"Justin sees it"
"I don't see shit"
Reminds me of that Jmcroft video about the best fighting game comebacks, one of the comeback J brought up was Justin's Cyclops comeback in MvC2. As croft as commentating the footage, he was gassing Justin as if he was a reading monster. But when Justin made his own fighting game comebacks video, he said "I was mashing". Even he doesn't know how he won that. 🤣

I don't see shit ... That's the most honest answer any fighting game player has said 😂
Dhalsim does to Sagat what Sagat does to the rest of the cast
I love when people talk about how cheap Dhalsim is because they're absolutely right, but also go ahead and try playing him. He's so weird and difficult and requires an insane amount of knowledge of his kit to do well with especially at the highest levels
Just because a character is extremely difficult to play, it doesn't mean that he should be allowed to ruin the game for everyone else.
Of course that's SFII so poor balancing is expected, the game is completely broken (in a fun way) because it was made before game patches were a thing.
In a modern game though, similar characters usually get emergency nerfed as soon as degenerate tech is discovered (except GGST, where Happy Chaos was winning on the loading screen if the player had the execution down)
@user-mc5pl6xk9x you're right, in an ideal world Dhal is tuned tf down so that pro Sim players don't get to steamroll people who don't know how to deal with him (or in some matchups just lose outright) but this argument can be given to most if not all the ST top tiers and even more with them since they're far more popular and easier to learn, mainly Claw since he's definitely Sim's worst MU and many other characters' worst MU as well. Either way ST is a lot of fun despite more than a couple of characters having some lame shit you gotta deal with
As someone who tried to pick up Sim this is absolutely true
Casually you can cheese by but actually having to try is a different story
One wrong whiff and Sim is done for
@@user-mc5pl6xk9x Disagree. The more complex characters should have the edge. Otherwise whats the point of picking them? Everyone will go to the safest character & in that environment the more difficult characters will only be picked on 1) the off chance the opponent doesnt know the matchup, 2) by hardcore enjoyers of that character, however essentially they are gimping themselves, especially if the needed buff doesnt ever come.
Also the case of Street Fighter, the balance was achieved by the extra editions, these were the 'patches' (SF2, SF2 Turb, SF2 Hyper Turbo & so on). Every SF has operated on that logic, few havent like for example SF3 3rd Strike, since its sales were so poor. Lastly, patch era isnt the greatest. Companies might never allow the meta to settle in because they constantly patch, often resulting in great meta imbalances (MK1 is a prime example of constant patches becoming a problem, thats why SF6 has major patches every half year). Furthermore, companies release more broken DLC characters (because they know they can patch it later), but more importantly reactionary patches have enabled a toxic culture where everyone is asking for nerfs, buffs, why they nerf this or that but keep that and so on. And with patches the pick shutdown hasnt really left, it is still there because newer fighting games have a ton more ways to skip neutral & thus the problematic characters apply their shenanigans easier than ever.
Patches are great, but they have a lot of problems as well.
That's how dhalsim works in every game
"maybe the game felt sorry for me"
damn, sim really be piecing sagat up
I always found Dhalsim a fascinating character but very awkward to use, so I never played him as a kid. Seeing this is really astonishing and actually very impressive.
Dhalsim: U can't C ME!
Sagat: I blame the eyepatch
Commentator: Justin is psychic!
Justin: You dare impugn my reactions?!
“Justin sees it…I don’t see shit!” I literally lol 😂😂😂.
5:02 "I begin the rounds but I don't close out games."
Somewhere, Daigo is laughing.
My cousins and I never took Dhalsim seriously in the 90s either. We only switched to him when we were getting beat by traditional characters like Ryu or Ken 🤣
My man didn't even teleport once. Suzuka is a menace!
I think I'm gunna have to dig my snes out and fire up turbo
RetroArch son. There are badass SNES wireless controllers too
5:38 inferno through the tiger
Can somebody hack the thumbnail win quote into ANY SF game??? That thumbnail had me WHEEZING
Mere image editing, and yes.
If by “hack” you mean simple image editing then yes lol
Editing the files is one simple enough thing, knowing how to create patches for the game is another.
he gave you that yoga smoke!
"He watch smug" 🤣🤣
Of the 5 SF2s Super Turbo is the one I have least experience with. I didn't know they had given Dhalsim a vertical Yoga Flame and that the Yoga Flame could give more than one hit.
That's the super that hits more than once. Dhalsim shouts "yoga flame", but the official name of the move is "yoga inferno".
It's so refreshing to see Dhalsim do well! He was always my favorite, but he's slow and vulnerable. Awesome how he was able to back his opponent into a corner and unleash the Yoga Flame.
First minute in I thought: “aww man this is cheesy”…
Then I ended up watching the entire video!😱
Ultra Technical 💪🏾
This match isn't as hard as it feels. Probably 6/4 Sim, but you absolutely must DP 9/10 raw drills/jumps to win. You use your tiger shots to stalemate the fireball war and DP his attempts to close the gap. You also need to read some limbs with a DP.
Just looking over your match, you woulda won more games if you DP the drills.
Great match tho.
I love when Justin says "that's cheap". Haha
That monkey sound. 🤣
The WhiffChimp!
when SF 2 was played seriously in tournaments you never heard anyone complain about Dhalsim. As stated he is extremely difficult to use and extremely slow and weak. It takes amazing skill to make him usable in any match up
Sagat/Dhalsim is indeed a ROUGH matchup for the Gat Man.
And there's me thinking dhalsim was no good.damn bro.
I took children’s lunch money with Dhalsim back in the day. The most OP
character in the game if you know what you are doing.
I remember when he won combo breaker 2018
Dhalsim played properly is a monster, fur a while he was considered OP and cheating.
Played right, he's scary. Sheeeh this match up is an uphill for Sagat.
@@3EBstudio hes not using the jump back extend punch though , thats horrible that one , you just can get near him. presumably sagats uppercut counters this is why?
In correction to my earlier comment in terms of throw Range. Add Zangief to the mix. He had the same range as
Dhalsim up until Super. One difference. Zangief activates submission grabs from that distance with St.MP (Mandible Claw), St.HK (Bite) and Cr.HP (Stomach Pump). In SSF2TX. He loses the St.HK throw (Power Bomb) and the St.MK throw (German Suplex) which became Command throws ala Running Power Bomb and the Izuna drop respectively.
Kind of funny....in SF lore, Dhalsim schools/teaches Sagat how to control his power; in which Sagat holds the upmost respect for him.
WTF. Please provide the exact context you’re referring to? Of sim teaching Sagat..
@@arachnivisionI think he's referring to the Udon comics
Dustin calling someone else cheap is so funny…
Justin is like: washes everybody with top tiers. Loses to a skillful player with sh*t character. Justin: that's cheap lol
Shit character? Dhalsim is number 2 in the game, and it is not even close to third place. If there was no Claw, the game would be actually LESS BALANCED, in terms of how much better the best character would be against everyone else.
@@mjorge0alvesHow many years it took to realize this meta?
Dhalsim is considered S tier in this game lmao.
That thumbnail LMAO
been trying to learn O. Sagat cus I heard he was pretty OP, but man I can't imagine trying to keep up with this dhalsim, that's freaking wild!
"I dont see shi"😭
Sagat and Dhalsim were gym buddies once... Look at them..haha.. nice matches Justin, still enjoyable
Dhalsim was my main back in my SF Turbo days so I loved watching. This guy was a monster but you handled him well.
When in doubt, use the Ume-Shoryu, aka throw out random uppercuts.
Justin Wong is in fact human
J WONG Got DAT PSY DP
Thanks for this video! I've been needing some techs i can use for dhalsim in ultra 2 😅
A dedicated Sim is frightening
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 at the thumbnail
5:34- 5:41 Jesus Chris...Jesus Chriiisss... Being a Sagat main, that was funny...I also felt that. 😅
@Justin Wong who’s the better Dhalsim Jason Cole or the guy from Japan
IDK Justin seemed to have some sick reactions on MVSC series why he can’t react in SF is a mystery 😂😂
back in the day when i was liiiiitle boy it was well known that turbo Dhalism was no joke
Shout-out to Marcus D.
Characters definitely have different throw ranges. Dhalsim has one of the best and Sagat has one of the worst.
[ Justin Daughter ]: That Dhalsim beat you hard!
[ Justin Wong ]: Lose to the best is not a shame.
[ Justin Daughter ]: That Dhalsim don't looks like he is the...!
[ Justin Wong ]: T H E B E S T I S A Y ! ! !
Wong has to know throw ranges exist LMFAO like in every Classic SF not just SF2.
Suzuka is very strong, but he is not the best Dhalsim. That would be Hakase (Doctor). And Hakase is even better at this matchup. I would want to face him as any kind of shoto, if money was on the line: might as well just hand him the money and save the credits.
Also, the cursed Sim j. Mk that always beats tiger uppercut at the end. Fighting Sim is the only time I feel sorry for O. Sagat.
I always root for Justin. And even when he's losing he is still fun to watch.
That Yoga Fire hit INTO the Yoga Flame was DIABOLICAL. 😮
3:36 - "Ladies and gentlemen, this is a cheap move"
I remember when u play in Perú, my community named Dojouken challenge you to play ssf2 hyper in ps2 because no one arcade have the game for play correctly. You refused to play, i need know why
I used to play this game as a kid. Man all my cousins would all pack the living room for matches. Don't ever recall anyone ever getting this good though lol.
The James Chen sneak diss😂
"I can't believe the dedicated zoner out fireball'd me"
-Mr.Wong
Dhalsim and vega are so good in this game theyve been paying for it ever since
"Why would you ever even think you can beat me with O.Sagat" 😂😂😂
Looks like when Justin bodies Smugg in fighting games 😂.
If all you’re doing is throwing 50 fireballs /round while the other guy is using all kinds of skill.. how can you expect to win?
It’s always a “bad matchup” unless you stand back and block fireballs to death.
Dhalseem is modeled after his countrymen. Ultimate versatility. Crouching jab.donward spiral anti. Stretch arm low. Neutral yoga flame.
5:39 Dhalsim straight up roasted Justin!
Tell me the downward spiral diagonal anti air has never been replicated so cleanly.
THIS JUSTIN! Dude did you Wong!
He is a truly yoga maniac...😰
It’s because Justin fought BLUE Dhalsim. 💙
Trust me. 😜
Before throw teching, if two characters tried to throw at the same time, the game did a 50/50 toss up and one character gets thrown.
No Tiger Knee?
Justin always loved Onsen stage ♨♨
He needs to work on his multi hit combos with Sagat. More flying knees too
Sagat needs to release them uppercuts they great for countering his sneaky attacks
Ah, the old double comme tary through each other. Amazing
the reason of lost is tiger knee, you dint dare use it
Sweaty- never seen such fast casts. The Dp looked like Kryptonite
Dhalsim in SSF2T(and his SSF2T version in Hyper Street Fighter 2: Anniversary Edition) are arguably the best version of Dhalsim in the SF2. This version has all the tools to be problem in most matchups.
I love how Justin is honest when it comes to the commentators giving him too much credit for some of his random reaction counters lol
Amazing Sim
The whole "such and such character is cheap" is such a bullshit argument. If you're good enough you'll be able to overcome what people consider to be cheap.
True to a certain extent
You clearly haven't come across a 3s chun li
The thumbnail 😂😂😂
Dhalsim wins by keeping a mid range distance, where he can reach, but they can't. He also uses the downward spiral at different angles depending on where his opponent is.
Have you ever played castle crashers?
Your fighting game exp and timing would make that game fun for you.
All the other characters I can somewhat hold my own, but Dhalsim has always been difficult to play
The best Dhalsims and Guiles gave me tons of trouble as a Ryu and Blue Blanka player. Dhalsim is a God by now
Here for the thumbnail.
Damn your videos, I'm getting too interested in OG street fighting competitions but it's all too late to join now 😂
There is online tourneys on Fightcade
I love Dhalsim
U have inspired me to be great & never give up!!!
Throws have nothing to do with frame data. Characters do have different throw ranges in SF2. Dhalsim with one of the longer throw ranges. Blanka, Dhalsim, Honda, Dictator, Gief all have pretty far throw ranges. Sagat has one of the smallest throw ranges. All throws are 0 frame throws. No start up.
Justin Wong of all people wasn't clear on this, odd
I'm sure he either misspoke or just doesn't know about everything. I like that, it makes him more human.
They "sort of" do have to do with frame data. If you are +3 for whatever reason and immediately go for a throw, your opponent that is still in block stun won't be thrown and you get a fierce punch or a roundhouse kick or whatever because you're too early. Meanwhile if they mash throw (and are in range) they're going to throw you out of the startup of your heavy button.
Also the throw ranges are the same +/- a pixel in some ports. So it matters a bit which specific revision you are talking.
u forgot chun
@@shaunmcisaac782 That an interesting bit of info. Thanks for sharing that.
Dhalsim basically Sagats Sagat…
That was rough to watch because of the sf story
The key to defeating Dhalsim is movement. You will have lesser success from long range. Highly mobile characters like Vega can flip and avoid much of the Yoga fire attacks. Vega has a lot of air attacks that can cause problem for Dhalsim. Ryu and Vega are two of the best to fight Dhalsim. Slow characters like Zangief and E Honda have a harder time
I know for a fact throw ranges are definitely a thing in Champion Edition and Hyper fighting. I stopped playing back in the day after hyper fighting but played it a very high level. I'm pretty sure and super turbo though Dawson has a longer normal throw range than almost the entire cast I believe. That's the way it wasn't hyper fighting at least I don't know how much they changed it in super turbo. But that was definitely a thing because for example balrogs throw range was very close but Dawson's throw range was very far so balrog literally could not reverse the throw if a dolphin player did it correctly and that was the way Dawson could do to almost every character I believe if he did it right in space it correctly obviously with the exception of zangiefs spd.
I'm going back to this Dhalsim, SF6 Dhaslim sucks.
He's mid tier. He doesn't suck at all.
@@MiscFightVids So I guess it's just a coincidence that no one uses him and we rarely ever see him make top 8 in big tournaments
Dhalsim is one of those characters no one takes seriously until he exists and then most Dhalsim's are experts so he automatically becomes a problem the vast majority of the time.
I feel like Blanka is heavily slept on
He’s so annoying to play against
in all of this vs in sf2 vs the japan players he won anyone? the level is too high holly shit
"That's chchchcheaappp"
- Justin Wong, 2024
Had to replay 3:32 a few times to confirm the exaggeration of the damage taken during that exchange.
Last comment before it looks like I'm spamming: I always felt that it was unfair that Ryu and Ken's Dragon Punches are invincible but they give Sagat a similar move but it can be beaten.
