doesn’t want to be saved.
But the meaning of the song is like your on drugs or just drug but it is like k-12 like crybaby went through a door maybe opened another one
The fact that I relate to this sentence…😢
"Its yours to decide" GOT ME JAMMIN
also when it says "I can't answer now"
REAL
The fact that I suffered with an addition was so painful and made me cry and now that I’m clean for two years I love the fact that Melanie sees the problems that people deal with. She truly is a sweet person.
Im pretty sure that it's because she suffered from an addiction during crybaby
@@VanG0ghsEarsmoking right?
@@demetriusblakney9736 Yep, but she quit to make her voice sound softer! :)
Saw people on tiktok saying they hated it at first but then listened to it more and liked it so that’s what I’m here for

Sameee
I HATED it at first, but i like it now.
@@Sxmm3rfx1ryMaybe cause you started seeing the lyrics
“And I know it’s a cry for help, go help yourself.” Best lyric ever 👏
Fr
**go help yourself, I opened a million doors
I remember the feeling I felt listening to this song, it was still very bizarre but I was sleepy, but it was so good that it even became my favorite
Same!
Same
I don't take drugs but I relate a lot to the lyrics. I ruin my relationships because I'm terrified of everyone close to me hurting me so I lash out. And it's so addicting. It's not in my nature to have healthy balanced relationships. I'm just bound in my own toxic cycle of being dependent and lashing out when people get too close. It almost feels like an addiction
That’s sounds like you have a disorder I think it’s bipolar but I’m not 100% sure
@@frostmoon6 that's not Bipolar. I probably just have CPTSD/attachment issues or maybe BPD.
@@rosarolli oh yeah I’m pretty sure BPD was what I was thinking of lol
Omg same!
This is relatable
I love that near the end Melanie’s back vocals sound more normal tbh
FR🍰
Oooh maybe the person is actually recovering from its addiction but I heard a sniffing sound, so its most likely they never did recover 😢
I really love the lyrics, sadly they remind me of myself.
I am so sorry to hear that...Stay strong
YOU DO COCAINE??
I hope you are ok bc this is abt drugs but stay safe🩷🩷
😢I’m sorry about that…
I’m so sorry..
finally a lyric video with lyrics that make sense
some of the lyrics are wrong
This song reminds me of an ex friend who was addicted to coke, it became abusive to my best friend, using them and love bombing him. When my best friend finally told me everything, we both cut contact with the friend because I couldn’t believe someone could ever hurt my best friend that way. My friend is now in a healthier relationship with his girlfriend for almost a year now, and both of us are much better off without them. I was the one the friend would call while ignoring my best friend, so I’d sit and listen to the friend break down and threaten to off themselves or do more Coke. This song feels like it was written from my perspective almost, nearly identical. If you or a loved one has a drug addiction, never hesitate to offer them help, but ultimately it is their choice to go to rehab. You can make it through
So sorry this happened to you.
wait coke the drink? or the drug? im so sorry if this comes out as rude or anything im so sorry abt what happened to u
@@queencolleen767drug
Everytime I listen to this song. I'm reminded by that one lyric from Halsey's Bad At Love, where she said, "But she fell in love with little thin white lines"
This song is a Masterpiece and hits deeply in so many places, tbch i wish she could've incorporated her album more to this style
This song reminds me of my mom she was addicted to drugs in my childhood although she wasn’t there that often in my childhood she did her best and I’m so glad she’s doing better now but it took her to long to realize what she has done
My dad had a drinking problem where he kept drinking beer. Literally until he and mom broke up
❤️
This song is one of my favourites it reminds me of someone who I loved and the person that I've been there for them and cared for a long time but they used that as advantage and kept hurting my feelings. i was hurt and confused and I kept telling myself self what was wrong with me .I kept trying to fit in with there friends but I felt isolated from them they acteded like 5 years old and they would always made me uncomfortable. But as I was listening to melanie martinez songs I understood myself and I blossomed like rose to a new person.im really grateful for your beautiful liycs and your work you you've done your liycs always makes me relax and sing along .thank you for your beautiful work and you deserve a good break and like wise man told the world can be tough but you are tougher .thank you so much for doing these liycs you have a heart of glod 🌟❤️🔥😊🌺🧚♀️🌹
I am so sorry. I can't imagine what you're going through...Stay strong. You deserve all the happiness in the world
WHY IS SONG IS SO UNDERRATED THO? It’s beautiful and the production is absolutely ethereal, I think it’s her least popular song from Portals though 🥺 A hidden gem. I could listen to this a thousand times, it puts me in such a chill mood.
Her LEAST popular????? Insane 😕
My parents and sister don’t like it because they skipped it after listening to only the 1st verse (never even heard the chorus) because the voice effect annoyed them.
Thanks for making this. So many of the lyrics I've seen looked like they had the wrong words.
You're very welcome 🤍
I’ve been listening to the wrong lyrics this whole time this makes so much more sense😭
Yeah some lyrics videos of this song are wildddd
I thought it was
Suffering (from a cut) One way street (tip the stars)
One year later I find out it’s
Spent the rent (on a high) one way street (to the skies)
There’s so many ppl saying different lyrics such as “one way street to the stars” or to the “scythe” it’s all different
As someone who has experienced suicidal depression. This song really gets me.
Me too babe. How old are you?
@@smg2258 I am currently 28 upon posting this.
@@darkdragonmedeus705 Damn I'm so sorry. I'm 18. Much love to you🤝😕
@@darkdragonmedeus705 LOVE to see older adults listening to Melanie❤️though :)
Fun fact, that makes me pretty much the same age as Melanie, I am like 2 and a half months older.
I love this song so much because it reminds me that I cannot help people that are struggling with addiction if they don't want help.
The emotion of the voice in the chorus is absolutely outstanding
These lyrics are giving Jinx Arcane vibes
YESSS EXPECIQLLY SINCE HER NAME USE TO BE POWDER
IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS SONG FOR SO LONG!!!
🎉🎉
So relaxing
When you are struggling the lyrics rip through your skin this song is so powerful ❤
this is beautiful
Wow I love this song it’s so underrated 😭 it reminds me of a family member who ruined their life bc of drugs and affected all of our lives too because too. It makes me sad even thinking about it honestly.
When I discovered this song I wasn't doing so well I now listen to it sending love to that version of myself 🫶🫶
So underatted I love it
Powder is a song about how you can change from drugs, and how people can help😢
When she says I open the million doors technically it’s a saying saying I give you lots of chances
Also, I think this is crybaby
i feel like it’s about someone caring about someone else doing drugs but that person not quitting
i love this sonjg iv been listening to this song for days and i had it merrized it in like the 2nd time
Heard snippets and people saying this song is amazing so I tried it and now imma be listening to this everyday
Love this song
Crying rn
Man, how many songs of hers called me out so far? A LOT. And I love her I feel seen and it makes me wanna write music too :3
This song makes me cry for no reason..☹️😭
I’ve never related to a song more
One of my fav songs 𓍊𓋼𓍊𓋼𓍊
As someone who is somewhat addicted to stuff this helps
"When your hurt, who's you call? I can't answer now" GIRL 😭😭😭
LOLL 😭
I AM ADDICTED
Makes me think about a girl I know ❤
i can't listen without crying
Such a nice song
Reminds me of how i countlessly beg my brother to give up bad habits for the best of both of us and he doesnt
The Best Song Of My Life🥰
Bro this song is STUCK IN MY HEAD ❤❤❤
this song is too relateable
Did you know this song is supposed to sound like when someone is singing to you when you're high off drugs? You can only understand it a bit. It sounds weird and deep because you're loopy
I cried.
goes to my training wheels rank omg its beautiful
"When Will We Learn?" Is my favorite line- I was in this sh!tty relationship with this boy and he made me cry a lot because he didnt care about me, he cared about another girl, so I found out he was cheating on me, so I broke up with him and he seems happier without me, so thats sad he never cared about me and never wanted me, so yeah...
This song makes me cry 💔
I thought it was
Suffering (from a cut) One way street (tip the stars)
One year later I find out it’s
Spent the rent (on a high) one way street (to the skies)
When it says powder i hear "pity"
Me listening to this at 2x 💀 ( love this song by the way) huge fan of Melanie lol
It's yours to decide!!
I have shared it to all my friends
1:15 yass
Why do I feel like “I know it a cry for help… its past point of no return.. alert me when this shit is over” is talking about war and that people need help and people won’t return and that you want to know when war is over
It’s about drug addiction and that they are too deep into the addiction to return to themselves and to alert her when they are done with the addiciton
@@ntan2223 ik I just said it feels like it’s talking about war especially those specific lyrics
That's such a weird and specific connection that could be made with a majority of songs lmao
Making me regret doing all of the drugs for half of my whole life im 25 going to be 26 in September ,seven yrs ago i was15/16 high off every drug until my grandpa had died from caner two yrs ago and now my grandma is sick like fuck man,now im sober but its to late now,now my brother is out on the streets getting high my dad found him and is niw trying to get him help 😢😢
At the beginning it’s
„Don’t wanna know where you go when you aren’t alone”
„You’d rather stay the night much to believe”
no?
That didn't really make sense to me. Trust me i did multiple research and I've gone through all the possibilites. I stuck to what made the most sense to me. Thanks for the feedback, really. Glad other people can maybe relate to your correction more!
Everyone interprets things differently, Spotify confirmed the lyrics and they are correct like this video
I love the part when she plays
"Tininininiini"
I nearly cried with this bcs i was obsessed with my friend and he made me a prank that he would say yes to me to be his gf but it was all a prank...
The chorus is exactly the relationship between my parents, my mom's addiction has her on her deathbed and she still won't quit, my dad has tried so hard for so many years but "its [hers] to decide"
Alert me when this shit is over.
I don’t do drugs but I struggle with s/h and a ed there like addiction and I can’t stop
“Spent the rent on a high”
it reminds me of my baby sister, and that kills me
This reminds me off my ex and myself, he was addicted to Xanax and i was going to the same path, be bothe relapsed alot in our relationship to the point it became toxic and it did not end well, it's been a year and i can say I've moved on but i have no idea if he's okay, we cut off complete communication
❤
Not me doing blow while listening to this😢

Hated this song now it number 1 on the entire album
This song sounds like someone desperately trying to save someone else with su3cidal intentions.
Nvm I just learned that it was about drugs
It does have more than one meaning, which makes more people resonate with the song :)
This has to be about coke
Her voice sounded kinda weird,I'm not really use to it(no offense)
its actually pitched down for the meaning, the song is at the perspective of a dr-g addict
it's suppose to sound like how a dr-nk person hears music
Is this a song for crybabys bro¿?
Some of them are wrong-
i was gunna say the same thing, some of the lyrics were wrong lol😭
the lyrics are wrong !
Tell me the lyrics then :) I double checked everything on a trusted site...
@@nicohallowed The song is about drug abuse. Of course it's "spent the rent ON A HIGH" not on a cart 🧍 Also, do you really believe Spotify lyrics?
@@_moonbaby_ um im sorry. there is no need to be rude, i wasnt trying to be rude either just saying what i thought. a "cart" in drug terms is a vaporizer cartridge for inhaling drugs, so i think it makes sense and that is what it sounds like she is saying. also, what source did you use that is more reliable?
@@nicohallowed In any way wasn't I trying to be rude. Your exclamation mark said it all that you're not giving advice, but instead hating on my channel, since you didn't even state what was wrong with my video. The last sentence was just a question wanted to be answered, because Spotify lyrics are not reliable in any way. I use GENIUS as a lyrics source.
@@_moonbaby_ once again i am sorry, i didnt not mean to be rude. the "!" wasn't mean to seem like i was yelling or anything, if that is what you mean and i apologize, i meant it in a friendly way which i now understand how it comes across rude. please do not tell me what my intentions are from a simple sentence. i am not hating on your channel, i never did that. i simply stated that i think the lyrics in the video are incorrect, however my tone was unclear, which is my bad. i actually dont know how accurate spotify lyrics, are so maybe they aren't. however, i do think she is saying "on a cart" because of the "kuh" sound. if you dont agree with me that is alright. i do know that anyone can add a song and lyrics onto the genius website, so it is possible that they are sometimes incorrect, same as spotify because i dont know their reliability either.
