The reason why alliance raids often have dps as adventurer in need is that a party there consists of 1 tank, 2 healers and 5 dps, where otherwise it's 2 tanks , 2 healers and 4 dps (or 1/1/2), so there are relatively more DPS slots to fill for alliance raids. Interesting side note: In the beginning it was the same party makeup as everywhere else, but since you have 3 parties in there, you ended up with 6 tanks. And i guess designing good fights that really make use of 6 tanks is difficult, especially if it's supposed to be casual content. So none of the fights were designed for 6 tanks, but for 1 or 3. Do you remember the king bemeoth fight in Labyrinth of the Ancients? The fight where the boss drops meteors you have to hide behind? There are 3 towers on the outer edge of the arena, and to floor continually deals very low damage (i think). Back in the day, the damage of the floor was higher, and a tank was just deposited at each of the towers, doing nothing but interacting with it from time to time to turn off the damage floor... It was changed at some point between the releases of the first ARR alliance raid and the first HW alliance raid, don't remember when exactly.
