Its not that the first 2nd class carriage was an interregio carriage. There is no separation in switzerland. The first one was just an EW IV, standing for Einheitswagen, so unitary carriage, which was buildt for all types of country wide travel and the second one was a UIC carriage, built for international travel and to UIC standards. There were multiple series of similarly built carriages over the many countries of Europe.
