Too Expensive
Okay so I built this farm. A few people have been asking for rates so here they are. It took around 10 minutes for the back two shulkers to duplicate into four total. In those 10 minutes I got 30 shells. Then in the next 20 minutes (now at full capacity with four shulkers) I got 109 shells. So approximating a bit here but that is around 330 shells per hour or a bit more than five stacks per hour. That is pretty amazing for a farm that takes like 10-15 minutes to build. A couple of tips that may be useful for someone: 1) Put buttons underneath the shulker spots nearest you so that the shulkers attach to the back two spots first. 2) Bring invisibility potions but be careful of endermen. 3) If you use a powered activator rail then the shulker will be popped out of the cart automatically allowing you to keep a safe distance. 4) Torching up the area you work in keep most of the Endermen away, it helps a lot.

Got a question for you cause you seem to know a lot about this farm. I have buttons where they’re supposed to be even on the bottom of the front tube but my shelter keep attaching to the side even though there’s buttons I’m in a realm so I can’t leave the world and come back, technically, I’ve tried and it doesn’t fix it. I was thinking about putting glass on the sides instead of button do you think that would work?
@@chiefawsome1 I don't know to be honest. Prowl mentions that as a bug, but as you say you can't relog. You can try other types of blocks that shulkers can't attach to, like walls and such. Have you tried waiting patiently? Sometimes the shulker realises after a while that it is attached to a block it can not attach to and it teleports to a valid block. To answer specifically about glass, I don't know. Good luck!
@@kenneth_ez I waited at the farm for about an hour. It never teleported, so I broke the buttons on the back two blocks and replaced them with glass and I broke the front two blocks and the shulker went where they were supposed to. If It’s a problem in a realm and you can’t re-log. I recommend using glass instead of buttons but I built it in a creative mode first to test it, and didn’t have that problem when using buttons

only works on bedrock btw, on java use 3 high slabs instead of armor stands, and you need buttons on the glass as the shulkers can stick to glass on java. other than that it works fine

@takis9672 🤣 shows how much you know about the differences of bedrock and Java. The thumbnail is an obvious PICTURE. If I wanted them to read the title I would have said that they can't read the title. They can not read the thumbnail. Reading does not only mean as in written words! A picture can speak a thousand words!
This is amazing no snow golems needed I made it on easy and used it on hard mode while I ate supper came back to find 2 stacks of shells!. Thanx!!
Just built this farm last night and already have it at full capacity! Mostly using this farm as a sort of breeder/shell farm hybrid. Im planning on moving the duped shulkers in the front towards the nearby portal and attempting to bring them to the overworld for a more accessible/ convenient farm for the realm im in.... but the rates on this one are already fantastic!
A couple things, as someone who is used to moving shulkers-- for anyone scouring the comments for tips on this build:
-When moving shulkers, Boats and Invisibilty potions are your best friends!!
You can make an Invisibility potion with the following ingredients: netherwart (for awkward potion), golden carrot (for night vision), then finally a fermented spider eye to corrupt it into Invisibility. That gets you a 3 minute potion; but if you want an 8min one you can add redstone as well at the end.
Note: Endermen can still see you with Invisibility potions-- and i think their distance for spotting you looking is actually increased-- so be extra careful. You cant wear a pumpkin head or armor because the Shulkers will spot you and attack.
You can basically bring your shulker filled boat right to where you have created the railway staircasing up. It will save you on rails a ton.
-Make sure to button every piece of endstone/ and solid blocks within 12 blocks of your railway's start before hand (except the one you want your shulker to go to when you remove it from the boat)/ and make sure your staircase is glass (those dont have to be buttoned).
- The way shulkers work is that they check 12 blocks in every direction for a valid spot to teleport. Thats why Prowl builds the shulker platform 14 blocks up; its so the shulkers cant teleport down... its also why a few people in the comments have teleporting issues though. The shulkers sit on the 13th block, so if you build something 1 block too high on the shell retrieval platform-- or put the shulkers one block too low--- they are within teleporting range. If you frequently lose count while building up, i suggest building an extra 2 blocks higher for some wiggle room.
-If you want to be extra careful, you could always build the shell retrieval platform out of glass, but just building at the correct height, or higher, will do the trick just fine tbh.
-As for shulkers not duplicating; shulkers will only duplicate when hit by a shulker bullet while their shell is open, and only when they have more than half health. The shulker hit will attempt to teleport somewhere within 8 blocks of their current location, and the duped shulker will appear in its place. When you have 1 shulker within an 8x8x8 area, the chance of duping is 100% (aka hit with its own bullet), with 2 Shulkers that drops to 80%, then 60% with a 3rd.... and so on. When there are 6 shulkers in a 8x8x8 area it is impossible to dupe them further.
So mathmatically it is actually more difficult to dupe the more shulkers you have.... but also, you have to hope that the shulkers dont drop below half health. If their health drops to zero/ the shulker dies and a new one spawns in its place- which is how you get shells. When the shulkers are being hit by bullets constantly, their health will usually drop before it even gets to do a check for duping.
AKA: duping is purely luck with this set up, which is why some people in the comments are having trouble. I spent a while trying to get them to dupe last night, with no luck... but this morning, I logged on, and I duped two shulkers immediately! Im sure Splash potions of health could be useful for duping tho!
-for shulkers getting stuck on glass or rails; and relogging not fixing them, if relogging doesnt work, break a rail or block nearby. Sometimes bedrock is just being buggy and needs a block update to put the shulker where it should be!
Some extra notes:
-The shulkers can hit you on the scaffolding. If you crouch in scaffolding while levitating, you can still descend..... but I recommend making a glass wall in front of the scaffolding to prevent this if you can spare the glass. Dont make it out of anything but glass if you do this!!!
-shells sometimes get stuck on the fence gates. Signs may fix this problem, but I haven't tested that theory yet.... ill edit with solutions on this front after some testing....
Edit: I'm just stupid. Remember to open the gates if you use them LOL

This comment is a HUGE help in understanding shulkers. Currently my farm only has 2 shulkers. I had a 3rd, but somehow he teleported down below so it ended up getting the sword. I suppose it's POSSIBLE I miscounted, but I don't think so. Just in case I did though, I placed buttons around the top of the collection area. Maybe I'll have better luck duping on my next play session.
Edit: Patience was the key, after about an hour and a half, I had 4 shulkers in the farm... well 5... Another one spawned on the catch tray. A couple dozen more buttons outta take care of that though

I love how KISS this was. I had over a stack of Shulkers in less than an hour. My jerks did not duplicate, but for the ease and convenience, I will always refer to this as one of the best farms to make in Survival. Thank you!
Love this version. I only play single player so i dont need 200 stacks of shulkers. This looks like an easy challenge and will be plenty for my single player world

Love this , I only play single player and have been needing more shulkers, spent an evening at this farm and filled 1 shulker chest full of shulkers stacks, I may never need this farm again but it was so quick to build and easy, I'll be using shulkers for a while
Bruh. Easiest shulker farm I’ve ever seen. Easy to set up, no complicated mechanics or snow golems or weird stuff, easy to get the shulkers TO the farm which is super helpful, and most importantly, works like a charm. Produces more shells than I’ll ever need.

Works like a charm on bedrock. Thanks Prowl! I brought two stacks of glass and used a lot of that while moving them around. I also used a piston and pushed the minecarts onto some tracks. Also used a carved pumpkin to help keep the endermen at bay.

Perfect! I was just thinking I don’t need billions of shells. It would be great to just have a quick simple shucker farm that isn’t so big and doesn’t require all kinds of crazy portal stuff. This is nice and simple.

For those who going to build this, make the shulker landed platform higher or cover with glass block (beside the bottom), cover the side of upper water platform with glass too, this can prevent the shulker teleport.
Keep er up prowl.... love your stuff... have used all kinds of clocks, item elevators, farms etc. Bedrock stuff is hard to find and all yours are efficuent and well explained. I already have almost a double chest of shells from end raiding, but i ve never made a shulker farm. I was out of project ideas until now... Tx

Nice Farm! I like when content creators make simpler versions of farms where the setup time is much shorter. Sometimes we just don't need the farm that produces thousands of items per hour when that is more than we'll ever be able to use, and as useful as Shulker Boxes are there is still no need for a huge elaborate farm when something like this will get you all you need for much less effort.
This is a ridiculous comment. I can make a farm even faster than this involves no shulker transport uses less resources & produces approx 2,500 per hour 😂

Very nice, I was originally planning on just making the same one as SilentWhisper did (with the double Snow Golem setup). But this is much easier to build and move the Shulkers into place.

First watched 6 months ago (when originally released) and FINALLY built it. Bit of hassle with the need to relog a few times to get the minecarts moving and misplaced shulkers to move themselves. After working out the initial farm bugs, it’s working great. Two additional shulkers took about 2 minutes to show up.
2 stacks of shells in about 20 minutes 🤯

You can do the whole setup and transportation of the Shulkers on peaceful mode, then put it on Easy/Medium/Hard when you want to use the farm.

Just built this and it is ticking away. I should have ready the latest comment about buttons on the second platform so the first two stay close. Mine started with one on each platform, but it is still working nicely and I don't see any issues at all. Glad I found this!!

Tip: Use invisibility potions when trying to break minecarts. If you're not wearing anything, and don't hold anything, you can get close, break the minecart, and walk away.
Wow, that is astonishingly simple. I’ll probably still do a ton of end looting because it’s fun but this farm is going to be crucial for end game storage.

works as of bedrock 1.20.40... though the buggars were quite insistent on not moving to the underside of the the solid block, patience will get it done. logging in and out... waiting in a position where you can see without drawing fire lol
also.... even if in the end you get 1 shulker on each 2 block goal... go with it.. they will fill out all 4 positions. they did on mine :) thank you mr prowl...

Awesome farm, only difference i made was lower the foundation into the ground, i hate levitating farms, and i encased the scaffolds in glass so i can get chest and climb without any problems, also i can look around without angering endermen! Tnx man the others was way to complicated this will keep me with loads of shulkers

It is much easier, The most difficult part i found was dismantling the minecart ramp, As i didn't have any invisibility potions & was too stubborn to travel back to whip some up lol.. 😂
🤣 Watching this video gave me the confidence to finally try this farm. Many seem so big that I feel like it would be to much work if it failed like some others I have tried.
So I packed up and headed to the end and when I ported to my first location that I had just fixed up with a platform and walls to keep from accidentally falling into the void, the game glitched me into the wall and then I fell. Thankfully most my building stuff was in my enderchest but man all the armor…. Well I grinned out a new set and copied my world to see if I could fix my portal without killing the dragon again.had to go in naked with an ender peal and give it a toss before I died.
So I am very very happy this farm works great for all that trouble, though I would have had that no matter, the next time I went back.

Is amazing, works perfectly. I've expanded it to have a total of 3 sections, so needed 6 shulkers to get it started but has tripled my output!
Edit: after a 30min AFK test, I got 2 stacks and 40. And not all the shulkers duplicated themselves yet so could be much higher
Curious, can you have the minecarts run into a cactus to break the minecarts? Would they attach to the cactus? If so, would putting buttons down next to the cactus prevent them from attaching to it?

is the shulker farm with snow golems broken? i know there's a little maintenance with those as sometimes the snow golems disappear or sometimes reloading the chunk they're in will bring them back but this does seem like you could afk it all night without problems

You also could turn this into an XP farm....have to do some modifications and probably copy the shulker design on all 4 sides aka left right and infront but could make this a somewhat usuable XP farm :D
Just built it. Screwed up by wearing armor with thorns and made alot of extra work.
Just build it on MC Bedrock 1.20 on PS4. Works perfectly, after few minutes it was on 3 shulkers already. For those struggling with getting with the shulker loading where the shulker ends up in the minecart but not on the rail, dig around the outside so you dont get seen and reroute the rails 2 blocks below the shulker minecart and break the block to drop it onto the rail. Having all the rails at the city powered it makes it easier as well. That part is messy but doable. Love the simple design and how powerful it actually is. Now for some overnight AFK sessions :)
Maybe a dumb question, but will this work on java? Or are the mechanics slightly different?

An easy way to avoid being shot is invisibility potions. You can make a few and build this fairly easily.
A quick word of warning,
I built it what I thought was right and ended up one block short between the water system and the shulker hanging spot so I had one teleport onto the water system. As a safety, I put buttons all over the water system and haven't had any issues since. If I were building it again I'd give another couple of blocks in height between them as a precaution or button the available surfaces on the water catchment just as a precaution.
Fun fact shulkers don't deswopn on peaceful mode so if you want you can build the farm on peaceful and than swith to your original difficulty

I just built this farm, but i was wondering, will the shulker bullets eventually break the armor stands?
you can just make the two Schulker in the sky like you did it and stand under it and they kill each other and you get instantly the the shulker shells if you want to afk just put hopper under where you standing into a chest that's the easiest farm
I suggest using the invisibility potion when moving the shulkers. Take off your armor or mobs can still see you and be careful of Endermen. They can still attack you even if you're invisible.
Just for the heck of it, here are my results of the farm on my world. (Hard difficulty)
In 2 hours I got 9 stacks +3 of shulker shells.

Well… I built the farm and it works great!! Apart from 2 issues…
1) I’ve died twice now while afk. (Good thing my inventory was clear and armour off)
2) I had a shulker dupe and teleport down to the collection area. Might need to replace some blocks with glass to prevent this.
Apart from those the farm works really really well. Probably have more shulkers than I’ll need already.
Great work. Been wanting a shulker farm but wondering if it's worth the trouble (cause who needs 100 shulker boxes per hour). Now, WAYYYYY worth it. Appreciate your work.

Nice, quick, and easy to scale - since you can just go down bottom, add another side collection tray, then add the four shulker sitting blocks in another direction, and the closer two shulkers will fill the closer two spots on the sides (which will fill the back ones in time). You can have 8 spots with 16 shulkers going with mere repetition in the other three cardinal directions.
Of course, at that point you might as well go full hog with your prior farm that included the angles, but since this one is easy to understand the mid-tier expansion is easy to understand without worrying too much about spacings and angles.

Thank you I'm an off line player so my main reason for this farm will be to not have to find more end cities because I set the box somewhere and get distracted and lose them
Just some friendly advice using potions of invisibility in survival mode makes this an extremely easy build
Woohoo I done an afk for an hour and got enough shulker shells to make 140 shulker boxes. I don't know how you do it but keep doing it, it filled all four spawn blocks and then it started spawning shulkers on the water area so I have to spawn proof down there to excellent work 2 thumbs up😊😊
