I felt you would rather sell Bayliner,,,,, Anchor was set up for dual anchor. Would have been nice to hear what the helm station had for running gear. The step in head does have advantage of keeping water in the head.
The 4788 Bayliner and Meridian 490 has been very successful. In the San Francisco Bay Area, California , this model is all over. Although every boat is a compromise, the entry with no stairs is great. The pilot house is perfect on cold rainy days and flybridge is spacious for entertaining. Getting in and out of V berth would be a drag and crawling around in engine room not real fun. The kitchen very nice with great counter top space. The aft cabins are very nice and offer more privacy but then you have the stairs.

The front hatches could be used for holding personal effects like a cell phone a towel A shall to keep them dry till you need

I have that same model boat Bayliner 4788 2001 vintage. The hatches on the bow are just lockers. I use them to stow dock lines. The two water fills go to two separate potable water tanks, one 140 gallon under the master berth and one 60 gallon under the deck aft of the master berth.
Thank you for answering our question. We figured s much, but wondered why they were clear. Makes sense! And thanks on the reason for the two water fills. Good to know - that's A LOT of water. Our 4087 only had 70.
@@BoatingJourney The 4788/490 is in my opinion a fantastic platform for extended time aboard, as in active full time cruising or living aboard for a couple. No boat is perfect as you know, but there are a few "modifications" that are very popular on the 4788/490 platform.
First to address your getting on the bed... I have seen folks that removed the side lower locker making a easier step up onto the bed. Another very popular and very easy modification is to combine the master and bunk stateroom. This can be done in less than an hour. This makes for a Huge master berth.
As for the flying bridge enclosure many have a full canvass enclosure with rear canvass as well instead of the bimini. This creates a large dry area up top as far aft as you want to extend it, although most seem to stop at the aft edge of the seating with canvass that goes to the radar arch. I have also personally seen a couple boats with full hard enclosures installed but those were $20K + modifications, and once enclosed it's always enclosed, making the canvass option much more popular.
I plan on taking my 4788 from Alaska to Mexico as soon as Covid settles down, and am quite happy with all its other features as a coastal cruising boat.

The Meridian 49 is a Rebranded version of the Bayliner 47. The 47 was built from 1994-2002. The first couple years of the 49 the boats were essentially the same. Later the Meridian got lots of upgrades in upholstery, carpet, countertops, cabinets etc. Brunswick felt they could sell more large Yacht's with a name change. Later on in the life of the Meridian line some models were built in the SeaRay plant. It's all about the Pilothouse in both models. Visibility from the pilothouse is excellent. Great PNW boat. If you're looking for one I'd definitely get the 370's.

you need to look at the Silverton 453. Most of them in PNW have a pilothouse, I prefer the kitchen and dinette up where the helm is on those.

Funny that You brought that up. I hab a 2001 Siverton 453 hard enclosed. It was between the 4788 and the Silverton. If I made another move, the 4988 would definitely be on the radar since I am a bit older and additional stairs as my nemesis.
We use that storage for our water hose.

How long did it take you guys to learn how to handle your yachts? We’ve only had a sailboat which has nothing to do with motoring around a yacht and have to take private lessons. Just curious…
I would say Scott picked it up quickly! Just a few trys. Me on the other hand....I do great at a linear dock, but im still nervous coming into our slip. Practice takes patience:)

If you live in the right place in the world then living permanently on a motorboat is a great alternative to bricks and sticks...the east coast of America or Europe would be my pick..and something over 57ft is my bear minimum!!!.❤️🇺🇲

Richard, sorry you feel that way. We don't give a price, because it may change. Since it's a consignment listing, the owners may lower it and our video would not be correct. That's why we share a link to the company. We included engine information at the end of the video. Unfortunately, we forgot our light and the footage of the engine room was too dark. Enclosed Bridge….waste of $ on a pilot house boat…. The 490 & 4788 are the same boat.. wow how many times can you get 4788 wrong ? 330’s are underpowered… 370’s were a better package
Yes, we know that the 4788 became the 490. Here in the NW where it rains frequently and we boat all year, an enclosed bridge is great.
