- In this video I walk you through my experience of installing aftermarket LED fog lights on my Xterra. Although described as a plug and play item, I found that some modification of the bumper was necessary. In the end, the lights worked well and provided the extra visibility I was looking for.
Parts:
Diode Dynamics SS3 LED Fog Light Kit(White SAE/DOT Fog)
Duralast - Fog lamp switch SW9131
JC Whitney - 2007 Nissan Xterra - Front, Driver and Passenger Side Fog Light, With bulb(s)
OEM fog lights - Not Available

I spent a couple hours banging my head against a wall trying to get these to fit in my '05. Had the same issue as you, couldn't get the OEM bracket to mount properly with the light installed. I think I'll grab a Dremel tomorrow to cut space for it. Thanks for the video!
I know. Some people have told me they didn’t have any issues and others fall into our category. At the end of the day, I don’t think anything about the look, I’m happy with the lighting performance. Best of luck!
Great detailed video
Thanks! I appreciate it.
Im surprised you had to cut. I ordered mine and it fit perfectly without any modifications.
Yeah. I dunno. You have an Xterra as well? The bezel was too big for the opening in my case. It’s ok though. No one notices and I don’t think about it anymore. Still very happy with the lights.
@@TheNonnell you think maybe if you had put the light through the front of the bumper and bracket through the back and then attached them you could have avoided trimming? Just wondering because this looks like something I might try doing to my X. Mine has no fog lights :-(
Great question. I actually tried that and every other way possible before deciding to trim. Trimming the bumper was not something I wanted to do. Two things to consider is 1) I ordered an aftermarket fog light setup and LED pods and 2) had I already had fog lights with factory brackets, it may have fit perfectly. So, I’m not sure if Jon from the above comment had fog lights initially or not, but my assumption is probably yes and those brackets are better than what I had.
@@TheNonnell thanks for the quick reply. I suppose there are many things to consider. I guess a little trimming isn't too much to ask for those awesome fog lights. Love the way you keep building your X up man keep the videos coming.
Great Video<
How do you like your fog light upgrade?
Thanks William
I love it. It's been a huge improvement. I need to upgrade my headlights to LED as well, but for now if I need more light at night I turn on my fog lights. They're more powerful than my high and low beams. Definitely worth it. Thanks!
great video. I am willing to take your OEMs off of your hands if they're still available.
Thanks. Sure, if you want them, they’re yours. DM me on my IG and we’ll work out the particulars. 👍🏻
Can you put the website of this?
Sure. No problem.

@@TheNonnell thank you the turn signal you got from AutoZone correct?
@@alexpadillayt oh, the turn signal stalk. Yes. I bought it from autozone. Had to get an 08 style bc my 07 was made after a certain date.
@@TheNonnell only there's a cheaper place to buy that turn signal 👍🏻
