I just bought a pair of these headphones and was just curious what the disassembly would be like if there was an issue. Thanks for such a quality video!
I love how easy Sony made this process to be, as well as how clear the instructions are in your repair tutorial. I don't currently need a replacement, but it is surely nice to know that I have nothing to worry about whenever the time comes! Great job!

amazing brand... again... thank you for making parts on the sony xm4's.... you save a ton of people money vs going out and buying xm5's while anyone can just simply fix what they own already....my sony xm4's aren't going in the ocean just yet ;)
I replaced the right side swivel and now the charging light only blinks and does not charge. I'm very confident the the swivel replacement job was done correctly. Any obvious solutions? I've also tried a new battery.
@Jasbir Malik I ended up sending them in to Joe's ge for repair. They charged $100 for a battery replacement and it seems to have corrected the problem. Not sure why the replacement battery that I installed didn't fix it before, but they work fine now. Fingers crossed!
Not sure what part to purchase from your site, my XM3's won't power on. The charging light comes on for about 3 to 4 minutes then goes out. I've replaced the battery already but that didn't fix the issue. When I place them against my cell phone to connect by NFC the headphones vibrate like they're trying to connect but they never power on. If I constantly press the power button and can occasionally get a very quick blue light flash but it's so quick you can barely see it. Trying to figure out what part I need to purchase to fix this issue.
Nevermind, I decided to open up the other side of the headphones to see if there was a problem and I found it. I detached one of the circuit lines and pushed it back in place but no results. Then I placed it in about 75% of the way and voila, my headphones powered on. It must be a defect in mine because that panel isn't lining up with the connection perfectly for some reason so I have to leave it partially out, but it's working so. I may try and find a new circuit line once I figure out what it's called and purchase one to see if it's just a bad line or an actual defect.

My charging light still blinks, even without the battery connected. What other faults can cause it to blink? Note, the headphones both ears work if connected to line in cable, just battery not getting charged.

If droped in water can be fixed?..thanx
Yes, but if the corrosion is bad, then you would have to replace all the internal parts, and that would be pretty expensive.
Please get as soon as possible the replacement battery of that model !!

They are dead, buy new, Its same as you would put your pc fully in water
This is a lot less messier than the Bose, no need for a soldering and heat gun.
Pins and clips make it so much easier
Sony requests almost 400$ for cheap materials and features. Technology has degraded for higher price, less value.
We couldn't agree more. That's why we are here to help out.
Isnt there 2 batteries?
No there is only one.
