      Those are the original Isuzu mounts and were fine for who knows how long and diesel is heavier than gas. They are 3/8 plate I think they will be fine.

    I would keep the extra tank and put a small electric pump connected to pump to the passenger side tank. Extra gas might come in handy once in a while. You could use it as a tank for race gas for the maverick.

      @fraserwright9482 7 дней назад

      I agree with this set up, just put a T valve and use the same fuel pump as either the truck or the car you are transporting. You don't need a fuel level, just a switch in the cab next to the seat base so you can turn it on/off with the door open or top up the primary tank while on the road. I just use a stick to measure the fuel level as it doesn't need to be accurate or used often.

    Keep your extra fuel capacity. You'll probably need it at some point. If you need extra space for tools and whatnot, build boxes under the flatbed. Join the tanks by using a crossover line mounted about an inch above the bottom of the tank like we did in the olden times. I enjoy following this project. Nice work.

    I like the idea of half tank half toolbox. Hidden storage for straps, chains, etc.Would keep the deck clean and still have more gas storage. Unles your planning underbed boxes, or possibly storage under the hood area. Looking great .

    Paint the tanks black, but the straps the body color as a trim effect. Will carry the theme through.
    A small pump and detachable hose and nozzle could let you dispense gas from the second tank. Rescue a car or rig out of gas.

    WALLEEEEEEÈ!!!!!! It's really great to see you back, buddy!!! Something that I just now saw you may want to consider putting flex pipes in your exhaust system right behind the drop tubes coming off the manifolds. The torque twist of the big block could drastically reduce the life of your pipes between the manifolds and the stacks. Just a thought. Aside from that, I absolutely LOVE the way that system looks! Have a great weekend, my friend!

    Awesome job again! I really like the way the tanks turned out. As far as cleaning them up or painting them, that depends on what you plan for the truck. Don’t polish the tanks nice if you leave the truck with patina. And the other way around.
    As for the drivers side tank, I’m in favor of somehow connecting the tanks together to get the extra capacity. Maybe use an electric pump to fill the other tank when needed. Not sure.
    Don’t do like me and say I want it done by spring, but forget to set the year. 😂😂

I was thinking if you made a card bord template /radiator you could look around and see if you could match up a radiator from a piece of construction equipment . they flow a lot of coolant have a standard neck have a lot of surface area( 5 or 6 core) and are very well made and they have mounting brackets build in , Being that you live in A.Z the extra cooling capacity would be needed for towing with the A/C on . The hard part is finding a place where you can look around .

As what to do with the other tank - make it into a storage box. You don't want to keep all the things you need with the truck in the bed or in the cab all the time. I like the idea of two tanks, and a crossed feed tube. The truck’s probably gonna get about 8 miles per gallon or less. You’re probably only have about 55 gallons of usable fuel. I really think you should’ve planned on putting mufflers before it goes up the pipes. I think it’s gonna be too loud in your ears. They makes small mufflers if you watch Matt’s off-road, he tries different mufflers on his spud truck.

      Should be close, these tanks are the same depth as the motorhome tank.

    Is there a reason for the filler on the passenger side? Most fill on drivers side and eliminates going against traffic at the pump.

      Both tanks came with fill necks, I just wanted to be able to fill the passenger from the driver side.
