    Is that because there wasn’t enough inhibitor in the central heating system?

    • @Heatking

      The rusty valves? No inhibitor levels are good, I’d tested them the week prior on the boiler service.

    Another great one Dan, I've seen a few condense pipes leak, I've always wondered what causes it as well

    • @Heatking
      @Heatking  7 месяцев назад

      Cheers mate! The plastics probably not fit for purpose 😂

  • @julianhawker7672
    @julianhawker7672 7 месяцев назад +2

    Yes, condensate attacks the PVC and makes it leak/split/snap. Remember that its a acid ........ Should we be using the high grade polypropylene plastic waste (Vulcathene) that is used in school labs etc, that handles acids etc.
    I've noticed the same as you, lots more problems with pvc con drains the last few years, as much of it has reached a "certain age".
    Comments people?

    • @Heatking
      @Heatking  7 месяцев назад +1

      Be interested to see what everyone’s opinion is. But overflow pvc clearly isn’t cut out for the acidic water.

    Poor quality plastic pipe cannot handle the acid attack from the condensate. Material science 101. I believe CPVC is more resilient to acid attack.
