I'm Glad you made a review of the triple Square.
I like to know more about them....considering this is the first review you have done on them.
    ✌️ out Cat.

Also because of the above mentioned points, Most performance stud kits are in fact 12pt ✌🏻
And just to add on to that: because there is less take up (for lack of a better term) as well as less chance of the force starting to dig into the fastener, it can also assist in greater percentage of accuracy when torquing to spec.
Besides having better chances of loosening the fastener when under corrosion, mechanical damage, or warping from extreme heat damage.

12 points are usually used in a tight space so that you can use a bigger bolt but head is a little smaller and you'll have room for the socket to fit. If it's real tight then they go to a socket head/ allen bolt

I never thought about it. Last time i had a use for a 12 point was for a jack where someone removed the handle and you couldn't push it down to get the handle in and needed to let it down on a square drive

Cool. There are also bihexagonal 12 point bit sockets, but each point is 120 deg instead of 90 deg for the triple square. Using the wrong one can get you into trouble, especially with head bolts.

12pt bolt heads are very common in aerospace.

From working with the Toyota heads on the 1.8L hybrid engines, I've seen more the double Hex and triple square compared. 120 degree vs 90 degree. Interesting compared to the 12 pt.
