I really appreciate that the creative heads behind FFXIV have a sense of humor and embraces the communities memes. But can you imagine being a guy whose first big outing after battling cancer, is to get on stage and to troll your fans with an intentionally terrible Otamatone cover of your own music? Soken is incredible. An absolute legend.

It's been two years, Soken was so 'bad' on purpose, but I will forever appreciate his incredible consistency despite the apparent 'badness', and that's how I will remember this man as a genius - he knows exactly *how* to make something bad and exactly how to *maintain* it at the same level of bad. To Soken, this is what being a live is all about, having fun and sharing the passion of his music with the world, regardless if he looks like a complete bad ass or a silly crazy guy making completly incoherant sounds following a song. I love Soken, I love the whole dev team-- the outside looking in they seem more a family with how close they are than a crew of members coming together to work on a project until the project no longer has an interest.

I absolutely LOVE Soken for this particular reason-- his genius is so phenomenal that he created his own instrument, intentionally plays it off-key, and then has massive fun by humorously bringing it to life while showing us his fearlessness. I truly love it-- and after hearing his latest at the beginning of the new Endwalker trailer, I'm even more excited.
