Having lived in Europe for so long; it’s really bizarre and possibly a bit cringeworthy how this is still deemed an issue. America has a lot of catching up to do.
With all due respect: while I agree that we’re still uptight about IR relationships (it’s mostly the older generations who have the hangups) and that Europeans, in general, have a more progressive attitude towards it, France, for example, in my experience, has issues with it. I’m 51 and since my 20’s I’ve met/befriended/worked with biracial French people, all born/raised there, speak fluent French, who’ve shared stories about the racism they encountered growing up. It was the usual overt and covert experiences that are prevalent in the U.S. and, btw, this wasn’t a long time ago. This has all been in the 2000’s.

Both Oprah and Stedman would probably tell you that they are both Black. As for many ,(not all but many) of the other couples the one that is named Black here is mixed ethnicity anyway. Most of the "Black" individuals are children of mixed ethnicity themselves with either a white mother or white father so one can understand why they are comfortable in such a relationship themselves. At any rate I think it's a beautiful thing (my own parents are both of 2 different ethnicities) 👍🏽❤️
