The people saying goodbye I can handle, they're well meaning and mostly when they notice I'm praying they wait until I leave the chapel (this the chapel of a Franciscan school) is the band playing *loudly* that really bothers me. Luckily that's only on Sundays. Your parish sounds lovely...

I think that a better example of "Protestant Art" is the Dutch Renaissance Painters. It's really not a good argument to use Italian Renaissance as the example of "Catholic Art" and then Veggie Tales. Catholics also have their own versions of children's CGI art, and it isn't that great either. Plus, you can find plenty of examples of Great Protestant Art. It's not even trying. It's just as bad as when Muslims point out the beauty of a mosque and then compare it to the catacombs or some persecuted church that has probably been burned down by Muslims a few times. It just seems like a straw man argument and has no real merit. I mean, are we going to ignore Rembrandt and his competitors? What about many of the great American paintings? Do they just not exist? Do those painters have no spiritual life? No, that's just foolish, and it makes Catholics look awful.

He has claimed that its un-Christian for women to not want men in our changing and locker rooms, that he is pro-abortion up to a certain point, as well as agreeing with the co-host of his podcast that a certain nominally Catholic politian (who is still alive) should be made saint for stopping political rivals for getting into office. The last one could *maybe* have been a joke, but it was so bizzare and hyper-political a claim even to me as a (former) anti-Catholic Baptist that it served as one of the things that spurred me towards the Church. There are other incidents that are more Protestant in-fight-y, but those are the three that really stuck with me.
